Title: What does it take to be the very last forum we'll ever need?
Post by: VLS on September 19, 2014, 04:14:52 AM
We are a close-knit community. We are a small, like-minded group; we are comprised of unique members and each and every one of us is an asset in his/her own way.

This is most-valuable and worth preserving. I'm saying this because I'm making a long-term commitment to this board. It might not be evident from your side of the screen, yet I'm currently employing most of my leisure time and "night shift" time to coding for our BetSoftware, mostly because I believe it has a long-term potential to impact our community positively.

Likewise, this thread has been opened to gather opinions on what it is that we need to be the very last forum our close-knit community will ever need open. We are human, malleable, and above all there's a will to rectify and make things better.

Here's some of what is most evident:

Becoming free from Steve's ad – It's already talked. We only need to cover for it.

In-house games – Doable.

Chatroom – Doable.

...and now feel free to suggest yours.

You really do need to fix up this board in respect when you type the cursor freezes, skips letters, locks up

Agreed. It's very annoying, and should take priority.

6th attempt to type this.I am actually typing in the dark and waiting 30 seconds to see what I typed
I think the site looks cluttered. I much prefer the simple VLS or CC. But before you fix all these annoying basic typing issues, can you priorotize an icon that depicts a sad chicken holding a grapefruit dressed as Henry VIII (the chicken not the grapefruit) This is by far the most urgent.

What is most apparent to me is that the first thing is to exist. Donations buttons come and go when they should be published at all times. If I am feeling generous or appreciative at some point I can not give: Fail.

In my opinion first fix the perception out there that when it approaches the end of the month it will close because nobody gave anything. Once that it is fixed then yes worry about what happens with emoticons in messages.

First worry about being a homeowner before worrying about the furnishings.  Greetings.

An indiscreet question: You stopped playing roulette as a winner or changed the game of roulette for baccarat because you could not win roulette? Or you can win both?

If we dismiss the dealer would you say that with deep study a player can win both games or only baccarat is beatable? many thanks.

October is our anniversary month. Chances are we'll give our forum a "goodie" in the form of either a re-install or new features such as in-house games (time permitting).

We can't let our 2nd anniversary  pass without celebrating our space [smiley]skype/yes.gif[/smiley]

We give it "goodies"! :)

Chances are it's the new post page. I'm currently balacing local work + BetSoftware.

Since the new post page seems to be the most wanted mod, that's where 'web coding' time should be spent more heavily .

(BTW, you can follow progress on BetSoftware's public sources at: http://github.com/betselection)

October's young

Commitment to respect contributors, maintain harmony and unbiased attitude and overall a commitment to never try to sell the community. If you can't handle it, let anybody else do this. I can never respect the decision of selling a community on one pretext or other. Either it is not a community in true sense for you or you can not think of selling it or closing it ever. If we stand by you in bad times and contribute financially, to run it, we do not expect it to be sold or closed.
