I think it would have in that I would have quit before losing as much as I did.

Mistakes killed me.

I feel I've reached the point where I can avoid losing overall. The problem is I cannot keep hold of my gains.

I don't know how to change that although I hope to find out.

Would you elaborate on that statement?  What do you mean..can't keep hold of my gains?

Did your BR take a hit while playin GUT ? Or were you on PB mate ?

Twister

I'd rather not say as I don't want someone to think that I'm blaming them for my loss.  I played with my eyes open and lost.  Random sneaked up on me!!

Gambling Philosophy / Digging your way out of the hole
November 17, 2012, 05:15:14 PM
All

I find that gambling boils down to this: I win a few bets and then spend hours digging my way out of the hole.  This is what would happen with PB if you lost.  You lose seven and have to win the next seven to get even.  Lose again during the recession and you will have to spend longer at the table to get even.

Not picking on PB.  The G.U.T. is the same.  Every system I ever played is the same.

I guess I'm used to continued success.  With a guitar, if you learn it you learn it.  It doesn't go away.

In my business, when I made money it was mine.  Very slim chance of losing it.  Very tiny!

With gambling, you win six units and go into the hole and spend two days trying to get back to where you are +6.  I have come to realize this is the nature of the beast.

Anyone care to comment?

Very glad you survived Sandy.

But have you survived her capricious friend, Mr Random?

Or did he maul you quite seriously?

You seem to have gone very quiet about GUT.

[Just my gut feeling...]

Or perhaps the thread has served your purpose and you've flown off to another flower?

esoito

That is something I do and probably shouldn't.  Right now I'm trying to learn from FlAtMaN and his 9 v 9.  And, honestly, my bankroll is at an all time low and I could not afford to play the G.U.T.  I am down to a few bets here and there.

albalaha

I notice you taking an objectionable viewpoint on all posts and threads.  In fact, you seem disillusioned with this whole forum already!  My statement is simply that whatever I'm betting on will come in waves of concentration and dispersion.

There is a solution.  Put both the seat and lid down.  Then the commode is in neutral position.

I may go public with this.

I've noticed R/B bets losing by a good 10% more than the other 2 types (O/E and H/L)

That's why Speramus decided to ignore the R/B in our playing rules.

snubby

Again, I find this most interesting.  Do you attribute it to the r/b layout on the wheel?  Or do you attribute it to anything at all?  If that held over thousands of spins, there would have to be a reason, don't you think?

You must realize people are going to disagree with you.  They just can't go on a slobbering, cussing rant while they do it.  You will still have your detractors.  For my part, I'd much rather throw you a stepping stone than a stumbling block.

We must learn to speak to the little old lady who weights in at 98 pounds the same way we speak to the biggest, meanest SOB in the bar.  If I wouldn't say it to him, I won't say it to her.

Try it; it really works!

I once owned the holy grail of appliance repair.  Made a lot of money with it.  Retired off it.

What the H is a "Holy Grail"??  Victor once said it returns your investment or clears your progression with a units profit.

My idea of a HG is that you can sit down at the table or the computer and WORK and make money.

So to answer the question, there could be many of these beasts lurking about.  There is not one and only one.

He made no post saying "Jl is banned".  However, he banned him and is now taking a poll as to whether to re-instate him.  Steve has made it clear he thinks Jl is misleading the pack.

I feel inclined to agree that Jl was a threat to Steve.  I also think flukey luke was.  That guy was nothing but nice and offered a system he said worked.  I'm still not sure it doesn't.

Anyway Steve has taken his proverbial ball and left the field.  Nolo problemo!  We have a field here.

Carry on, John!  I've even come to enjoy your bolviating.
