I have been advised of the sudden death of Martin Blakey.

He was a brilliant mathematician, and player of professional roulette, and shared his experiences openly with encouragement to all new players and experienced players alike. He played roulette daily and loved the game with great passion. His writing encouraged many to come to the game.

I have followed the links with Martin for over 25 years and over the past 12 months in particular he had written to me frequently endeavouring to help clarify and further develop his very private but extremely successful methodology. As he stated to me he played much the same core approach over the 40 years of his professional career, but with success and scale he was now able to play with an assistant so that the target of a particular set of 16 numbers ( notable by their absence) could be arranged. He was a regular feature at the table at the Private Members Room Crown Casino, Melbourne, Australia.

He was always the gentleman, and handled criticism with such good grace as I could never ever manage or imagine. Doubtless then he was confident and assured of his knowledge, and no one could threaten that ( although some on BetForum,cc have tried) or could take that away. That is a fine principle to learn from.

It is a reminder too for all of us, how quickly things can change, how sudden can be the passage from life to death, and to value what is offered to us with respect. Also a reminder to be kind to one another, not so separate.

Martin was very proud of the achievements of his family in all endeavours. As he said, all were educated at home, and professional roulette had provided the income to support the family at all times. Now that is some real achievement.

Best to you Martin and the family. Thanks for your efforts, much appreciated.

How unfortunate it is to hear this sad news :( . A "brother of the wheel" departed. We thank him for proving it is possible to achieve success in this field and game; we also thank him for bringing the good news in this time and age a player can in fact become a professional and can sustain a family with the game.

Rest in peace Martin [smiley]skype/flower.gif[/smiley]

His book is really a nice read. May he rest in peace. It was great to see him answering for himself, in rf.cc
I think rf.cc has also rested in peace and Stef ran away from this business forever. Change is the only constant.
