What is it?

A tracker for Winkel's GUT, originally private but then donated to the public by TwoCatSam.

What is it meant to do?

Bet manually selected "crossings".

Is it automatic?

It's semi-automatic. The user must trigger bets from the adviser window.

It does have a clicker and casino-definition procedure (i.e. attempts to work in all casinos, present and future).

What bet selection is involved?

Winkel's GUT only

For those that don't know (and I include myself in that) could someone
(Sam, yourself, Winkel himself if he looks in, or anyone who knows), give the 21st century fellows
an overview, as to what the GUT process is all about?

Any 0.01 bets? Is it possible if we enter the amount we want to bet per number example $1.23 The bot will place do 3 bets straight away:
$1 = 1
$0.1 = 2
$0.01 = 3

In a few sentences............

You need not think.  Put in the numbers as they come and the software will tell you when a crossing appears.  You then let the clicker do the work.

There is a book the size of  "Gone with the War and Peace" on the web.

Where's that rum?

I opened Dublin and opened the software.  I move the bull's eye over Dublin and it ask how many chips.  I say 5.  The the screen jumps to the left like I'm used to it doing, but it is totally black.

Kindly post a screenshot of the black screen. This is weird. It works (tested) in Win 7. I took care to use standard API calls, so they should work in XP, 2000, and any other windows OS since last decade.

EDIT:  It works on BV but not on DionBet, which is the old Dublin.  Shall I try it on AlwaysCoolCasino?

Yes please, kindly try it at several casinos and report back on which ones you get the black screen.

We then see what's common among those "smokey" ones and use it as starting point. (That's how you debug -or more properly expressed here, how you work around these issues).

Thanks!

It certainly should.

The "blackout" seems to be casino-specific from the bit I can gather from Sam's posts above. If you hit a casino featuring such a dark screen, please report.

Thanks & Cheers!

Sam, the "X factor" seems to be Java.

Can you take a regular screenshot of the java-powered casino window?

(i.e. Pressing ALT + Print screen key, then pasting it on paint).

You might as have written that in Elboniese..........

OK, Do you want a screen shot of the black screen?  I thought the window was always "java-powered".  Didn't I use the prtsc feature?  Maybe I used snipping tool.

So tell me what to do by the numbers.

1) Put the troublesome casino window on the foreground.

2) Press ALT + Prt Src key at once on the keyboard.

[attachimg=1]

3) Open paint or any other image editor.

[attachimg=2]

4) Click on File/New.

[attachimg=3]

5) Then click on Edit/Paste.

[attachimg=4]

Report if you get the same black screen.

Thanks.

Do you want a copy?

Seems this is related to graphic acceleration bypassing window's regular video memory. The workaround points to be disabling hardware acceleration.

I'll get back at you. We need to sort this to make this and future clickers work on every casino.
Title: Re: TwoCat GUT tracker - 2013-04-05
Post by: VLS on May 10, 2013, 04:56:44 PM

OK Sam, I found two workarounds.

1) Disable it for java:

Quotehere's how to turn HA off: Control Panel -> Java Control Panel -> Java. Press the button 'Show', then double click in the field 'Runtime-Parameter' and type or paste in: -Dsun.java2d.noddraw=true
Source (http://forum.supremacy1914.com/showthread.php?96521-How-do-I-turn-off-java-hardware-acceleration)

2) Disable it for all Windows programs (easier, recommended):

How to enable or disable Hardware Acceleration in Windows® 7 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8U-um6nfcKU#ws)

Notice you want to keep it all the way to the left in NONE while trying the clicker.

Keep us posted.

Hi Sam, sure.

Technical article at Wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hardware_acceleration (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hardware_acceleration)

Layman explanation: Hardware acceleration means bypassing Windows to achieve a goal.

Here, instead of letting windows (software) process the casino video, they use your video card (hardware) directly, keeping windows out as the "middle man" thus speeding up the process.

After your video card processes the video, it is drawn on the casino rectangle directly.

This means windows doesn't know anything about the casino video itself; that's why the capture is black.

Quote from: TwoCatSam on May 16, 2013, 03:08:17 PM
Will this affect other programs running on this computer?
Yes. If you turn hardware acceleration off by setting the slider to NONE, any other program which bypasses windows to accelerate its functionality can get slower.

Chances are it will slow down games, video players and most likely sites such as youtube and others which can render video directly as well.

Good thing is you can always set the slider back once your casino betting session ends. This isn't as invasive as it might look and doesn't really stops the features, only the acceleration (i.e. performance will be slower, but it will all go through Windows' control so it'll behave "just normal" again).

I get down to the point where it says "change settings" and it says I can only do this if my driver permits.  Now the little box is not blue and you can't tick it so I suppose my driver is defunct or on rum and coke.

I'll try this on another computer today and see what I get.

Samster, it seems to work fine under Windows 7 (default settings), with Java 7.

You might want to try it on a virtual machine.

I would love to, but for one thing.  I have not figured out how to run anything in Virtual Box.  If you would be so kind as to instruct me on putting Dublin and the Tracker/Clicker program in there--or how to run them from wherever--I'd love to.

I have found the shared folder.  Is that the key?

Sam; yes, the shared folder is the key! :nod:

Imagine it is the CD-rom of your computer; you insert a disk, then play it.

Likewise, you must insert the program onto the shared folder, then play it as usual (double-click)  :cheer:

Cheers!
