Baccarat Forum / Psychology of Gambling question
March 20, 2015, 12:18:04 AM
There is a reason for asking this question, I will post a link after I received some responses.

Take the following scenario;

You have lost a few bets, you place a big bet on Bank, the cards are drawn as follows;

8 to the player
Picture to the bank
Picture to the player for a natural 8, you feel sick and curse, have already written the bet off, wondering how you will recoup, keep betting more or by other means.
Next card to the Bank, 9.  Bank wins 9 over 8, sh1t you say.

The question is 'how do / would you feel'???

I've had this happen many times, I'm relieved but not happy, because I would have rather have not been put through the experience of seeing that N8 to the player side, too stressful to fully enjoy the win?

Next scenario (again this actually happened to me over a year ago), I'm getting battered at the tables, it's been a long hard session and I'm losing heavily, basically there is little way back and I'm thinking I'll have to record the session as a losing one.  After playing for longer than 12 hours, common-sense has long gone.  I put my last four black chips on the Banker.  Player pulls a Natural 8, that's it, all over bar the shouting.  Banker is on a three and dealer pulls a six for 9 over 8, win to the Bank.

I say nothing, absolutely nothing, my friend who is next to me, goes ape sh1t and smacks me too hard on the shoulder.  It was like an $800 turn-around, I continue on and win the session.

The point is, I didn't celebrate at the table, I said zilch, didn't even smile.  Maybe it due to a number of reasons, firstly I know this game can change on a whim and until you are out the door, take nothing for granted.  Is it that document I posted many years ago from Yarbrough which clearly states "do not get emotionally involved in the game", maybe I take that too literally and try too hard.  When I get home, I might fist pump the air, laugh all the way home, but at the tables, it is complain about the losses and stum about the wins mainly.

Anybody equate to this?  I came across a scientific study relating to this behaviour this week, which may be of interest in understanding ourselves at the gaming tables, the more enlightened we become the better equipped we are psychologically.  Psychological = composure & discipline...

Who recognises such traits...

I'll post a link next time.......

I can't find the original thread (maybe it's gone), I think the author was Alvin (Iplayforaliving), is this now being passed around behind the scenes?

The reason I ask, is I've just been offered to buy a copy by somebody who I will guarantee didn't pay a single cent for it, for $400, no loenghts to what some will sink too.

I've heard it is and lately isn't template based, if it is template based, nobody knows more than me when it comes to templates, I've been using them for well over 7 years and I have the ultimate staking scheme for any template method. So if you have a copy, seek advice, wish to fine-tune, then PM me.

Do they have low fret wheels at Sky City, which make it more difficult for dealers to section spin, aim for number (yes specific numbers, yes that is doable). What I experienced of playing Roulette at both Auckland and Adelaide was nothing short of horrendous and utterly disgusting.  I've discussed at length with dealers in other casinos both down-under and in the UK, dealers and pit-bosses finding it staggering what I went through, the biggest load of cheating bastards there ever was.  To balance things out I've also been run ragged by what I shall term an experienced croupiers in the UK.

The reason I bring this up, is because I know you are regular competitor at one of the venues I mention.  Those betting the table minimums will never appreciate it, never experience it, start slapping down ponies and pinks, win regularly and watch what happens.

Honestly even though it was 10 years ago, I still get angry thinking about it, not only do you have to beat the game, but also the dealer as well, because they are there to take you down and are unbelievably rewarded for doing so, WTF

I can share what I went through on both sides the pond, will try and refrain from using expletives but would really like to insert a five letter plural that begins with a C and ends with a T.  You must have a few tales of your own, if you don't think this is appropriate here, just remove this post m8.

Those that are waiting for someone to post a complete step-by-step bet selection method that'll beat Baccarat are in for, well, a rather frustrating wait, for it will never happen; mainly because, my friends, IT DOES NOT EXIST.

No static bet selection method will ever beat this game.  And, even if there were one, this game would not, could not, exist.
This contradicts what you have been saying on many forums, claims of continually greater than 50% hit rates.  So it can't exist for anybody but you?  Oh okay..

Incidentally it is very easily proven via a set of Binary tables that there are more ways for trends not to continue than to continue, but of course you're special and basic maths doesn't apply to you given your life long experiences at the Bacc tables.  How much of that quarter of a mill' that you placed in the casino trays have you managed to claw back?

Ahh, my friend, and there it is....the same old, same old argument of:

"Show me where it holds up statistically, even with your edges"

I heard that same refrain every other day at the Wiz's site, and finally decided it best to simply cease the argument by withdrawing my membership there.  In two words:  their loss.

I have no numbers nor statistics that'll satisfy you, Albalaha.  Sorry.

I have only numbers and statistics that satisfy ME.  So be it.

Best not to beat it to death, my friend; it'll lead only to your frustration.

And, IMHO, a person who chooses the casino's edge over their own wants no part of any frustration.

Stay well.
In other words "all smoke and mirrors".  How could it ever be their loss over at the Wiz site if you have never posted anything relevant over the years, were you just about to?

Love the way you twist events, The Wizard was just about to implement a rule change to remove you, but gave you the opportunity to resign, win-win outcome all round, same result, sort of, the Wiz got what he wanted and you no longer got ridiculed by the math-boyz, so it was a win-win situation after all.

Dozen/Column / Is this unusual?
August 18, 2014, 05:15:43 PM
I don't play much Roulette, but was dabbling with something playing the EC's and I noticed this;

0
29
1
6  (3rd column)
18 (3rd column)
12 (3rd column)
12 (3rd column)
6 (3rd column)
15 (3rd column)
9 (3rd column)
30 (3rd column)
21 (3rd column)
34
18 (3rd column)
30 (3rd column)

I know a Dozen /Column can sleep for some time, but those repeats on the 3rd Column amazed me.

Is norm, the 3rd Column hitting 11 times out of 12 spins?

What are some of the extremes for a Dozen / Column repeating???

A WARNING TO BACCARAT  PLAYERS  « on: October 18, 2013, 06:54:15 am »

  • ReplyReply
  •   Beware -- some of you might be contacted privately (PM or email) to buy a baccarat system.

None of us want to be scammed by anyone who has been banned elsewhere for -- (putting it tactfully)  --  undesirable behaviour.

So for your sake, run any such approach past one of the administration team here first, before you hand over any money.

Adulay in particular is a very experienced and successful baccarat player, who can detect BS at 1000 paces whichever way the wind is blowing.[/l][/l]
Seeing the sticky is locked.  This has to be a joke right?  Firstly it is okay it appears to entice board members to subscribe to sending some chancer $450 of your hard earned cash, secondly, Adulay has been assocaited with some of the worst scammers out there.  There is Ellis and his never ending system, Adulay has promoted these for years, and then there was that scammer suppose to be based in Hawaii who took money from people and gambled it all away, and simply shut up shop (web-site), reopened about 6 months later, did the same again.  Think he might have done some jail time because of it.  And who was promoting it, who was the forum admin, yep the one and only Andy Dulay, so asking him to vouch for some snake oil seller, hmmm one thinks commission, ca-ching, we can both make a buck here from the stupid ones.

General Discussion / Site suggestions

can you do away with the unnecessary border, just a waste of screen space.  What is it with these reply boxes, some times they respond, they lock often, there is a lag in displaying text you have typed, and my spell checker doesn't work.

Roulette Forum / Dragon Roulette 300 -1 straight up
April 30, 2014, 04:41:50 PM
Anybody in the UK seen these Dragon Roulette wheels, basically there is another free-wheeling rotor inside the inner wheel that locks as the spins is about to end (was going to video it, but the casino have removed the contraption), anyway this extra wheel has 2 symbols that if your number hits and the symbol lines up you get paid 300-1, or 100 -1 if any of the other 6 symbols line up.

So I got thinking about this, I'm going to bet every number (37), because when the Dragon doesn't show, it is only going to cost me 2 chips, and it does show occasionally, besides I could also use a progression if it went to sleep for too long.  This will be like taking cake off a baby, just sitting there waiting for my 300-1 and 100-1 payouts risking 2 chips every time (11% HE).  Here is the rub, after chatting to a dealer, I discover the Dragon bonus bet is a separate bet which you have to place on the race-track WTF.

Same chappie was telling me, these places that have the Big Wheel, which has two 40-1 pay-offs, these are usually unique symbols so just because the Big Wheel stops at 40-1 make sure you bet the appropriate symbol (side), otherwise you won't get paid.
