So many players these days have no idea of the way the real money was won on these tables back prior to the 2000.  The other night at the casino there was a run of 14 Bankers and there was two runs of Players in the same shoe of 8 and 9.  Almost everyone got wiped and could not literally believe what they were wagering against and how stupid they really were. 

If you are playing $1 or $5 playing the martingale isn't life changing or bank roll threatening (if you are kind of prepared and not playing on a 'shoe-string' that is.

The only little problem is table games, baccarat--does not start at $1 or $5.  It is $10 to $25 at most all casinos or $50 or $100 on the min's.

$100-200-400-800-1,600-3,200-6,400-12,800-25,600 and there is almost no 100/25,000 tables, the $25k limit max tables will ALL start at $300 or $500 min.

And as far as reality, we all play in the Midwest with $75 to $500 a hand is the mean norm.

$400-800-1,600-3,200-6,400-12,800-25,600 and the tables have limits of $2,000 or possible $3,000 or $5,000 depends on where you are at. 

Maybe the system of progression works on line for a few pennies or a $1 or something, but in the world of baccarat, no-way, never-ever.  It will wipe you out many times over.

That video is so funny. I watched a guy last summer bet 9 times in a row, with $1,000 bets, that a streak of reds would end. It did not end, at least not until he had long since gone. He had that same reserved expression of delight to him.

There are an infinite number of things that have a chance of happening but will never happen. Somebody winning the PowerBall lottery every drawing for a year straight. Somebody rolling 20 12's in a row at a Craps table. Somebody beating the World Chess Champion while drawing their moves out of a hat. A player winning the World Series of Poker Main Event playing with his hole cards face up. 
Red coming up 40 straight times in a row on roulette. 
17 hitting on roulette 45 straight times.
So on and so forth. 

Yes, they are possible of course, but they will in all certainty not hit.  Possibly one might, once in a lifetime or so.  But if you can wager on them not hitting, that would be an absolute fantastic 'sure' bet for you and not the casino.  That is why they do not offer it.

Another way to look at it is like this, taking 10 decks of cards and remove all the Aces except for 1.  Mix all the cards up on a drum and blindfold someone.  Have him pick one card.  Pretty safe to say, he will not pick the 1 Ace left in the bunch.  He could, and it is possible, so are the systems and the negative progressions to win what you think they accomplish.

The first time I saw that video in another thread I thought "This guy is a doofus and a noob" and he might have probably "tested" his foolproof system for about 10 hands before he convinced his buddies to back him with some front money.

Painful to watch for sure.

Easy shoe to win.

3. I am more shocked !........shocked !.......  than Captain Renault in Casablanca.........  that martingale eventually results in a financial disaster.

The martingale has its' place but should limit to 4 step, hey hey.

I used to do a 1-3-6-12 but was disastrous the majority of the time when totaled up after a while.  I switched to 1-3-2-6 and also 1-3-2-4 and improved enormously.  But, that is on a positive and would never do progressions more than 1, maybe, on the negative.
