Title: Highlights With an Extraordinary Hand
Post by: alrelax on October 13, 2025, 12:27:00 AM
A little bit of a trip report.  A couple of highlights for those of you that can relate. :)

Absolutely a smoking hot table for the majority of about 2 shoes the other night at a midi baccarat table in Kansas City!

In particular and one we are all texting each other about was one hand that 4 people had table max ($10k max/$50 min) or damn close to it at 10k each and another 3 about $3-5k each all on bankers.  One person on players with a single purple chip,  takes the cards and says, watch this and flops a black jack,  all us bankers shout out at the same time, wrong table!  Everyone is laughing, dealer, floor person, security waiting with a fill (yeah we took all their black and purple and green) and dealer slides cards out to the 4 who obviously had the most and just about the same (I had about half of the others at max) and you guys decide who gets the cards amongst yourselves.  So a lady winds up with them, cute Asian with tight jeans and the top of her g string coming out over her jeans, lol.  She flops a 9 and of course we are all saying, monkey time or do it flop the monkey!  She eventually flops a 6.

Now for the sole and lone outlaw players side guy, we are all saying, monkey/10, monkey/10 like 15 times.  The guy gets his card and he's working it and working it and working it to death. All he's saying is three sides, three sided, three sides. So I'm thinking f**k me, it's an eight.

The guy flops a 7 and of course we're saying we still got a chance.  I've seen it before, but you know not very good on the percentage scale for us.

Dealer slides the card out of the shoe to the lady for our side. We all look at her and say, please 2 side please 2 side please 2 side. I think you probably heard that well over a dozen times.  She gets way down on the table and starts looking and peeking at it with her thumbs covering whatever number it was and she finally comes out loudly and says, it's a two sided card. Then she says, four win and 5 die, 4 win-5 die, 4 win-5 die.  She speaks very clear English almost no Asian heavy accent. She's taking her time and she's really trying. I even reached over with my thumb and first couple fingers and sprinkled some of my 'special magical dust' on it that I used to do a long time ago back in Atlantic City and up in Connecticut.  She is working it and working it, working it and working it and turns it vertically and peels it back super slow. She finally breaks out into a laughter and kind of falls on top of the table over her spot with her arms on the rails but chest on top of the table and card and the pit boss immediately had a screaming fit. And yes, once revealed it was a four.

Now the pit boss stopped the game, got on the phone to the Casino manager I assumed and he comes running over and tells everybody to wait. They gotta check with the camera. They pick up the card and examine it and compare it against the other ones and all that. They heard back from the camera saying everything's good and they paid it out. Of course gave her a little talking to about can't cover the cards but she's a regular well-known player.

My words probably don't do justice to it and it's longer than what I described, but I would say the whole scenario took from start to finish a good 10 minutes solid.

Won overall,  most did.  One guy that was winning nicely gave back all his win and buyin from what he was claiming.

Pit boss came by and threw down handwritten comps for $50 each for the noodle bar and the other food places there without even looking at anyone's record to everybody at the table and was constantly passing out Red Bulls or mango drinks or all those other type of drinks that are 3 to 5 dollars in the stores. They have a little mini refrigerator under the podium inside the pit. It was pretty cool.  Good evening no doubt.

You know she had class the way she was doing it when she was working that two sided card. When she first saw it was a two sided card she would lean back in her chair with the card still on the table of course, and she would count on her hand from 5 to 9 and 5 to 10 putting on a little skit.  She would say, Nine is max and wins and 10 is die. It was kind of neat IMO as most people would never do that. Played bac a long time in all areas of the USA for decades.  I probably have about 2 dozen or so single hands or shoes that stand out and the memory of those never fades.  This hand will be added to those without a doubt!  I guess that's what makes the game fun, no matter if you win or lose at the time.
