I got into this discussion with at least 2 of the newer members here by PM and then one on the phone the other day.  They wholeheartedly agreed with me, at least that is what they said anyway.  I have talked with many long time experienced bac players as well.  The subject is the repeated buy-ins, subsequent to your instant one you are willing to risk, whether that is your norm buy-in or otherwise.

IMO and experience, I do subscribe to the protocol of buying-in with what i am going to risk for the session.  I do not generally split the buy-in, say a $1,500.00 buy-in into like 3 attempts of $500.00 each.  I am not against that, I am against the players that buy-in with say the $1,500.00 and lose and then pull more money and more money in the attempts to recover their lost buy-in.

It will generally not work for the sole reason of your 'Frame-of-Mind'.  Oh yes---once again I speak of that!  But it is so very true!  You will be frustrated, aggravated, upset and emotional.  Your total picture is wiped out, don't do it!  The way I look at it, is say I lost 100 times.  I continually buy-in and buy-in each session trying to recover my lost buy-in.  I would say, 75-85% I would have no chance whatsoever to recover those.  The other 15-25% of the times, the recovery will be so trivial to the additional monies I lost in the total picture.  But most will not see it this way because of your 'total blindness' at the casino or even in your living room on-line adventures.

I have personally became a much better player with the non-tangible end of it including the psych things like this, the past 10 years or so by making it part of my protocol of refusing subsequent buy-ins and walking away.  I truly refined my agenda and see clearly the profit by having the larger wins and totally excluding those from increasing my buy-ins, bank rolls, etc.  And realizing that a certain amount of buy-in will either prevail and excel or fizzle out.  I learned not to fight the destiny of each session.  When it can't or won't happen, that is it.  When it happens, pounce on it and milk it with thunderous play.  Then pocket it all and reset.  And I mean reset in totality and not increasing your play with large wagering, bank rolls and extended time because as I found out a while back, all that does is give back everything you won and then additional buy-ins to the casino.  And that is the other huge problem so many have.  Is their failure to 'reset'.  It all goes to their head, so quickly and playing into 110% what the casino banks on and counts on.  And the sad part is about 998 players out of every 1,000 do!  Everywhere around the world.  The failure to reset and play within your own norm, your own plateaus-hills and valleys will haunt you and rob you---just about every time.  You are not comfortable there for so many reasons and that is fuel for another story at another time.  Seriously, look at the way you lose your subsequent buy-ins and as well, look at the way you have lost the highest majority of all of your win money.  I know what I am talking about here.

Winning fuels everything and as well adds confusion when you lose.  Keeping your mind and protocols straight no matter what is the key to losing minimal and withholding wins.  And this is the hardest thing to master at the baccarat table.

Garfield

"When it can't and won't happen"

Solid !

And the casino doesn't have to cheat. They just wait for you to crumble down.
You will never know. Not now, not in this life. You aren't that lucky.

And so many do not fully grasp that Garfield.

This is one of the most important things in baccarat play.

It is what I classify as a 'non-tangible' item, unlike progressions, wagering and all kinds of other things.

Has to do with the player's psych.
