The only bit that surprised me was Betfair's behaviour. I would have expected better than that from them.

Betfair have a bit of a chequered history to be honest.

They had a problem several years ago when one of their games made it impossible to lose and people started playing and winning for a few hours well the window of opportunity existed.

They decided to confiscate all winnings and even started taking money out from players bank accounts. (wrongly in some cases)

Ladbrokes are about to take over the betting exchange 'purple' and this may at last give Betfair something to think about if purple can get enough liquidity into the markets.

cheers
Sometimes it is the people who no one imagines anything of who do the things that no one can imagine.

Dearie, dearie me...

I've only ever used BF for sports betting and without any problems -- touch wood.

Given that fiasco over the 10x business at their casino,  I'm now wondering if I've simply been lucky thus far to have escaped their obvious potential for underhand treatment of their customers.

I guess it all comes back to the fact that there is really no proper supervision and oversight by a statutory body with teeth.  ::)

Bet365 is 100% legit just like Betfair. They have been around for years already.

You might prefer Smarkets (I do). It's a relatively new kid on the block but is growing fast. It hasn't got the liquidity of BF but has a nice simple interface and a low flat commision rate of 2% on winning bets.

Thanks, Mike. The commission is attractive!
