I have a question for fellow baccarat players.

Have any of you deduced down a 'better' time to play than others.  Meaning--time of day or day of week.  After years of playing, have any of you in your locales found days or times you just can't win at??

No need for long discussions or even explanations, simply an answer as to what favors your prevailing time and days, etc.

Thanks.

If you are MOST BOSS it doesn't matter because you can drive a shoe by yourself, but for the majority of players a lot of activity (more tables and more players) translates to better opportunity.  7:00 pm until however late in the morning should be prime time.  That should give you enough time to get it up or know that you are just trading chips back and forth.  If you strike hard and effectively, and have a lead to work with you can stop out or grind above your stop as much as you want to hence the late hours if you want.

Holidays and big events will always be a factor and on any given night you should keep an eye on how busy the floor is throughout the session.

Every night I see remarkable shoes with prime opportunity.   Generating more of those means having a lot of tables at work.

I have found holidays, the actual day and event is not the greatest advantage for the gambler, at least me.

By myself most times is not conducive.

Camaraderie is best if the players click together.

Early evening to later in the evening.  Not middle of the night or early morning for those jurisdictions that go all the time.

Again, personally, IMO.

Great question!!... For me my daily routine is playing every single day around 11:30pm Pacific time!... Get my 4 units a day and leave!.. stack up day by day to take bigger bets!!... ONLY 1 shoe a day no matter what!...  You will be surprise how quickly your units stack up over time!!....I'hve been doing this for 6 months or so now... I'm doing Fairly well with this Style of play, other small things I do on top of that also....

Qswagger, my friend told me a story of someone she knew used to bring 6k to the casino to make $100/day. He did this for a few years and made really good money. Than one day his luck totally changed and the losses kept coming and im pretty sure he started upping his bets chasing. Long story short, he lost all his money and his family left him and last she heard of him was homeless out on the streets. I don't know the details on what game he played or what his technique was. So its great you're on a nice streak but if it somehow turns, keep everything in perspective and don't chase.

I would like to try to keep the thread on track with best times and days playing and the such....

However, a side note to what was just said.  Lots of players go broke of all size bank rolls.  I have witnessed the exact same thing numerous times.

Two come to immediate mind.  One was in Atlantic City prior to 2000.  Used to play there every weekend or darn close to that anyway.  This is in the days of the 'big table' and no such thing as Midi/Macau style. etc.  $100 to $10k limits, at certain off-times the lowest min. would be $50.00.  There was this one gentlemen and always staying to himself, he made himself stand out because he would never ever 'join the crowd' or share anything with anybody.  And, in those days that was strange, unlike today where the 'head in the hand' is pretty common S.O.P. it seems.  So, this gentlemen always had envelopes inside of his sport jacket pocket with sums of $10,000.00.  I remember to this very day.  This went on for years.  He would come in and almost always, wager on Players side with sizable wagers and use progressions, basically what happens today as a norm.  And I mean, $1,000.00 or $2,000.00 to start and then $2k or $4k and then $4k or $8k.  I believe he had a $20k limit at the time, maybe $25k.  Atlantic City back then was strictly $10k unless you were an extremely known player and had front money or a several year established player, etc.  He did fairly well, making his one or two units.  While the rest of us were doing the steady repeat wagering or the alternating, this guy would almost always wager Players and stay on it with progression no matter what.  A few years went by, always the same, never changed.  And what was also so noticeable, his girlfriend or wife would stand behind him, almost behind him or just to the rear and side of the back of his chair.  These were those high back larger high-limit room chairs.  Everyone else in the high limit room would have their wives or girlfriends sit, even if the floor or pit manager had to bring in a regular chair from out on the main floor.  Never ever would she sit.  I told you, after all these years I remember some of the people and this was one of the ones I do.  One night he goes through at least $250k if not considerably more.  Lots and lots of strong Banker runs, I mean like a good 3 to 5 a shoe and a couple would have 10-15 repeating Bankers.  The guy would not back off, not once.  And another thing, never ever showed emotion, win or lose, none, zero!  If he won, get up, pick up the chips and leave, no good byes, no 'see you later', no acknowledgment to the dealers, etc., none.  Same with losing the few times he did, just got up and left.  Then that night he left.  Seen him once after that and he lost a smaller amount of money as well.  After not seeing him for a while, asked our host which was the director of marketing and her 2 brothers were also hosts under her.  She knew everyone.  Learned he lost right at $500k cash within a few weeks and when she went to call him, all his phone numbers were disconnected.  Then talked to a dealer and the dealer told us, the last time he came the only thing he said when he lost his entire buy-in was, 'I am now broke'.  Probably the only thing he ever said.

The other one was another guy who would pull stashed money from inside of an envelope in his pants.  Seen him quite a bit.  No obvious playing abnormalities that really stuck out.  Just a regular player type of person.  One night he goes into his pocket and replenishes his buy-in.  Eventually he lost it. He turns to me and I really didn't know him at all.  He looks at me and is 100% serious, says-'I lost all my money here and it was everything I had to my name', his eyes were swelling up and I sense a tear or two was forthcoming pretty quick.  All I could do is say something along the lines of, 'sorry man-this place will get you'.   It was sad and I am sure there are plenty of others, but it was the real person and the sincerity of him that I will always remember to this day.

That is why I employ my 1/3rd M.M. system and I am a firm believer in what I buy-in with is it, and that is my gambling money--doesn't matter if it's $1k or $50k, with rare occasions I might split a buy-in but I never ever do the repeated trips to the ATM or pulling money to play catch up.  It will bite you in the rear like a hungry pit bull on a mission, might not be tonight, might not be tomorrow, might not be for a year, but it will 1,000,000% each and every time, eventually.

Thanks for that!!... I'm very very conservative when playing!!... I honestly look at it as an saving account!!... Stack it up and let it sit an forget about it!!!.... Simple lol if things starts to turn, ill just go down a bankroll an build it up again....No rush in my attack at all....

The first 2 hours are always the best for me.    After a period of time it always seems to become
harder to tune into what the shoe is doing.  When there are players at the table that are not afraid
to bet,  it seems to keep moving.  Many of the players risk such a large portion of their bank that
when they miss 2  or  3  hands they lock up and start getting out of their comfort zone.  It all seems
to go south from there.   I don't remember losing very much in the beginning of my sessions, but
a long session seems to always take it's toll.

I really like the times when I am able to change tables .  Certain times of the day limit the availability
of tables.  Where I play the dealers allow the players to take forever to make a move.
Shoes sometimes take 2-3 hours to complete 80 hands.

Thanks for posting 'MB', I like the insight, agree on most as well.  Especially on the focusing.

Mars Rocks

I like afternoon shift.  My mind has woken up and is at it's best.  Evenings are for relaxing.  Only reason for still playing in the evening is if you are chasing, which I don't like to.
The main skills I use to beat the casino are ignorance and confidence, it amazingly works just like Mark Twain said it would.

Show me a happy loser and I'll show you a loser!

Mars is the God of War btw, and I'm at war with the casino.
