Seems this is related to graphic acceleration bypassing window's regular video memory. The workaround points to be disabling hardware acceleration.

I'll get back at you. We need to sort this to make this and future clickers work on every casino.

OK Sam, I found two workarounds.

1) Disable it for java:

Quotehere's how to turn HA off: Control Panel -> Java Control Panel -> Java. Press the button 'Show', then double click in the field 'Runtime-Parameter' and type or paste in: -Dsun.java2d.noddraw=true
Source

2) Disable it for all Windows programs (easier, recommended):

How to enable or disable Hardware Acceleration in Windows® 7

Notice you want to keep it all the way to the left in NONE while trying the clicker.

Keep us posted.

Before I do this, could you (or someone) tell me what a hardware accelerator is?  Will this affect other programs running on this computer?

Hi Sam, sure.

Technical article at Wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hardware_acceleration

Layman explanation: Hardware acceleration means bypassing Windows to achieve a goal.

Here, instead of letting windows (software) process the casino video, they use your video card (hardware) directly, keeping windows out as the "middle man" thus speeding up the process.

After your video card processes the video, it is drawn on the casino rectangle directly.

This means windows doesn't know anything about the casino video itself; that's why the capture is black.

Yes. If you turn hardware acceleration off by setting the slider to NONE, any other program which bypasses windows to accelerate its functionality can get slower.

Chances are it will slow down games, video players and most likely sites such as youtube and others which can render video directly as well.

Good thing is you can always set the slider back once your casino betting session ends. This isn't as invasive as it might look and doesn't really stops the features, only the acceleration (i.e. performance will be slower, but it will all go through Windows' control so it'll behave "just normal" again).

I get down to the point where it says "change settings" and it says I can only do this if my driver permits.  Now the little box is not blue and you can't tick it so I suppose my driver is defunct or on rum and coke.

I'll try this on another computer today and see what I get.

Love a good rum and Coke. Yummmm!

Hopefully we sort this black screen to make it work on every casino out there.

OK, let's scratch the black screen thing; chances are I'll deal with it on the framework.

Let's finish this 'ware :). What's left to call this a full proggie with all you need Sam?

Just needs to work with Dublin.  That's my main casino to play the G.U.T.

Thanks

Samster, it seems to work fine under Windows 7 (default settings), with Java 7.

You might want to try it on a virtual machine.

Samster, just letting you know I'm doing a re-boot under a simpler code-base to (finally) finish it! O:-)

When you get some spare time, do confirm if the screen capture worked on the virtual machine
