Yes, it is reality.  For those of you never spending decades in casinos, for those of you not having casino industry management within your immediate family, for those of you so oblivious to winning a few bucks and saying---hey, I can do this professionally, here it is---a sample of what you can look forward to:

So go ahead and play all your spare cash as your BR and replenish as needed.  Go ahead and think the way you do.  The only (ONLY) way around it is with heavy discipline and ultra sincere conservatism.  If you think otherwise, you are a fool.

Of course, you know all this---so DON'T read the attachment, really no need!
Of course, it won't and can't happen to you!
Of course, it won't ever happen to you!
Of course, you are the exception to the rule!
Of course, you are 100% excluded from anything similar to the attachment!
Of course, you have more assets than the casino, you can't go bankrupt!  No way!
Of course, you are knowledgeable and know every pitfall and downfall!
Of course............................................Like I said----'Of Course'.................

The house will always win ITLR, the house will always offer to pay you tons of cash for basically 'not--working', the house will always welcome you and treat you with the respect and admiration you so deserve, the house will always ...................................................

Oh darn, really don't even know why I am posting this, every single one of you are so intelligent and the gambling skills you possess are all second to none!  Guess I am a tad bit bored at work and thought I need some exercise for my fingers!

I also forgot, how no one here ever really loses or spends more money in a casino than they planned to when they decided to go win some more money on their bankroll.

I have bought tons of stuff from them over the years, for non-profit work I sponsored, for giveaways at fairs and carnivals, etc.  LOL, read the attached.  But hey---only for those of you that don't truly know everything!

Gambling comes with no classrooms, no instruction manuals, no warnings.  Think about other sports and competition events, etc.  Most if not all have teachers, warnings, workshops, school instructions, etc., etc., and so on.

I have ran into people years later and two stick in my mind.  One from Atlantic City, New Jersey.  used to gamble with the guy almost every weekend for a couple of years if not 3 years.  He owned 3 really nice, couple hundred seat fancy restaurants in the North Jersey coast shoreline.  He also had a beautiful 6,000 SF plus house in that area.  He was playing a consistent $25k to 50k buy in at baccarat.  I ran into him back in 2008 after having moved from New Jersey/NYC in 2002.  He was living in a run down motel in Atlantic City with a room mate.  He lost everything gambling in A.C. It was extremely sad cause this guy and myself, we were tangible and I knew him and we used to also eat together and hang out here and there.  I ate many times in his restaurants and if anyone knows the area, those nicer restaurants up on the shore are all pretty well to do and the owners have lots of $$$ and time invested in them.  Sad, really sad.

The other person was a guy out in California.  Used to know him from the tables and we were both in the same kind of business at the time.  I also ran into him a few years ago.  He lost everything as well and even spent time in prison for defaulting on a Las Vegas credit line marker.  His business had to be worth millions, easily without a doubt.  But he gambled it all away.

Reading about this stuff and actually knowing people and seeing it.......way different.  Just a moment to share it with those that of course.....don't know everything.

Darn, when you buy a chain saw you get all kinds of instructions and warnings with it.  Not even a chain saw.  Just a darn cordless drill or a impact driver.  As with so many things in work and hobbies and sports, all kinds of warning, workshops, teachers, and  materials attached.  The only thing with casinos is the poster talking about getting help if you need it, but of course that is only for compulsive gambler's that admit they are compulsive.  The poster is not for the person cashing in his assets and neglecting his work or business while he is playing every hand and attempting to crush the casino.  LOL, I got to stop now, I am trying to eat a sandwich and really don't want to laugh!

Nope, it is reality and concerns Baccarat very much so.  "It is what it is".  Play how you feel and play to win, I never said otherwise.  Just know the picture you are within.  Of course, none of this pertains to you, no need to answer or read the thread....................Of course................................................ 8)

I have an almost 4 year old boy that plays with his transformers, star wars and turtles all day or half the night, never running out of things to engage all his little friends with.  I looked at him the other day and asked him, "Hey, you going to keep this stuff up for the next 20 years and then move into your mom's basement"?  And he said, "Nope, just for a few more and then onto archery, go karts, dirt bikes and shooting pool dad".

Maybe you should find the losers anonymous section of this site and post there.  The sheer hell bent effort some of you put into wanting to lose is mind blowing.  why are you even posting this in Baccarat?

I really couldn't care less how much experience any of you have or think you have.  When you check in during an NBA game do they register your game experience first?  I see many of the same players every day.  They are there before I am and often there after.   Of course they have the Ocean's 11 money printer at home to cover all of their losses so they can just keep on losing day in and day out.

You can walk into most any store in the city right now and by any sort of knife and injure yourself right quick.  So what.  You can wander down to the ocean or river and get yourself into big trouble within minutes.  So what.  I almost got in a huge accident last night on the way to my house to play because some jack thought the laws of physics didn't apply and they could somehow drive through me.  I bet if I was on my way to the grocery store it never would have happened!

Your attitude reminds me of my brother who was a State Trooper for well over 25 years in N.J., and he told me people say and chastise others with their real personality and ways.  Eventually he went into the Organized Crime Control Bureau an elite division of the State Police.  He always told me, when he stopped someone for a traffic infraction on the Garden State Parkway or the NJ Turnpike, he patrolled for years, each motorists made up his mind if they were receiving a citation or a warning within the first few seconds of his encounter.

Your words... "I really couldn't care less"  will get you a long way in life, especially when you transpose yourself within the videos and cartoons you so very much love.  Peace out, be good kid.

It's actually good to see someone with maturity post on these boards.  Gambling has given me so much in the way of spirituality but unfortunately one just can't pass this wisdom on to the young folk...they know everything.  It's very expensive to find out we live in a world with more dimensions than those that can be explained with mathematics.  For me it was worth it even though the lows are so low.

I choose to continue gambling because nothing else takes me to other dimensions that gambling does.  I started as a mathematician though.  What a ride!

Good or bad I still think I will beat the bastards.  Fighting yourself is hard.  Well I don't say too much here, there's no one here ready to hear unfortunately.  I wait patiently to find others one day who see what I see.  But I definitely think you are on your way there.
The main skills I use to beat the casino are ignorance and confidence, it amazingly works just like Mark Twain said it would.

Show me a happy loser and I'll show you a loser!

Mars is the God of War btw, and I'm at war with the casino.

Mars Rocks,

Thanks, and it is absolutely true about what a casino can do to a lot of us.  I have had great times, bad times and idol times within many casinos all over the USA.  I have won lots, the number is around $200k in a night off a $12k buy-in.  I have lost my entire front money/bank roll brought, of course too.  I have washed even countless times along with every other conceivable combination possible.  Baccarat and at select times a bit of blackjack.

Seems there is a protocol that catches many people, where the newer players experience a period of wins before their loses, then they become convinced that they can 'beat' the casino.  Some do for a short period of time and the majority gets caught up in a whirlwind of turmoil.  Attitude is good, hell in sports a negative attitude will get you no where.  Almost the same in gambling, however, the problem with the other side being stronger than the player, is the player has somewhat limited sources of funding before his failures will cause him troubles.  That is the point I was trying to explain and put out there, 'food for thought'.

PLEASE NOTE:  I was not trying to demean or humiliate anyone.  Seriously.  However, so many are totally oblivious to 'failing to win' at a session.  Has nothing to do with smarts, intelligence or education.  I have seen some brilliant people playing and I know what they outside the casino.

IMO, there are two things and two things only (maybe a 3rd of drugs and alcohol for some---but I am not addressing substance abuse) that mess people up and the way they think and act in a situation.  1)  Sex and 2) Gambling.  Period. Done.

There are down falls and pitfalls, the casino puts them there and they are 100% correct in the upper 90 percentile of everything.  Time played for comps, play more win more, points, recognition, etc., etc., the list is long.  A word of advise from someone that has gambled about 35 years and has numerous people in upper casino management in his family.  Do just about the opposite of what the casino, the casino hosts and the casino protocol says or asks you to do.

Funny how a young man will take thousands or tens of thousands of dollars to a casino and lay it down and risk it.  Without seeking advise, asking questions, following someone he trusts, etc.  When that same individual 999 times out of 1,000---would never think of buying a professional race car and entering a race without the proper protocols or anything of the like.

However, and a huge however, those that can't believe this or won't and are successful like only losing one time in 50 serious casino attempts playing, you are actually that 1,000th person out of 1,000. >>>AND, if you are truly that person, if you did not stop when you won, and you continue to gamble---you will fall and fall harder then the rest of us, 1,000,000% without a second thought. If you don't think so or believe that, you might as well stick a live grenade up your rear-end and pull the pin, I'm sure it won't bother you one bit.

Here is one more analogy that will hold the same truth as what I been trying to get across.  2 people marry, the divorce is not 2 or 3 days later.  There are series of events that happen down the road.  That of course is the road of life and people.  You don't always have control or the decision making process in that situation.  However, you do in the casino, you and you alone.  The casino road is everything you choose and make it to be.  It is not as everyone thinks, go in and plunk down $500, or $1,500 or $10,000 or more and walk out with ten fold or 20 fold your buy-in repeatedly.  It doesn't work like that, never did and never will.

There are consequences and for those that know the possible realities of them you are ahead and for those that do not believe that or think that they are not subject to any of them--you are an accident brewing.

A couple of months ago I met a very nice gentlemen at my local casino.  The guy was about 30, college grad and very well spoken, mannered and has a wife and a few kids.  He was doing very well playing.  Most of the time winning.  Playing about $300 to $800 USD a hand.  Wagering sporadically throughout the shoe.  Won tens of thousands of dollars in a 2 month or so period.  Doesn't matter on the exact figures, but I am pretty close here.

Comes up to me a little while back.  You know, I won all that money on a $1,000 or so buy in that I risked at most.  The first few times always turning $100 or $200 into an easy thousand or two.  I gave it all back, every dollar I won and then an equal amount of my savings chasing it back again.  Word for word, "How do they do it, how did I fall for this"?

I swear to god, this is exactly what happened.  I never had someone so bluntly tell me this and with that confused and dumbfounded look in one's face.

Even the best players can lose at times, but if you have skill then you exploit your strength in the game to win on a net basis.  I would expect the bluest of blood with advanced degrees to have no better success than anyone else if they are not applying themselves correctly.  That is the beauty of the game.  It doesn't care whether you went to Harvard.

Some of you seem to get the idea that winning players go in with some cocky wreckless attitude when it is quite the opposite. AND they are subject to the same wild nature of play, the same errors, the same risks, the same pitfalls, and the same dynamics as everyone else.

Also, gambling is not the only arena where people go in ill-prepared.  Try trading against Goldman, JP Morgan Chase, or Virtu Financial and central banks.   Financial markets are on records as being fully rigged to the nth degree.  This far surpasses anything a casino does who actually presents games of chance in a structured manner.

How many stories do you think islanders have of some tourist grabbing a surf board and trying to take on North Shore?
