I'm an obvious fan of Tommy Renzoni, mostly in trend following in the game of Roulette where I keep track of 6 independent groupings with my charting method. It allows me to see more trends and patterns all at once. It's not outlawed yet as people that track past results in Roulette are considered idiots. In other words, for now, the casinos love us for being unsuccessful idiots. But by sharing the method I hope to prove that all wrong. If so it will change what is known about statistical mathematics. If it proves out then mathematical calculations will need to be discovered that are for now unseen. Not by me of course. I'm no mathematician.

But I am shining the light on this anyway. I have come up with the practical application of what the math would result in.

According to this article about legends it says this about trend play:

Tommy Renzoni:

"If, for example, the cards favour the player for three consecutive decisions, then your next bet should either be player or you shouldn't bet at all! If you lose, you lose only one wager.

"If you bet against the trend, you can be suckered into betting and betting and betting. I have seen more fortunes lost by people who became emotionally committed to one position that went against the trend than through any other folly in gaming!"

I'm just saying that you can see this method better in the game of Roulette as long as it is allowed.

So I love this part of the article. It makes you wonder if I can go on a "Run."

Poker Legend Doyle Brunson has passed away at 89

As an addendum to Gizmotron post #4 above:

It is really a miracle that Doyle Brunson live to be 89 years old.

1. He was seriously overweight for most of his life.
2. He smoked cigarettes
3. He ate mostly buffet and casino food loaded with sodium, grease and cholesterol for most of his life
4. He never exercised and spent most of his life sitting down at a poker table
5. He inhaled tons of second hand smoke when he played poker..... almost everyone smoked during most of his early playing days.
6. He lived the most high stress life possible by playing no limit poker while at the same time trying to financially support his family........where one bad run of cards would wipe out your entire bankroll and your family had no money to pay the rent or buy food.
7. He avoided getting robbed or killed during the 1950's and 1960's when he played mostly in underground gambling rooms in people's basements.

Truly an amazing life....would make a great movie.

Also was a real gentleman ...which was rare in the poker world.

Doyle was and remains the best Ambassador of Poker, a true legend!

    When I first read that I thought: "is this Gates guy just a degenerate gambler." ??
Then I had a second thought and concluded (maybe or maybe not): Maybe he knew something about (Falling speed of raindrops) that his opponent didn't know. Maybe he knew that he knew more overall knowledge about falling raindrops than his opponent. So it may have actually been "A Good-Value Bet" for Gates.
At the casino as well as in life: There are good-value/bad-value bets. In other words what is the risk vs reward or what is the potential.

This thought led to another thought (I've been doing a lot of thinking lately).
I perceive that in a casino there are numerous wagering opportunities across the many games where a Good-Value Bet could be found more often vs only looking at the single bac shoe we are playing. I often ponder if we could maybe find other Non-Baccarat betting opportunities by simply strolling through the table pit and note the tote boards at various other games. Streak or anti-streak or whatever else you feel is a good trigger.
This may be more applicable at small casinos where they may only have 1-2 Bac tables but 20-30 other games always in play.
Simply walk through the pit/note the most recent outcomes at a particular game and making a couple attempts.

I feel most certain that Mr. Gates could find a good betting opportunity (Win or lose some bets are still a good-value buy).
