Emotional Repercussions in Baccarat you must deal with

I am writing an in-depth article about, 'Emotional Repercussions, which actually does suspend your judgement, caused by losing at the table'.  What I feel actually causes the majority of players to compound their losses that initially happen and suffer greater loss while at the table.  Here are some highlights, as I condensed down the majority of my research and compilation from my experiences.

1)   I've often experienced the most stuck, stubborn and hardheaded baccarat players, searching for solutions without taking an additional step back to question how to actually define the problem and what could logically be the answer to winning more than they lose.   It's common to define our problems in mental and emotional terms or contribute them to learning as well, to blame the variance for taking away our money and it is only a matter of time until you can change the tables on the casino.   We love preaching that we really know this game—but claim that we just lose control and get all emotional.   But few if any of the people I ever meet, played with or discussed with can actually tell in honesty or understand why they really do lose at the game.  The funny part to me at least, is that the majority of the losses occur because of the player getting emotional and subconsciously suspends his judgement while his gambling continues.

2)   So if we want to create different results, we must change our thoughts and totally understand what we must do to control ourselves and maintain our judgement, no matter what happens with our buy-in amounts.  A player's success will begin with the contents of his mind and how his mind reacts to his wagering wins and losses.

3)   Being emotional thorough losing money will generally suspend your judgement and that is the simple reason you become frustrated and really aggravated.  It only gets worse from that point.  That is why I constantly say, you have to be in reality, stay completely conscious, and have that good positive vision, etc., etc., and so on.   The bottom line is, that being emotional will just about always suspend your judgement and you cannot effectively play baccarat and gamble with clear, concise, good and effective judgement to properly wager and weather the upswings or the downswings.

False beliefs and associations with other players that are 'seasoned in the wrong way' as well as those 'out on a mission to recoup their lost funds and smack the casino' are huge are killers of all positive-motivational and emotional well-being of a decent/good or great baccarat player. When your mind is cluttered with false information, and you base your own wagering and game beliefs on such falsehoods, you can't move forward in the necessary particular areas to improve your game and play well. Your progress will always remain stifled and shorted in every way, until you clean up your mental mess and all the misunderstandings that you inflicted upon yourself.

Now the obvious solution here is to suspend judgment when your knowledge in a particular area is lacking, easily definable by your blatant and tangible actions at the baccarat table.  Meaning, you fail to really capitalize and win more than you lose on a regular basis.  Don't confuse that statement with winning each and every time. That cannot be done.  However, you can actually do this consciously no matter if you actually lost a session or won the session. Your brain may still apply its wagering and decision making functions at inappropriate times, but with sufficient self-awareness, you can discipline yourself to mentally override those biases along with the emotional devastation that will almost certainly---each and every time it comes around, throw you into 'tilt' or 'emotional status' that you do not want to be in.  IMO, you cannot automatically do this, you have to constantly and manually remind yourself, each and every few hands you are playing.  It is work, it is pressure, and it is exhausting to a point.  But, it has to be done if you are really serious about being able to capitalize on opportunities that will present themselves to be capitalized on at the baccarat table.

Problem is, most people let their egos get too involved? Are you actually trusting yourself to automatically see clear and have the vision you really need to win?   Such that when your ideas or beliefs are not winning, you feel a need to personally redeem yourself and reclaim your lost buy-in(s) to the point of relentless playing with emotional devastation that is ruling yourself?

I realize this can confuse people and they will say, 'It is only natural to become emotional if you lose your money'.  Sure, but you have to remove yourself from the normal picture of player and casino.  You have to look at your buy-in and a tool and not actual money.  Then you have to remain in a complete neutral state or as close to one as you can.  Then you have to allow everything to become numbers, patterns, trends, presentations, sections, and parts---whatever.  at times because we're so conditioned to wrap perspective with absolute clear vision and the ability to transpose yourself 'into the shoe' and rapidly decide if you are within an opportunity or not.  It is not easy and it confusing at times—that also compounds your emotional state to think clear and neutral.   But the opportunities are possible with an open mind. Open-mindedness, however, makes for very monotonous play at times and cannot stimulate fun.  It is not all that way all the time and you can allow yourself to have fun, celebrate, show positive camaraderie and emotions, when the time is right.

Facing such challenges without the proper knowledge and emotional understanding, can be too much for most players of baccarat.  In the short run, it may seem easier to block the whole thing by clinging to a false beliefs, such as—'I will turn it all around and begin winning again' or 'My time is coming soon', which is what almost all baccarat players actually do.  And the sad part of it all, is they actually do believe in those emotional blocking excuses they tell themselves.

When people are in blocking mode, they'll often propose and defend the most ridiculous arguments that make more experienced players cringe and when those players get on a blind lucky winning streak—the whole balance gets thrown off into confused judgment and false beliefs that will prove to take back all the win money and all your available funds, as it does almost each and every time.  What is even more sad—yet true, is the better players, the experienced players will actually start to follow those type of players because they see them winning and they get sucked into the 'false sense' of believing the player has some type of insight and knowledge.

I see this sort of blocking happen quite often in gambling  related discussions within our forums. When people are desperately clinging to an unfulfilling belief and their own bad situation, they usually become stronger in the conviction that their way is the only way and anyone else is lacking not only knowledge about his own situation but about the game and the ability to win.  Out of fear they may not be able to find anything better and they will generally start to attack other players, friends, or forum members.  In fact, they'll frequently attack any perspectives that would potentially present them with just about any type of real positive or insight in explaining what they are doing wrong.  Again, the person is blocking and suspending any type of judgment that would allow him to rationalize out, understand and use such advantaged tools that a baccarat player can actually use to assist him greatly. Their unwillingness to face their fears and admit they were foolish, believe false information and were influenced by others, generally prevents them from seriously considering new perspectives and being able to capitalize on the simplicity of baccarat and will continue to lose their money for their quest to prove themselves correct.

Some people experience a major breakdown as their old beliefs succumb to new truths. For a while nothing seems real anymore. It's as if their whole reality was broken, rearranged and laid out for their self-destruction. They have to live one day at a time for a while to process what's happening to them. If you find yourself in this place, rest assured its temporary, the better times and clearer vision are being formed within yourself.  Just keep doing what you need to be doing, control yourself, and you'll work your way through it.

(Thought on understanding what it is to allow yourself to actually win more than you lose at baccarat and how to govern and multiple the win amounts that can come your way.  It's always assumed to be a software problem, isn't it?  To change our results, we must change the judgement and the believes that runs within our minds that trigger the things we do at the baccarat table when we are doing them, without letting anything emotional or false influence us to do to otherwise.)

(Author's Note:  I shortened this up quite a bit due to the previous complaints and innuendoes that I get too detail and too lengthy in my posts.)

I know from personal experience that brain chemistry has at least a little to do with it too.

Quote"A new understanding of compulsive gambling has also helped scientists redefine addiction itself. Whereas experts used to think of addiction as dependency on a chemical, they now define it as repeatedly pursuing a rewarding experience despite serious repercussions. That experience could be the high of cocaine or heroin or the thrill of doubling one's money at the casino. "The past idea was that you need to ingest a drug that changes neurochemistry in the brain to get addicted, but we now know that just about anything we do alters the brain," says Timothy Fong, a psychiatrist and addiction expert at the University of California, Los Angeles. "It makes sense that some highly rewarding behaviors, like gambling, can cause dramatic [physical] changes, too.""

Yes Mark.  And I have researched for years ways to effectively combat and instill certain thoughts and beliefs to counter the negative emotional state where a gambler suspends his judgement and gambles emotionally.

Not easy, but very possible.  I am good 98 or 99 times out of 100 or thereabouts as I have written about.

Glen, I was thinking of your friend that blew $70,000.

Partly the reason I wrote it, but that has been on my list for some months to write about.  But, yes--certainly applies to him.  And, I do believe his loss 100% due to emotional reasons where he absolutely was suspending his judgement.  Because he is a fairly decent player, actually pretty good--when he is not emotional at all.  That is why i am defining it now.

And also, that $15k I totally blew that Friday night a few weeks back, if you read about that one.  Same thing, 100%!

It is a bit more than breathing exercises and saying, 'I promise  keep myself under control', etc.
