All,

Really guys.   Is your ego so weak that the mere mention of a comment or remark that "you" don't like causes you to blow up and start deleting individual messages?

Although when the topic came up in an Admin meeting, I voted against having a thread starter being able to delete messages, I was outvoted and the ability became a reality.

So, let's give some thought about removing messages in your own thread.  Unless there is a true reason to remove a message (something not suitable for a civilized human to view/read) then leave it alone.  Thread continuity is important and although we've had several "high profile" members literally take their ball and go home, removing entire threads, we really don't need to behave like that.   In other forums where this has happened, it just looks silly and childish.   Uh, kind of like it did here!

So, if you have a problem with a message, mark it for the Admin and let them take care of it.

Or, if a few words really bother you on whatever it is you've written, you may be in the wrong sport of gambling.

I am guilty of having deleted messages on my other threads precisely because I wanted the continuity of the topic.

Maybe the posts be valid but if they have nothing to do with the discussion then the creator of the thread has every right to send a message to remove the erratic post. Well , this is my opinion.

without a doubt I prefer a forum where I can delete over one where I have to swallow everything another person pleases to publish in my topics .  be it relevant with regards to him or not. it is my topic and I like to retain the power to say what course it will take.. Maybe I am a control freak.
say things directly to show respect for other people's time. Walter.

Maybe it's your ego that's so weak ADulay, that even though you got outvoted on the topic, that you still feel the need to go on about it. Do you feel it diminishes your authority that people can be responsible for their own threads?

If someone just wants to make snide remarks in a thread without really making the effort to give any constructive criticism, then I feel it's warranted for the author of that thread to delete the post.
If you fail to know, fail to prepare, fail to plan and practice, then know full well that you are knowingly preparing and planning to lose. What you don't know and don't do will be your undoing.

If the author of his or her own thread wants to delete messages he or she feels is not adding value to the purpose of the thread, he or she should have that right to do so. I'm not sure what's the big deal with that.  To me, this is not an ego thing, more of polite housekeeping. Sounds like if there was a vote on the topic, this case should be closed.

The apparent majority has spoken.

I stand corrected.

My ego is unbruised.

Delete as necessary.

Censorship  in any form is dictatorial.

Whiskeypete

It's not censorship if you are the author of the thread.
Now however dictating what is censorship is in fact dictatorship.

I will delete infinity if you're not all very careful!! [smiley]cactus/r000.gif[/smiley]

ADuly back home in Ireland we have a saying it goes don't mash your potatoes in the same pot as you boil them. You should try to be more like St Vincent and humble yourself. That message wasn't directed to you nye did I call you a facist.
Now I know you may feel the world revolves around you but I'm sure it doesn't. Not everything is about you.
Now I know you like to make yourself seem important. Good luck with that.

Wow.  You really do read way more into a message than I had thought possible.

Please allow me to humble myself before thee.

I don't recall saying you called me a facist.  Please read the message.

Why would I have any need to make myself seem important?  It's a gambling forum.  Who would care?

You have engaged me here and in another forum.  I have tried to be helpful (and humble) but evidently that won't work.

Perhaps you can suggest a plan for me to become more acceptable in your eyes?  This would make me feel so much better in the morning.

Speaking of the morning, I'll be headed to Daytona Bike Week in the morning, so please take your time to consider what it is I need to do to make you happy.   If I can break away from the fun and games with people who don't sit at a computer all day, I'll try to read what you have come up with as a solution.

Thank you for proving my point.  I have not engaged you at all. Sorry Tarzan, I just don't swing that way. Nice bike though, I'll show you a pic of my can-am in the snow.....certainly that will make me look cool.

While discussing the deletion of messages, it is unfortunate the scam that Mark Teruya was involved in is no longer around.

Also heavily involved, was our own moderator Andy Dulay aka seahog, who from memory was rather scathing on those that complained MAVERICK DID NOT WORK  He tried to claim he was only a gate-keeper because he knows about BB software, hogwash, he was directly involved in promoting people to join the forum at a cost, and then lambasted those that discovered it was all a scam.

Well done ADulay our moderator, who's is well known for promoting various Ellis scams over the years.

Rolex or whomever you are this month,'

Please take it up with Victor if you would like me removed as a Moderator on this forum.

Your constant whining about my gambling life is really getting tiresome.

The constant corrections to your slanted postings involving my name are no longer worth the time to fix.

I can only imagine what would get posted if I gave the results of the last two casino sessions.   :applause:
