Hi guys! Three very straightforward points:

- Esoito is back as a global moderator.

- Sponsoring the board doesn't give a member any more rights over the posts & forum members, it just gives them access to promoting his/her "paid wares" within sponsoring section/board.

- I'm devoting most of my online coding time to the web software all of our community's going to use + our upcoming BetSoftware so please contact Esoito/Max for mod issues. He can put people on pre-moderation/mute if needed.

Cheers & many thanks again.

We're about to be ruled by one simple rule/question here: "is it gambling-related?" If it's not = gone from BetSelection.cc

This nukes every personal quack & quarrel, trivial argument, bad-meaning message and the like, while leaving us with the juicy Bet Selection, Money Management and actual betting-related posts & topics (hooray!)

By updating our terms with Google-like wording in our next website revision, it let us slim newly-submitted posts to their very core if needed, in order to trim all of the irrelevant non-gambling parts.

When does this get in place?

As soon as we enable the new multi-forum space.

The working database model and controllers for the multi-forum are in place; so even if it's just a basic text, forms & images view, we get to launch it to close this month of June.

Since a modern web engine is never fully-complete anyway, we're going to launch what we have in order to 'iron things out' as they're needed.

What happens to all of the current threads/topics/content?

No content is lost, everything's simply moved to the new multi-forum with a 301 redirect away from our BetSelection.cc pages.

i.e. All of the irrelevant/non-gambling posts simply end-up at the new multi-forum space in bulk based on topic starter, while we reserve the right to keep all of the productive individual gambling threads/topics featured in here.

This is a massive shift in our community's focus and ways.

The new multi-forum enables every member to have a space to post as many personal/tangential/off-topic messages as wished while our BetSelection.cc space finally becomes a true betting-oriented community, focused strictly on productive discussion for productive-thinking fellows to build upon each other's relevant contributions.

Hopefully, by means of this move, we get to achieve the lowest signal-to-noise ratio we've ever had in our betting discussion websites.

Every featured game gets three sub-boards only:

  • Bet Selection
  • Money Management
  • Game-related

Sponsors and truly generic sections remain.

Thread for wording the new rules in effect on July 1st as our June 2017 objectives roll up.

Basically:

BetSelection.cc's focused aim is being a website for the study of bet selection and money management plans for popular betting games.

The new criterion for choosing what to feature here is simple: "Does this topic relate to bet selection, money management or betting?"

If it isn't related to any of these then it belongs to the new (generic) BetForum site/space and would be moved accordingly.

This means a progressive moving of topics is going to take place.

Do notice: no content gets purged/deleted, just moved to its new destination on the generic forum.

This is made to get us back on track towards our BetSelection.cc's roots as a focused betting study group.

Global Moderators have been relieved from their duties.

...I mentioned this already at the mods lounge yet let me state it again: big thanks to you guys. It has been a pleasure working with you. Thanks for your generous & selfless services. It is deeply appreciated  :applause:

@all

Please notice everybody remains in charge of his/her own thread & section/blog moderators remain in place as usual.

...And of course, there's YOU. This is a move towards a community-driven moderation model so please be the forum's  :o eyes :o from now on and report the wrongful messages you see by using the button at the lower-right corner of every post.

We count on you.

Rest assured every one of your reports is being acted upon and published in our moderation log for full transparency.

Improvements are being rolled-in (incl. moderating ones) as the new web engine gets in place during the month for BetSelection.cc and our other new sites.

Thanks a lot for being around!

Gambling Philosophy / Game paralysis (+advice)
December 03, 2016, 01:05:55 PM
Here’s a phenomenon that is recurrently brought to my attention: game paralysis.

It happens when a player simply doesn’t know what to play. There are countless methods and ways to tackle a game as versatile as Roulette.

Some players approach me asking about what should they bet next. I have found my way by using multiple triggers + filters applied on a sequential timeline so this is precisely what I talk about with them. It doesn’t necessarily means it is the ultimate way, nor does it mean I am claiming to have the game beat to infinity. It simply means it is MY way of tackling the game and I’m happy with it.

So, I tend to offer folks advise on how to create a timeline, calculate L’s and w’s per cycle and similar topics. But having a plurality of options is good, therefore I also advise the fellows to have a look around, accordingly. You must learn to value other people's approaches too. Nobody has the absolute truth.

If you personally suffer from not knowing what to bet right now, take your time. It is healthy to go back to the game simulator while taking a look around in order to determine your actual personal numerical coverage (and risk) level.

Reduce locations to single numbers for calculating.

Carve this in your brain & remember: you must measure by the cycle, not by the spin.

For instance; in your personal betting ledger a loss on a dozen should be checked after LLL, not after a single L. Same goes throughout the game.

Even chance: 2 spins.
Dozen: 3 spins.
Double-street: 6 spins.
Corner/quad: 9 spins
Street: 12 spins.
Split: 18 spins.

Formula being 36 / <numerical coverage>.

The payout in units is used since we are tracking effectivity within our parameters; as players are being paid 36 units on a hit that's what we use to track and base our cycles on.

36 / 18 numbers on the even chance = 2 spins per cycle.
36 / 3 numbers on the single street = 12 spins per cycle.

This formula remains the same no matter the current bet, including any numerical coverage resulting from overlapping locations. Everything by the cycle.

...Once you go past the “must win every spin” mentality, you really see the game with an improved set of eyes.

It makes a world of difference when choosing what to bet and defining your comfort level.

It makes you comfortable with betting, say, a single street and not hitting 24 spins when you know it is the same as betting the even chances and skipping 4 spins. It happens regularly so there’s nothing to fear.

The total unit exposure per spin matters too. While you are exposing less you are saving. Not betting is as important as betting hence having a filter refining the amount of numbers is as important as the trigger adding them.

You comfort level should be determined exactly by what you are willing to risk in full per attack bankroll. If you start a game with a 100-unit bank, then you have to be willing to risk the 100 units at all times, knowing you have done your homework and set your bankroll units to an amount that gives you a fair chance of succeeding in the session, without getting stubborn trying to overcome all the “random walk” extremes, since it is precisely this mentality the one that -more often than not- burns the other players.

Also, you must have a mechanism for maximizing the impact of your positive streaks to its fullest extent. This means reinvesting a % of your rolling earnings (while locking the rest safely).

You need to use a sound inter-session money management. At least something that divides your lifetime bankroll into smaller chunks and gives you a clear answer on how much to keep for yourself, how much to re-invest and how much to save towards increasing the “cushion” between you and the casino.

Don’t forget having your stop-loss calculated from the current bankroll peak, based on the net amount of units (i.e. next bet would wipe your 100-unit bank, measured from highest bankroll level = time to stop).

A unit won is a unit locked. Your Money Management should account for this.

It is better to be cautious by risking multiple “mini-banks” with minimal unit value with the aim of letting them grow in the positive trams rather than starting with a larger unit. If your methodology is sound, this should be the right approach as it gets the unit growing/rising naturally on the positive trams while keeping it at the minimum value when “it’s raining cats and dogs”, so to speak, when in the concatenated negative trams.

This way you bet at the very minimum level while passing the storm.

When things are shiny being "your time" in the positive -and very positive!- trams, then the more you win and re-invest the more you actual betting unit grows, and the more your net value in actual collected money per successful attack increases.

Having a fluid unit value is one of your player’s advantages so you must use it.

Always looking at the session bankroll and keeping track of everything as you worked it out already. Laying a bet is the final result of your personal journey to get there. Studying and testing is certainly part of this quest.

After all things have been said and done, gambling is -for most players- a single-person sport. Even when using automated bots, it is you who remain at the helm overseeing the operation.

In a sense, having a dose of game paralysis is good, because it gives you time to ponder about the ways to bet you may find around, evaluate them, and then -after doing this process- picking the one that suits you.

Even if you are currently experiencing this stage, as long as you are checking-out new bets, keeping yourself in the loop and studying, you are never truly paralysed :)

After all these years, the only thing that matters is what YOU have obtained out of the forums (that's plural, forums).

Have you improved your game thanks to your forum reading and interactions? Are you winning more and losing less? This is what really matters.

Do not get carried away by the small stuff. Focus on improving your game.

General Discussion / [Oct 16] We turn 4 years old!!
October 12, 2016, 04:02:50 PM
BetSelection.cc opened on Oct 16 2012... Our community is about to turn 4 years old!!  :D

[attachimg=1]

As a birthday gift we all can give, let's keep discussion focused on gambling topics, for making BetSelection.cc a true betting-discussion space.

On my side, as the admin, I'm setting time apart to complete some software projects; namely relaunching BetSoftware 2.0 -including first Baccarat modules-, as well as launching a 1-number Roulette Betting Tool to sponsor us sustainably over time.

> We are certainly here to stay.

...May we always be on the productive side with you accompanying us for the long run :)

Hey! What do you want for us in our 4th year, for the 2016-2017 period?  8)

Gambling Philosophy section, so... here's one for those inclined to bet on the lesser side: what are the reasons for considering one number selection as the ultimate bet selection according to you?

One can only wonder if they are the exact opposite on why a maximum-coverage with a 35-number bet sucks.

There are some concepts for backing this up, including attaining the maximum volatility, for getting ahead the most within the short-term of a session.

What are your thoughts about one-number selections?

Let's talk about this very interesting 1  :)

Hello guys, after pondering a lot we're setting with:

- BetSoftware FREE
A freeware version.

- BetSoftware PRO
A paid version.

I'm currently re-building the framework code from scratch; reorganizing and implementing features I wanted to do since first version to get things done right in order to avoid going back too much to re-code.

Both versions share the same internals, the main difference being the dynamics regarding the inclusion of new modules for each one.

All modules go straight to PRO for immediate use, while FREE gets a new module on the 1st, 10th and 20th of every month, hence there is a period of time for modules to be paid-only, yet they are all ending up in the free version over time for the benefit of our community.

Hello guys, registration is being disabled (intermittently) for a couple days due to TheMissingPIece.site space.

TMP is the very first one implemented with our new multi-site vWeb engine. This is being done so member ID is consistent across sites in the database.

Migrating to a new web engine isn't trivial, so we're doing it with baby steps. A lot of internal work is being done on the back-end; the front-end is basic by design until proper styling gets in and the content added.

BetSelection, BetForum, BetSoftware and all of the sites in our network are going to be migrated to vWeb, with single-sign-on.

We're finally getting things done web-engine wise!

General Discussion / Development on a hiatus
March 24, 2016, 04:56:59 PM
Hello guys; as you know our sites aren't active financially; right now "management" demands me to get a secondary job so online development is getting on a hiatus.

(My online and offline lives are intermingled)

Current bot coding is still in place.

Remember: we are a hobby site for our personal enjoyment as a side thing.

The good part is we remain "pure" in the sense that we aren't pushing any agenda, Our goal is simply to continue being a place for all the fellows to enjoy.

* Yes, "management" is the lovely wife. Women are smarter than men, specially with time management :D

Meta-selection / Is the time-line real?
February 21, 2016, 10:58:37 PM
A fascinating subject when dealing with an officially-declared independent-spin game. Can ordering these independent spins for spotting patterns be considered "valid"?

Regular statistics uses collections of spins to compare them with each other and draw conclusions.

I tend to think of it like this:

  • Statistics are based on samples of N amount of spins, valid in any order.
  • The timeline is based on samples of N spins, which must be analyzed one after the other, in strict order.

This is like analyzing a house versus analyzing the way the house's being built, in real time.

When seeing the house as a whole, you can count the number of blocks, how much concrete was used, how many meters of roof material it took, as well as any other total. This is akin to the long term, what the casino sees and calculates. Totals only, not how they came to be.

On the other hand, when tracking the house being built, you spot how the actual house-building develops: first the foundations, then the outer walls, the walls for the living room, the kitchen, the bathroom, etc... then finally the roof.

In this case, it is akin to watching the short-term. The confines of your current session. Where you spot the events that are happening within a certain cycle or length of spins.

I think it is the main difference between being the casino and being the player.

The casino knows exactly how the house will turn out because it has the exact list of materials (this is the house edge ;) ). The player -instead- can only wager on specific events with a limited bank. So, when seeing the builder is preparing some concrete near the kitchen, then the player bets that the builder will make the kitchen wall and not the living room wall. No guarantees, of course, but simply betting on what seems to be the logical continuation according to how s/he sees houses are usually built.

In other words, betting for the continuation of events, right as the events are taking place.

How do you see using past spins to try to predict the game? Do you see any form of tracking useful?

Feel free to express your views.

General Discussion / BetForum.cc is starting
December 23, 2015, 09:57:06 AM
Hello guys, I'm doing behind-the-scenes work to open-up our database for "plugging in" BetForum.cc

If you perceive the site a bit "shaky" momentarily in the next days, please reload. It should be a minimal delay.

I'm making subtle changes to the database (harmless) to first create a "bridge" to this one, then merging it with a centralized one, so new test users may come and go, as well as some test posts.

Do check out the idea behind the new BetForum.cc if you haven't: http://betforum.cc

This is a going to be a PROCESS, we are not migrating servers but creating a multi-site setup for sharing and enabling the same users across our 3 sites (BetSelection, BetSoftware, Betforum) with a custom home-grown content management system.

Feel free to use the sites as usual; other than the small delay here and there, this current step isn't going to have a visible impact until it's all done.

Cheers!

General Discussion / We're back online
November 17, 2015, 04:12:09 PM
Hello guys,

We're back online from having server downtime due to a sudden hardware failure.

The database is fine. The files have been restored. Fortunately our current data center guy proved efficient. I repeatedly said downtime didn't matter as long as data integrity was preserved. Gladly, this has been the case.

We're fine now.

There's hope:

We are about to start a small business with a paid PRO version of our BetSoftware.cc package, which we can eventually use to sponsor a high-availability server for us to enjoy here too.

This type of situation is avoidable if we move to enterprise-grade facilities with a (redundant) high-availability setup being fault-tolerant so these type of incidents don't happen again. We'll get there.

Now please feel free to enjoy the site(s) again.

Cheers!

Hi guys, this small section is here for testing a focused format for BetSelection.cc

With the arrival of BetForum.cc in 2016, there is an opportunity to copy all the non-system topics over there in order to have the regular gambling discussion at the BetForum while hosting a very focused method study place in here .

The dynamics for the focused method study space being:

  • One (1) section per method.
  • One (1) sticky thread explaining the method's procedure.
  • The rest of threads in the section being test results, talks about implementations in software and system-focused topics.

Each system variation having its own separate dedicated section with its own method procedure sticky thread + tests / implementations / focused topics.

...What begins as a humble test in this section may become our forum's dynamics once BetForum.cc is out
