This a tale with an outcome that does not surprise me, and of course it will go to appeal, to attempt to push the boundary of interpretations. The lottery of interpretations and legal minds at work at great cost.

The skill which this player brings to the card identification approach is phenomenal and there is an entire school of followers and advocates in all the card games. Some have famously retired.

With roulette there are ethical/ moral/ legal equivalents to the above technique that seek to observe, enhanced by technical equipment to use physics to gain an edge over the house by accurate determination of the winning outcome on the spinning wheel.

From those early researchers to the contemporary advocates I admire their work but do not personally agree with the ethics/ morality/ legality of this approach. Many will disagree.

What is coming?

Google have patents now on contact lenses with inbuilt chips to read and measure not only for lateral extensions of google view or the exponentially growing gaming market applying wargaming to landmarks internationally and by landmarks I mean even the village postbox.

It is an easy next/ parallel step to configure for casino gaming and the technology may yet run well ahead of the detection for serious financial investment.

We can look forward to the chaos and buy more shares in Google and associated gaming/ technology Wall Street darlings that are hugely cashed up and who have used professional sports as their growth model yet enhanced the efficiency of earnings to levels most public do not yet realize.

Cyborgs it is and as usual the dreamers were ahead but science has caught up with this one.

It is astonishing and seems a component of the blossoming electronic age which is still at adolescent levels.

To this generation there are major ethical questions, and massive choices to be made right now.

Do you seek to become an interactive mule for technology and to further enable the billion dollar profit entities to flourish? Or do you keep it simple and pure?

My case is for the application of simple pure play of roulette unaided.

The game can be consistently enough beaten without artificial intelligence. But that is another full story and I will be writing about that next year on the Blog in the roulette section of my work.

Randomness is the core of gambling. If someone is doing anything that hinders true randomness, it will be a cheating, be it casino or players.
A casino brings in millions of money as starting capital. Dozens of trained staff, security, maintenance, taxes, entertainment, food and drinks and lots of freebies. It still bears the risk of losses. There are only three things that ensures income for casino. 1. House Edge;  2. Limited bankroll with unlimited lust of players to earn from here; 3. randomness that brings in negative variance time to time for every bet and no player can play like a casino 24x7 to cover the losses of bad time by winnings of good time. Indeed he might not be playing when the best moments of his bet are running.
In nutshell, casino gets a tilt against players for valid reasons. If player gets a similar tilt against casino by any scientific proven method, he can earn faster than what casino does normally.

Nothing shocking about the verdict on Phil's legal battle.

IMHO, what he did was "improvisation."

He was able to improvise his way to win at baccarat.

Sad thing is, this edge-sorting technique has come to an end.

Casinos are now aware of this flaw.  ;)
