  • I can see only idiotic talks in last few months. It is pretty sad but may be many want only that. A bunch of jokers are talking stuff all over and serious debates days are over, it seems.

  • Gone are the days when we used to talk of innovations, new systems, their testings and all those stuff that made this place worth visiting. A few members are using the board as a garbage bin putting in all kind of weird unrelated stuff. Going the way gamblers glen went.

Why not start your own topic then, instead of whining about "idiotic topics"?

I think gamblers are beginning to realize that there are no winning systems for games like Roulette and Baccarat, and for poker, sports betting, forex trading etc where you CAN get a real edge, people are naturally reluctant to share their strategies, and who can blame them? Their hard-won edge would be eroded if many people knew how to achieve it.

  • It is using such inflammatory phrases as "idiotic topics" that deters people from bothering to post their ideas and methods.

I know of five very successful [they have an edge] yet quite radical approaches that have been quietly developed by individuals or  small, collaborative groups working well away from forums.

    They shun publicity.

    Why?

Because they have learned either through personal experience, or by observing the fate of others who have posted to forums, that it's often the poster who is unpleasantly attacked and criticised, rather than the idea they are proposing.

No wonder few people are game to use forums such as this to discuss their ideas.

All credit to the brave ones that do.

I started to write something and then erased knowing full well---it would be used against me rather than any discussion or comments that might just be useful or constructive.  (earlier in this thread, and quoted the O.P., that is the reason my initial response was left blank).  I know 99.99.9% the author of this thread was directing most of his 'joke' comments towards me because he has some on my Blog numerous times and chastised and commented against my attempts at humor as well as writing.  Esoito, you are 100% correct in the way you summarize what you did.

What floors me, if you as a reader (all supposedly so great and profitable gamblers) do not enjoy--like--find useful, etc., anyone on this forum, why repeatedly come on their threads and berate-chastise and attempt humiliation.  Isn't their time precious and valuable?

The analogy of going to the library, getting a book, reading it and then complaining about the waste of time.  Could have at any time put it down, gave up on it and put your time to great use doing something else or learning/being entertained from another author.  I don't know about you guys, but i like Stephen Lee Burke.  I buy anything he writes, read it and save it.  Say something comes out by Stephen King, I have started to read numerous works by him and get literally lost and bored in the story, put it down and never finished it.  Now, I have to check the whole book out before the blind purchase of it.  As far as Clive Cussler, I am not interested.  No need to buy or borrow anything by him.  I don't enjoy his style.  Why waste my time?

So many on here 'assume', 'blame', find fault with and anything and everything in between those with posters that decide to invest their own time in posting.  IMO, if you don't like it, enjoy it, find it useful---skip it.  The interaction of berating, reading another's written work and then beating up on them---is the same as a pedophile that preys on little kids, in so many ways.

God bless and for what seems to be universal code on here for some reason, 'cheers'.

  • There is a lot of talent out there. The sad thing though is when it gathers in forums like this one, one created out of the kindness and effort by a good soul with the intention to focus it in one place, the worse traits of human beings seems to find its way to poison it.

It gets poisoned by the lower qualities signifying human beings, being envy, frustration, anger, pettiness, restlessness and a few other.

This way of imploding a good place, created out of good intentions, seems prevalent in our contemporary society. Perhaps it is the way the Internet has brought out in people. I am talking of that need of not having to face the one they pour their spite on, for had it been a physical place, arguments would indeed rise between members of any noble society or group, but yet under the agreed social rules that humans have lived under thousand of years when interacting in joint ventures, be it culture, science or even gambling.

Is there a way to solve this dilemma? I do not know.  Perhaps future generations will.
All beings are born and steeped in debt. I know of no creature that negates this fact. The commodity they bought with borrowed means, is life, and the price for its duration, be it good or bad, is death.

How do you not know if people in the Roulette and Baccarat section are reluctant to share their strategies as well?  Can't blame them right?

"Their hard-won edge would be eroded if many people knew how to achieve it."  --- Yes, that is exactly how it would happen.  New side bets like Dragons for Baccarat have done it in the past and more can be done.  Ed Thorpe did this exact for BJ card counting when he published his finding.

Dragon side bets ---  Some may disagree here regarding D7 side bets.  I just learned that this bet is different for some casinos.  In my area, you push if you bet banker.  Where my friend lives, the D7 side bets make no different.

  • Because they have learned either through personal experience, or by observing the fate of others who have posted to forums, that it's often the poster who is unpleasantly attacked and criticised, rather than the idea they are proposing.

That's a fair point, and ad hominem attacks add nothing to the argument, but some don't take criticism of their IDEAS very well either, and accuse the critic of attacking THEM personally, and so the "debate" degenerates.

Witness the recent debacle with Stephen Tabone. When his system/book was criticised, he didn't take it very well and resorted to absurd counter-attacks, accusations of the "mob" etc, instead of actually addressing the issues which were raised.

And sometimes the character of a poster (not the idea) DOES have a bearing on his/her message. If, for example, someone has a track record of being a scammer, or dishonest, misleading, etc, then shouldn't this be taken into account?

But in general I agree with alrelax; if you don't like what a poster has to say, ignore it. If you can't ignore it, then challenge it, giving REASONS for your point of view.
