It breaks my heart...

When some, especially new player, believe they could do baccarat as "play for living". When I was naive and arrogant, thought that I could earn a decent living by playing bacc. The truth hit me hard. Lost saving and ruined relationship with friends and family.

You may not believe me. I was believe there are ways to win regularly. Really. Got a lot of free stuff form Silverthone's. Bought Alvin's. Studied Dr.Tom's. Just to learn that sometimes "all-the-systems-out-there" works, and most of times, they don't.

Please don't do this.

It breaks my heart....

That many players, some after a hard lesson, learn something. And maybe many of them, although already in deep hole, still believe there is a miracle, holy grail system that will turn the situation. And do not realize they're getting deeper and deeper.

You may not believe me. I lost my saving, and with 110% confidence after having a new "cure all-fix all" systems, borrow money from friend and family, just to see it vanished. So stubborn. So stupid. None of the stop-loss, money-management, or bet-selection worked.

In the end, the biggest enemy is your self. Your anger, greed, pride and that kind of thing. Not the casino, not the dealer, not the cards, and especially not baccarat.

Really I don't want you to experience mine. Do you really need to experience it first ?

You want to win at baccarat ?

Play it for fun / extra income. Save some to start as your bankroll. Be ready to lose it all. You could divide it into 2-3 buy in. If it is gone, please don't chase or re-buy. Save some more for the next time.

If you win, save some for you bankroll and spend if you wish. Don't forget to buy something nice for your love ones. I don't believe "hot money easy come easy go". You could save your winning.

Play as you like it. Call it systems, luck, intuition whatever you like. If you want to be better, there are a lot of stuff here to start with. But learning come with experience. And learning baccarat is costly. You will realize (or you will not) what works, and what doesn't.

Just don't use your saving or debt as your "tuition" fee.

No I am not on my period. Or smoking w**d whatsoever.

You will never know. Not now, not in this life. You aren't that lucky.

Very honest and from deep within my heart.  I would like to state the following sentiments about baccarat and casino gambling systems claiming to make you rich or ones that you believe you can use to not work conventional employment and make hundreds or thousands a day by gambling.

What Garfield said, is spot on.  I have played this game (never claimed full-time and never claimed to be a 'pro' or anything of the likes) for well over 35 years.  I have always had business and/or a career with salaried employment of one type or another.  I have always kept the casino gambling and the personal business separate in my life.

There are numerous ways to attack baccarat with bank-rolls and buy-ins that are extra money-savings-set asides, etc., etc., that will not totally effect you support, your family's financial or well being, etc.  Think before you use you main-stream funds to gamble with, the same would also apply to sports, racing, recreational drugs, parties, cheating and prostitutes, investment in stocks or businesses, etc., etc., etc.

But with gambling and let's just say baccarat, there are systems sellers and authors that will claim fame and sure-bets 100% and defend themselves and turn each and every statement such as the one I am writing and the one Garfield wrote and all other ones around.  They will use them to boast themselves and say something like, "Well if you guys only had my system", or "You guys tried all the other garbage and fake systems, mine is real", etc., etc., and so on.

Be careful, there are no systems that will ever be sold that will truly beat the casino.  All claims of beating the casino either comes with disclosures of 'sometimes' or 'maybe' or 'with limited this or that', etc.  Those should even be more suspect because of the author's built in 'way-out'.  There are also other systems and books that will give a brass-balls statement of 100% or nearly 100% fool-proof, bullet proof, iron clad, etc., etc., and so on.  And each and every one of them fails and goes by the wayside eventually.

The only was to combat and get an edge at baccarat is to attack it from all directions with something.  And that is not a mechanical preconceived scheduled bet placement method.  Once you have experience, once you realize what the game is capable or incapable of doing, with the proper knowledge and insight--you will be able to attack it from all direction and have the wherewithal to employ certain money management hold techniques to guarantee your hold of win money and realize when to start and stop your plays, etc.  BTW, I wrote o series of '1 of 10' articles about this and other things related to, what it takes to start your real attack to win money playing baccarat.  They are located in the highlighted, first page section, of my Blog Room here under 'Alrelax's Blog' room on this board.  Free, no charge.  I sincerely think you need some or most of those things I outlined in order to really get serious about the game of baccarat.

Please understand the danger and volatility of this game.  It cannot be consistently won with any scheduled betting method whatsoever.
My Blog within BetSelection Board: https://betselection.cc/index.php?board=250.0

Played well over 36,951 shoes of baccarat since I started playing at B&M USA casinos.

THE PURPOSE OF GAMING IS TO WIN!

"Don't say it's a winning hand until you are getting paid for it".

Played numerous properties in Las Vegas, Reno, Southern California, Atlantic City, Connecticut, South Florida, The South/Southeast as well as most areas of The Midwest.

Baccarat, actually a mixture of Watergate, attacking the Gotti Family and the famous ear biting Tyson fight leading to disqualification and a near riot.  Bac has all that & more.

Hi Garfield & Alrelax,

I've been following your reading for quite some time now Alrelax and a lot of your preaching is accurate but wonder where you have so much time to write all that wisdom talk.

Garfield your post is spot on.  With the game of Baccarat, anything can happen and it's up to us to read between the lines to determine if the shoe is in a treading or anti-treading mode.  I've been caught in this situation to many times that I had to post this message to express myself as once again I lost my bank roll in less than 1/2 hour after building it for like 1 week.
I was in for $1350 US in this online casino (don't want to share site - disclosure reasons) after several buy-in of like:
-$250 twice
-$450 once
-$400 once

I told myself that is the last $400 no matter what happens, and I continued to play my game which is the conservative be extremely patient and wait for distinct patterns of the game before diving into my regular attack on Baccarat.  From last Thursday until Last night I was able to wheel my bankroll to $1345 US and said to myself that is good for today and you have your original buy-in back.  Of course, after putting my daughter and wife to sleep, something inside of me says there is still time to play a little session before bed...What a big MISTAKE!

The shoe was not that great, it was forming the V shape with unpredictable outcome and I don't normally play V shape shoe.  I like choppy, 2 and 2, and long trends but again something inside of me says just a couple of hands and I got sucked in hard.
I wish I had the shoe in front of me but currently at work.  The shoe appeared to be favoring the player's side with two P and one B after the V shape had completed.  I felt comfortable to go after my B after the 2 P completed and it turn out to be a long player, but I was to stubborn to realize it in time after losing entire bankroll.  It went down like this:
1st bet B : $10 L
2nd bet B: $50 L
3rd bet B: $100 L
4th bet B: $200 T
5th bet B: $200 L
6th bet B: $400 L
7th bet B: $500 L
8th bet B: all in L
Next hand (no money left) natural B - 9

Now you might be saying to yourself, this guy is stupid why doesn't he just move to player side, but you know being in this situation is a lot more complicated than that and it has a lot to do with 'Frame of Mind' as Alrelax has mention so many times.  I shouldn't of even started that session period, after a long day of work, family time, and 1 hour of baccarat I should of called it done for the day.  But the evil/greedy inside of me walked me to that online casino and the cards toke me for a ride.

I have not deposited since last night, but can't get it out of my head on how disappointed I am with myself and the way I lost my bankroll and the fallacy that I have committed.  Don't get me wrong, I am experience Baccarat player and know how to win and exit; the pressure/thought was just too great, thinking about how hard I played to earn my buy-in back, only to lose it all in a foolish attempt to get back to the same level.

What I need from you two, is mentorship and meditation ways to always keep my frame of mind in the positive position and to notice when my body and mind is not at it's sharpest to avoid these pitfalls again!!!  Please Help

Sincerely,
GrindUDown

Garfield

Well @MrGrindUDown (that was quite hard to write you know  ;D)

I don't think myself qualify as a mentor. Really. Back then I could reach my daily target in less than a hour. Surely the devil that lured you to play again was a relative to the one that spoke to me.  >:D LoL

The thought was "hey you could win more, come on, let's play for another 10min". And it ended exactly like that.

Well now when I win, I really stop playing. How do I manage to, IMO, based on my previous experience. The regret, maybe gave the best impact on me. Looking at my 7 y.o son's picture is one of them. I imagined he said to me "Come dad, stop playing and play with me. Don't lose money. Please"

FYI I once played with my son around. And when I lost, I got angry and yelled at him for anything he did. Really a bad memories. Couldn't forget the frightened look on his face. I assume when you are angry because of losing in gambling, your face is turning to something ugly.

I am sorry I couldn't help you more. If you couldn't control it, you might want to stop gambling at all.

Well you have heard it many times before,,,,,,,,,,,fail to plan,,,,,,,,,.then plan to fail.

Set  a conservative % of bankroll that you will lose on any shoe / and session

Like wise set a % of bankroll you will try to win on a shoe / and session

(A session can be any number of shoes that you predetermine )

Physically segregate your bankroll in a separate place ( such as a portable fireproof safe (Walmart sells one for about         $ 30 ). Add your profits and deduct your losses from the bankroll

Create a spreadsheet with your profit or loss for each shoe/session....and also include a comments to write down what you did right and what you did wrong.

Sounds like too much work  ?,,,,,,,,well then be prepared to pay a big price as MrGrindyoudown unfortunately experienced.

Hey 8or9,

Thank you for that post, really open my eyes.  If I am to treat this like a business, then yes all though suggestion makes absolute sense.  From here on end I will do just that, secure my baccarat bankroll in a separate location from the gaming bankroll and not bring the entire bankroll into play as that is super dangerous with the human urge to try and bet bigger and bigger to win lose wagers as you can see I self-destructed.

I guess with online casinos, I can always transfer my bankroll to sports and hold it there so that I don't see the entire amount in the baccarat room and only bring say $200 to play base bet $5.  Win $80 leave, lose $200 not my day.

Is this a good plan?

Any plan, as long as it could make you keep your winning / prevent you for losing too much, is a good plan IMHO.

But the real thing is to stick with the plan. You've said it yourself, the urge. I believe once you realized what is your weakness you could be better.

Please allow me to contribute something.
You can change the direction of your life in an instant.

I have a background in NLP, Neural Linguistic Programming. Let's keep it simple and effective.

Neural – The Brain
Linguistic – language
Programming – like computer programming

In essence, NLP is how the language of the brain affects (programs) our life.

Core Belief  <Beliefs < Decisions <Destiny

DESTINY
Your destiny, where you will end up at some point in the future, the path you are currently on is a direct result of your decisions.

DECISIONS
All decisions are essentially made for only two reasons, to avoid pain or to gain pleasure.

BELIEFS
Based on past references (right or wrong) you set up a belief system that tells you, because of your current beliefs, what is painful and what is pleasurable. (And we all know who's beliefs are right)

CORE BELIEF
All your beliefs come from your core belief, which is everything you think you are and everything you are not.
You express your core belief constantly and in only two ways:
Everything you say
Everything you do

So how can you use this ?

Your DESTINY is directly affected by the decisions you make.
Change a decision, you change your destiny.

Your DECISIONS are directly affected by your current beliefs.
So, change your BELIEFS, and your decisions will evolve and your destiny will change.

So the challenge is to change. Change is painful – right?

The trick is don't try to change, simply expand your possibility, even a little bit, because when you give yourself the permission to expand who you really think you are and what you are capable of, you have already made a change !

Expanding your Core Belief, will alter your belief system, which will affect your decisions and dramatically affect your destiny.

The moment, you decide to remove a limit on who you think you are, and what you think you can do, the change is in process and your destiny changes.

Does this help ?

Garfield

Winning 80$ versus losing $200 is a bad ratio in my opinion.....I would try to get the profit potential up to at least
$ 100 or $ 120....but that's only my opinion.
