How does this idea look to you?

A global library of systems: categorized by year of development, member who created the system, games covered by the system, game locations to bet in addition to origin forum, valuation, comments ...

It would be a bonanza for this forum to develop a database of its kind, with the help of all members and curated by the staff here. as far as I know it is not a crime for members to make a summary of a system published by another member in their own words.

It should be a global effort. the database must be freely available if everyone participates. Friends of forums in different languages can contribute systems originated in their language.

It would be great to see all the systems by a member with a click, all systems of dozens published in year X, all systems applicable to roulette and baccarat and sic bo, and all other results with the combinations of possibilities that can be obtained with a database of its kind.

Name of the database: "World Library of Systems Database."

What says the staff and forum members of this idea? Thank you.

Better get a lot of extra cyberspace to warehouse that one!

Played well over 35,957 shoes of baccarat since I started playing at B&M USA casinos.

Played numerous properties in Las Vegas, Reno, Southern California, Atlantic City, Connecticut, South Florida, The South/Southeast as well as most areas of The Midwest.

Baccarat, actually a mixture of Watergate, attacking the Gotti Family and the famous ear biting Tyson fight leading to disqualification and a near riot.  Bac has all that & more.

Thank you for the approval friend alrelax. I am sure that other members would not mind working this database if it is to everyone's benefit. many contribute with posts in the forums already.

Still remains to be seen if the response from staff is positive. If the staff would commit to maintaining a database of its kind. This should not be a lot more space than a series of web threads. In fact much lower because each entry is only a summary of the original thread containing the system.

The burden would be in maintaining the data and ensure that jokers can not enter trash systems, or obscene comments, or comments mocking the original system, etc. To have a database of quality and properly maintained by the staff for all to enjoy.

Oh don't get me wrong, I would definitely read through it, there are lull's at work too.  But seriously I would!  After all I am not growing spinach in a swamp yet while playing the accordion or whatever the Floridian remarked.

I always have something constructive to do like cleaning up sulfuric acid or formaldehyde or up righting a tractor trailer lying across the interstate.  LOL.

Got to go, my accordion is waiting out in my spinach patch. [smiley]aes/joking.png[/smiley]

Funny :)) :))

Returning to the idea of the database staff have the final word because they would undertake the task to maintain and curing the data continuously.

In my perception to enter data into a form is the easy part: it is to fire and forget. Many members can perform this task so it would be divided and each member only does a little at a time. Then comes the necessary sift to maintain clean and consistent all the data over time. I believe it is the greatest burden on the staff to engage if you consider it a compromise. Now to wait for more feedback and the official response.

A good idea on the face of it.

I guess a system would only be added to the forum database after careful vetting by....well, yes -- by whom?

Otherwise, unless careful safeguards are put in place I can see copyright violations becoming a very vexed issue!

ADulay

I do believe that a compilation of hundreds of "systems" would be, well, ugly.

What I believe "wannawin" would rather have is a compilation of system plays that people actually USE.

Most, if not all of the stuff posted up around the forums is absolute junk.   Usually just tossed out as an idea, and usually a bad one at that.

No sense in "collecting" masses of junk plays.  That would about as pointless as throwing away a perfectly good spinach pizza.

So, I would recommend that the compilation be of system type plays that are actually IN USE when posted.

As most "mechanical" systems are based on either a trigger or some sort of opposite/repeat theory, the list of GOOD mechanical plays should be manageable.

There is only one.

Rinzler was complaining it cost him $35 to withdraw cash from an ATM machine in Vegas, why did he even bother, one wonders?

alrelax

Never heard of the $35 atm fee yet.  I run front money wherever I play in Vegas, when I escape the property and run somewhere else and need cash for whatever, I hit an ATM with a debit card.  Never been charged more than a couple of dollars.  Unless you are referring to the pick up the phone and get an advance deal, I never heard of ATM's that charge $35.00.  Any megaresort, Bellagio, PH, Wynn, Mirage, all the shopping malls, etc., all have tons of ATM's that will be $1.95 or $2.95 or so.

Not 1 valid rock solid system to clock the casino in a library of 200?????  Wow, blows my mind, can't understand that one!

As an aside -- those who don't use a system are, by default, using a system, aren't they?

This is like saying that people caused global warming.  People are a part of nature, and nature did it.

Anyway, let's keep it simple.  Wouldn't want to confuse the others.

To a certain degree that IS actually true.
