One problem I have is I was born and partially raised and then lived in NYC for nearly 30 years of my life. Many, many many New Yorkers are a different breed by far and large. The USA is large, many states, 50 or so in fact and lots and lots and lots of personalities and governments and rules and regulations. One would have to be a full time reader and translator to actually know them all. But, back to the point, put 2 New Yorkers anywhere in the USA and say they were standing in a bank that was getting robbed in Omaha, Nebraska from 2 man dressed up as cowboys with automatic weapons. Both New Yorkers look at each other and wink their eyes and they know exactly what that means. (I will spell it out for those of you missing the meaning. When the time is right, pounce on those freaking cowboys and take them down). Then the time comes, the 2 New Yorkers pounce, big time! Darn man! They each stand on the armed cowboy robbers back until the local police department arrives and takes the two robbers into custody. The 2 New Yorkers high five and hug each other. They go off to the local coffee shop to shoot the breeze. They jay walk across the main street in front of the bank to cross the road to get to the coffee shop. A uniform cop outside the bank yells out, 'hey you can't jay walk'. The two New Yorkers flip their middle finger to the rookie cop and just as the rookie cop was going to chase them down to write the 2 a citation for jay walking, a local detective standing right there grabs the rookie by the arm and tells him, 'lots to do with crowd control and the media arriving--don't you think'?? P.S.: Turned out the detective is also from the northeast part of the USA, maybe not New York City but most definitely the northeast.
Continue this little venture. A couple of cowboy tourists from Omaha, Nebraska are in Manhattan, New York. They walk into a bank to buy some travelers checks. The bank is taken down and being robbed by two masked gunman. The two cowboys have their heads down on the ground the whole time. When the gunman are gone and the detectives arrive to question everyone, the 2 cowboys from Omaha, Nebraska rush over to the cops and begin complaining about security, was the rules and regulations being followed and why is the city there is so unsafe, etc., etc., and so on.
Okay, I said it.
