I thought this might be useful for playing around with progressions, so I made a little console app. It writes a WL registry to a file and you can specify (1) what the win rate % is, and (2) how many outcomes you want. It saves all outcomes to a file which you name when you run the program.

1. Download the attached file and unzip it.
2. Open a Windows console and change to the folder where the application is.
3. Type "LWgenerator <percentage> <number> <filename>" and hit <ENTER>

<percentage> is the win rate %. This MUST be a whole number (no decimals).
<number> is the number of outcomes you want to generate.
<filename> name of the file you want to save the generated WL's to.

So to generate 500 outcomes with a win rate of 35% and save them to a file called "myfile", type this:

LWgenerator 35 500 myfile

Note that this is a quick and dirty app. I haven't added any error checking so if the inputs have the wrong format it will probably crash the program.

P.S. If anyone wants a Linux version, let me know and I'll upload it.

I could not use it. Can somebody illustrate an easy way to operate it?

Sheesh.

Real men know how to use the command line. I'm surrounded by a bunch of quiche-eating, namby-pamby GUI clickers!  :P

Actually, I want to add some stats showing the W/L streak lengths, so I'll add a GUI to it this weekend.

You could always go to random.org and use the random integer generator.

Set the integers to between 1 & 2
Set the columns to 1
Set the format to bare bones text.

Once you have the integers paste them into a word document then press control F (you can do this too now Sam! :)) )
Type 1 into the search dialogue box and note how many there are
Overtype 2 into the search dialogue box and note how many there are
Note which integer has the highest tally

Now you can go back and forward to random.org and cherry pick the results until you have the exact randomly generated win % you need for any wL test.

Once you have a suitable win % click the small arrow in the search window then click replace
Type 1 or 2 into the 'Find what' dialogue box and type W or L into the 'Replace with' dialogue box.
Click 'Replace all'

Repeat the opposite and there you have it.

Basic stuff, but it works real good.

With Bayes' program you can taylor the win % 1st go, but if you're not that fussed about the exact % then the random.org method is good enough.

Good explanation, i use random org.
I getting strike ratio around 55% 60% 65% playing even money bets.
