Look at these definitions (by winmaxx)

QuoteDEVIATION (Ecart):
a deviation is the unequal frequency between two opposite chances in a section of a permanence. For example : if in the last twenty spins 14 red and 6 black numbers came out we have an Ecart on red.

BALANCE (Equilibrium):
the equilibrium of two opposite chances in a section of a permanence. For example 10 red and 10 black numbers within the last twenty spins.

In my experience I chiefly play deviations games but sometimes I feel that things will balance and I have risked a little off the record for balance . but overall I play deviations much more.

Please share which one do you use most in your personal game. And why.

Deviation, because it is supported by maths.

what happened to my image?

I play for neither.

I make a pick and place my bet and the wheel does the rest, spin by spin. It can balance, it can deviate. I have no control over what the wheel does so my best action is to allow the wheel complete freedom to do as it will.

My only task is to cleverly maintain my bankroll and keep edging it forward.

On a side note, in my opinion allowing the wheel complete freedom of expectation is the first step forward in developing your intuitive awareness, if that is your thing.

I don't even play Roulette, so the mention of wheel spins mean nothing to me

This approach is quite rare in itself. 99% of the systems play one or the other. To not play this way feels a little lacking in context. I guess that is intuition. No context is needed . just put the bet where it is believed to come out.

I almost always encounter events that are playing nearby. temporary deviations in the game or as some call it: the trend.

Fortunately that well learn you never forget. With respect to both roulette and baccarat: The other day I asked the question of whether it is a good to play balance in the short term. No millions of sets as the casino casino but in the small sessions we played.

You said the reasons for using deviations. Can you tell us if there is any reason to risk playing some cards for a little balance? Or you would never touch a balance trigger? Thank you very much.

Hi wannawin,

Sorry I didn't relate that very well.

By play for neither I meant I have no preference for either. My bet selection will sometimes be on the deviation and sometimes on the balance, although that's not why I'm betting them.

Like I said, the wheel will do as it will so there's no use asking it to cooperate.

Because the maths supports it. When I am not in the situation of having to bet every hand, I look for reasons to make a bet, could be one of my templates, it could be something else.  In regards to betting the Imbalance, I do things in my own unique style, because I know in the short term betting Imbalance v's Equilibrium can be rather weak (if I ever take this bet option, it is an after thought).  Besides the Birthdays Paradox which can also be weak yet superior to Imbalance v's Equilibrium, then again, to take both those statements further.  Every conceivable bet Baccarat bet option resolves to a 50-50 state when tested against a set of truth tables, which signifies Baccarat is more a MM game.

Now just to confuse the issue further, I did play Imbalance v's Equilibrium against all 3 EC's many years ago, 6~7 nights per week and didn't lose for a month, then it became too much of a battle against cheating dealers, one casino even went as far as to change to a heavier ball to enable their staff to better control it.  A graphic of how I did this, is on that roulette30 forum, so go look there if you are interested.

For once, I agree with my beloved buddy Rolex.  :)

Deviation is the norm, balance is the exception.

Other than what the common experience dictates, many brilliant works demonstrated it.
Anyway, imho, roulette is totally unbeatable.

Deviation that works into balance, but subjective and unpredictable in short term casino play.

Excessive deviation that has to lead towards comparatively better outcomes by the principle of "Regression towards mean" or "law of large numbers". One should be able to differentiate between "RTM" or "Law of Large numbers" and "Gamblers' Fallacy".
