You know, I was watching a documentary on how they made the 6 year/season "Las Vegas" TV show.  It had Oscar Goodman the X-mayor of Las Vegas and several producers, casino consultants and historians commenting about the show, how they create an exact replica casino of Mandalay Bay in Los Angels for a studio, etc., etc.

They got to the history of Vegas from the beginning to the 60's/70's go around with the larger and more modern casino resort and then to the 80's retaliation against Atlantic City, etc.  Great pieces about the history.

In the middle of it, they were talking about Bugsy/Benny Siegel and how it was all his vision with taking the sawdust joints to the world class European style fancy casinos.  That was his vision when he put together the Flamingo Casino Hotel.

Hence the point here.  Bugsy opened the casino before the hotel!!!  Huge mistake.  The problem was the players would win money and with no place to stay at the Flamingo to lose it back--no place to be whined and dined---they won money there and went back to the other casinos where the players were staying and lose it back at those places while staying at those places.

The Frontier and other nearby places do not lose money, no casinos do--not if you know what you are doing and not if you keep the players playing.  'Keep the players playing'.  The players will lose and lose anything they have won and go into a repetitive process once they taste it.  That is the reason for the restaurants, the bars, the night clubs, the shows, the spas, the elaborate attractions and pools, etc., etc., and so on.

But the bottom line is the time---if players win they will stay, no matter if they are conscious of it or not.  It is all psych--someone handing you money and money and money---you might take a break but you will attempt more and more and more.

I see it all the time, virtually each and every time I go to a casino--does not matter if is east coast, Midwest or Vegas/west coast.  New players or experienced or long term players.  Honestly--100% or darn close to it.  Sure they might get up, take a 10 min or 30 min break, cash out several thousand dollars of win money and they return once again.  The will play and play and buy in and re-buy in, over and over and over until they are wiped out.  They even said out loud their plans to take their win money and leave.  It just does not work that way.  I will tell you something here--many will not admit.  Happens to me until I catch it with a stream of conscious thought, reflection and realization.  I won the other night, at least $10,000 +.  I usually leave, not always--but to me, the casino wins are my 'found lucky money'.  I went to a Wal Mart, put several thousand on my cards, money gram some bills, get a few money orders and 'Wal Mart-to-Wal Mart' a family member a bit of money.  I return to the casino with my original buy-in and another thousand or so on top.  Bought in, win a little and then straight lose, no matter if I employ my own triggers, follow the others that are winning or sporadically a combination.  Lose far in excess of what I would win.  I wound up losing the extra thousand of the win and half of my buy-in was about $1,500.00 that night.  I knew better--but I got sucked in and although the first win came too easy and too quick, I should have stayed away for that night and a few days.  But I got sucked in and my trend of thought was, I can do it again and bigger and better--it is going my way.  Bottom line, I was stupid, dense and failed to adhere to my own statements and threads about time and getting sucked in.

Personally---I found my defense to all this!!!  And, if I would always follow it, I would never ever lose my buy-in or re-buy in after a certain amount of win money.  But, it does not always work out that way--most of the time yes I can apply those things, adhere to them and never think twice about continuing to play.  I wrote about it on the board here, it is about Plateaus and levels.  Hills and Valleys that you are accustomed to and what you are thinking.  Those plateaus, hills and valleys are your blueprint to what you have done and what you can do in a casino.  It is up to you, your skill, your psych and a bit of luck or bad luck where you place yourself.  Period.  Learn it, remember it and always be conscious of those.

The real problem when you get experience with baccarat is the following.  Our experience plays games with our psych and it flips our 'experience', 'common sense', 'real working knowledge' of the game and its complex protocols and our thoughts, etc.  I wholeheartedly believe the more we know and the longer we play--the more we want to challenge the casino and what will eventually be detrimental to us.

THE PURPOSE OF GAMING IS TO WIN!

"Don't say it's a winning hand until you are getting paid for it".

Played numerous properties in Las Vegas, Reno, Southern California, Atlantic City, Connecticut, South Florida, The South/Southeast as well as most areas of The Midwest.

Baccarat, actually a mixture of Watergate, attacking the Gotti Family and the famous ear biting Tyson fight leading to disqualification and a near riot.  Bac has all that & more.
