Albalaha was talking about Ion Saliu on another thread and it got me thinking about shills who deliberately put out false/misleading information on the internet to muddy the waters.

They come in all different guises and I can't ever remember reading a thread on the subject. I suppose we have to be careful what we say but there is nothing to stop us posting our general thoughts without naming names.


Regarding Ion. He is certainly an interesting character! 

One thing I notice is that he is attacked from a lot of different quarters within the gambling community. Now this could be a good thing meaning he is on the right track and people who think they might have something to lose will bash him.

I was watching a short video the other day of one guy in a vegas casino showing how to play all the games. No doubt this guys books are in all the casino book stores as well.

Now one of the questions you have to ask yourself is would the casinos let Stanford Wong shoot a video in their casino explaining the subtleties of shuffle tracking? NOT ON YOUR LIFE!

It would be like me letting the guy who broke into my house give demonstrations in my living room to wannabe crooks how he did it! 

So what should newbies be looking out for and what are the tell tale signs that give the game away?

That's funny Gizmo because he (Saliu) had the cheek to say others ripped off his work later down the line.

Saliu can not be termed as a "shill". He might have stolen concepts from other scientists/mathematician but basically he talks of sense and mathematics and never pushes you towards casinos.
