Why do you think/believe that the casinos removed virtually all of the big 14 seat player/3 dealer baccarat tables, where the players would physically take the shoe and deal until they made a player hand and then pass the shoe counter clockwise to the next player?

Played numerous properties in Las Vegas, Reno, Southern California, Atlantic City, Connecticut, South Florida, The South/Southeast as well as most areas of The Midwest.

Baccarat, actually a mixture of Watergate, attacking the Gotti Family and the famous ear biting Tyson fight leading to disqualification and a near riot.  Bac has all that & more.

What do IU think?

The casino is F--cking  the duck as always..Speed up  the game.

Not exactly.  They always had mini baccarat where the dealer dealt and players never touched the cards, etc.

The main reason the majority got rid of the big table baccarat was the way player's played in concert as a usual in comparison to today's Midi/Macau style bac table.  14 people equate to about 2 tables today and although they cut down on the same amount of personnel by 1 dealer and 1 floor person, the amount of money is lesser in two midi tables than 1 big table.  The players since the intro of Midi around 2000 or so is almost opposite style as to what the big table was.  It was an everyday thing where players would go on runs and streaks and wound up taking money from the big bac tables far greater times than when compared to Midi and Macau style.  Runs and streaks meaning, repeating banker or players, chops, doubles, whatever, anything where the players would group up and capitalize, doesn't mean just long bankers or players. True, they try the same thing on Midi tables today, but the group efforts are far from the same and the animosity between players is huge--when before it was trivial.  Either everyone lost together or everyone took the casino for sizable amount together, today what happens is both kinds of players just generally get grinded down.

It is more advantageous for the casinos not to offer big table baccarat for many reasons and that is ones.  I have a few family members in management at 3 different gaming venues and all said the same exact thing when Midi/Macau was being intro'd in the USA.

The style of play is different, the min's are usually lower, the players enter the game with considerably less bankroll's and the majority of the times cannot outlast a short section of bad hands they cannot capitalize on.  Lots of bigger money players get thrown sideways when the aforesaid happens and 8-14 players stacking up wagers on one side or the other rarely happens these days as compared to when there was big table bac only, at least in the high limit rooms.

You can sit there and say impossible, you can say you can win just as much on a Midi table as you can a big table (pre-2000-ish), you can say players never won on the big tables, etc.  All contrary, the casino did it because they knew the mentality of the game and they found a way to pretty much stop the $100k to $500k drains from the rack.

Again, it was in favor of the casino and lots more than just speeding up the game or the appearance of speeding up the game.  If that was the case, they would have instituted a 'player has to wager every hand rule' such as in blackjack.

Why do you think the casino is adding 3 '000' roulette, went to and is going to more 6:5 Blackjack, cutting down on comps??

I hate the Wynn/Encore in Vegas.  A super pompous property with the mentality of taking care of the losing players rather than the players on a level board of theo and risk money.   Anyway, my wife was at The Wynn a couple of months ago and we have played only a few times there and its been a while.  She was with others not spending a lot on gambling at all, they were holding a bachelorette party.  I called my buddy from California whom gambles a lot there and asked him to call his host and get him to cross-comp her a few dinners and a spa treatment.  He said no problem, we've done this before.  Calls me back in a hour and said his host apologized and they have a new rule there.  The player they are comp-ing must be present to get this done.

It's all changing, everything in favor of the casino.  If they are doing it, you can bet it doesn't favor the player any longer.

There is talk about RNG's over on another thread and how some think casinos manipulate outcomes that are supposed to be random.  Some say no way, some say 100% they do and yet others says, they can stay in a grey area and still be in compliance, etc.

What about the psychological aspect of the player.  Like when casino personnel deliberately get the play upset and 'push his buttons'.  Thinking clear is a key to good wagering and playing.  Getting the player off-balance and upset is a huge down side to the player.  Yet, the highest majority of players will not realize that and only get them selves into a frame of mind, 'now I am going to really smack this casino and take their money'.  It happens and happens all the time.

If you don't think, at least in many of the high limit rooms, that the pit personnel are not schooled and encouraged to mess with the player, you are dead wrong.  Please don't take this out of context as to what I said. I will give you a firm example here.

A few years ago I was at the Wynn.  I arrived and went to the cage in the high limit Asian area and opened my front money account.  I deposited $20k cash and the cashier counted it twice on the machine, printed out my receipt and opened my account.  Doesn't take but a few minuets at most.  Same all over Vegas.  Then go to any table, tell the floor person you want a marker, they call the cage, verify and cut out your chips.  Almost all of the casinos, at least the ones on mid-strip and the other larger ones will cut it out without waiting for the pit clerk to do her paperwork and come over, which will take a good 5 to 8 minuets.  My buddy was playing at the table I went to before depositing my money and he was winning, winning pretty good at that.  A minute later, turned into 5 and 5 turned into 10.  I kept asking the floor who appeared to be on the phone and kept ignoring me.  My buddy finally slid me over $10k in chips and told me don't get upset, just play, no problem they will get your money soon.  The floor came over and asked me for my receipt, gave it him and he went back to the phone.  Well, a good 15 to 20 minutes went by before the pit clerk finally came over with the slip to sign.  I already lost the 10k my buddy gave me and I was really upset, couldn't think straight.  I paid my buddy back and took the remaining $10k and cashed out.  I went back over to the same cashier that took my initial deposit no more than 30 minuets earlier and she fumbled, phoned and stalled.  Finally gave me $10k for the chips I turned in.

Take it for what it is worth.  At times this stuff happens and it is not normal.  I have also seen heated arguments where the floor will rattle someone's cage big time and square off on them, they were winning.  When someone with a legitimate complaint that is losing, they might get treated differently and do many of the times.

The only time I have seen management mess with big players is on attempts at exchanging cash for chips mid-play.  A few players were willing to step in and cover, but there was no absolute guarantee that they would be repaid, right?  I took it as intentional delay of game by management.

Unless it is a slam dunk outrageous progression, odds are good enough the player's bet selection in the short term could be wrong.  This is very similar to retail banking were there are very tight restrictions on most every form of money transaction offered by global banking firms with how much in assets under management?

If you want to find a good example on the financial side, try to withdraw or wire substantial amounts of money.
