Bet

A bet is a placement of unit(s) on a certain part of the carpet. A bet on red. The Romanosky Bet. A bet on your birthday.

Trigger

A trigger is a condition which must be fulfilled before a bet.

i.e. Bet red after 3 blacks. Always bet the column that sleeps 6 spins.

System

A system is a compendium of triggers and money management rules.

i.e. Betting a red/black trigger with the martingale or d'alembert money management.

Strategy

A strategy focuses on identifying the best moments to use a system. a.k.a Situational play, situational awareness. It's the focus on the game under a light of an ordered timeline.

It's based on timing.

Meta-strategy.

Or “strategy of strategies”. It focuses on picking the best strategy according to the current condition in the numerical stream.

It can go on and on. (meta-meta...) but we take the levels above are enough to draw the picture.

So far there’s nothing on bets, triggers nor systems. Your best chance lies in focusing in strategies and meta-strategies.

There goes the fertile grounds of study in the computer-assisted era of betting today.

Complex calculations can be done in real-time as the game unfolds. This luxury wasn't available to players in the past. If information technology and remote gaming brought something to the table, it is empowering users with this ability.

Of course, you need to have decent strategies to automate and have a chance in getting some advantage out of them. But still using strategic play and focusing on timing can be considered better than using the same stiff bet without even giving ourselves the opportunity for malleability to assist us. In this short-circuited game, when something isn't delivering, it means something else is.
We can use current processing power to assisting us in determining on which basket to put our eggs, according to which is the best basket at this present time.

This proactive approach isn't related to blindly switching systems, but rather adapting to current conditions -in real time-, and switching to the most promising approach for the current scenario, with all the conscience and the  awareness for treading waters on a spin-to-spin basis, being prompt to switch -consciously- should the stream change; sticking with what is currently delivering for as long as it shows continuation.

Adapting to continuation as well as change. Perhaps one of the best (if not eventually the only one) way to keep up with this beautiful and ever-moving game.

Vic

Interesting observation.  You are the man who once said Turbo Genius had not one, but two "Holy Grails".  Yep, I remember it.  Not many of us have one, let alone two!

Maybe I misunderstood the above comment.

No Sam, you didn't misunderstand.

Holy grails are "holy" until they aren't

For some casual players a 10-step martingale is their holy grail, mind you.

I've heard something like: "There's a winning system for every set of actuals"... Makes you think your job as a player is to spot that winning method, based on what you have on your "personal arsenal".

Vic, this was always the case in my humble opinion. Think back 10 years ago to Turbo's boom and bust charts. The bust part only meant that whatever rigid bet selection was in use was not working. (gizmo's third ''law'')  :D But that also meant something else was working pretty darn well. It's quite funny looking back on all that now and almost everyone shouting ''next'' as if it was ever going to be any different and roulette would stop acting in such a dynamic nature.
