“There is no truth. There is only perception.”

― Gustave Flaubert

This is the epitome of a gambling-related quote.

With as many ways to track the same events as people can figure-out, we can say none of the events exist in reality; they are only perceived. But at the same time, ALL the events exist because they are real events to each of the trackers/observers.

So the next time somebody tells you there is no system, you can tell them your system does exist. Now, whether it wins or not is debatable. When dealing with infinity everything is, and everything isn't (at the same time).

Having said that, it is better to use a point of reference for our perceptions when trying to understand an infinite stream of numbers than nothing.

Just like in space's infinity there is no sense of up or down, above or below or anything else regarding direction and yet we use points of reference, in the unlimited flow of numerical events of randomness it is perfectly valid to use our very own directional ways.

...Don't put down someone else's systems/ways so easily. They are as valid as the other way around:

Because even the holy of holiest method anyone in our mankind can find is prone to failure when facing infinity. (Just run a 24/7 True Random Number Generator with enough computing power and see).

But still, is IS a winning system for the person using it during his/her lifetime for extracting money out of the casino consistently. Both concepts are and aren't at the same time. Depending on who you are.

Randomness and uncertainty is absolute truth in gambling. Can someone deny?

A guys goes to center court and puts a basketball through the hoop for $20,000.  Now, he has made more money at basketball than nearly every person in the world.

He has played his Martingale and won.

Now, let's see him do it again.  And again.

I'm coming back to Ralph:  It's all luck.

"There is no truth. There is only perception."

Am I the only one who finds that quote somewhat frightening? If it's true...

When two witnesses to the same event give different accounts (as so often happens) then the quote has a ring of truth -- according to my perception.

Interesting, hmmm?  (According to my perception.)

See?  It's a sort of endless loop -- according to my perception.

We...as humans....try to make sense out of nonsense.

Its unique to humans.

random numbers are nonsense.

esoito

"random numbers are nonsense."

Yes, indeed.

And the obvious corollary to that is that playing games based on random numbers is also nonsense.

Assuming, of course, that the above quote is correct.

It's all a matter of perception, really.

yes i agree with esoito here...playing games of random numbers is just as wasting  your crucial time on something not worth at all... :forbidden: stop it guyz

Quoterandom numbers are nonsense.

First statement is perception, second could be truth for losers.

QuoteThe coloring of the rainbow is nothing more than a shared (reliable, consistent, and kick-behind) illusion.

Reminds me of this particular quote:

"Reality is merely an illusion, albeit a very persistent one."

only martingale or grand martingale is the real way to beat roulette... :cheer: don't know how much time it will last though

YES. If we play hypothetically having infinite chips and unlimited table, they are sure shot way to win. In real world where we can not have any of these (infinite chips or unlimited table/bet spread), they are the worst way to play.

What appears to be random in Roulette is only a very very complex movement of numbers in a non-linear system.
