It's not censorship if you are the author of the thread.
Now however dictating what is censorship is in fact dictatorship.

If the author of his or her own thread wants to delete messages he or she feels is not adding value to the purpose of the thread, he or she should have that right to do so. I'm not sure what's the big deal with that.  To me, this is not an ego thing, more of polite housekeeping. Sounds like if there was a vote on the topic, this case should be closed.
