  • Another universal phenomenon with implications on all levels. More on this soon but observe the number of times you encounter the use of this term in the Markets, in Sport, and Engineering Performance. Here we will examine the implications in short cycle roulette behaviour.

  • Consider the beautiful game. Football.

I saw a beautiful game with LA Galaxy playing New England Revolution last week. With the Mexican star forward striker LAX went to a 3-0 lead and looked unstoppable. Such a one sided game. Momentum was with the Galaxy.

Half time and the captain of LAX was substituted ( one 35 year old for another) with 30 mins to go.

Within 5 minutes the Revs had scored twice and played like a new team gaining confidence and then they hit the crossbar 4 minutes later - this team is renowned for pulling out miracle draws at closing minutes. The momentum was with them- they could even win. But was this the tipping point - a few inches lower and a new series might have followed.

7 minutes later and the ex ace Liverpool/ England/ LAX captain changed gear and dug deep and scored a brilliant goal against the run of play seizing and converting a very difficult and now rare opportunity. That was it. The tide turned and the final score was a stunning and entertaining 4-2.

The energy flow could be graphed like a sine wave series.

The flow and shift of momentum was palpable.

  • This is really a part of the jigsaw/matrix/catalogue that enables looking into randomness. It is becoming clearer all the time with ongoing empirical research. It becomes clear and simple to understand and apply these components with more and more practice. Do not fear. You will make mistakes as you start, and gradually your play knowledge and application will improve. Be very patient. This is the hardest principle to apply.

Momentum is the cyclic movement that occurs within a session both from the spin outcomes and the 'zone' in which the player operates. Nothing stays still. That is why timing of entry/ exit is critical.

It is also important to keep note of context - the comfort of the player. Sometimes I can get distracted by lack of courtesy from a Dealer, Player or Casino Personnel.  It is critical because this causes a loss of your vital energy and focus.

Essential to be strong, in focus, secure, and successful.

When in a favourable cycle, and you are winning, the momentum is with you. The wave, the direction of the favourable force, the focus zone, is with you. Following this the energy will later dissipate and destruct,. This is the corrective phase.

Accurate reading of Momentum will enable to stay in the +phase, and pause or quit for the - phase.

The freedom you have at the table is you can join or leave at any time.

The football player, the team, must stay the course of the game.

It is the universal flaw in losing play that the player stays too long, and confidence, another key component, nosedives.

  • We have all experienced the tipping point. Call it also a turning point. As well as huge plaudits to the famous Malcolm Gladwell book  'the TIPPING POINT'- how little things can make a difference.

Consider this live sequence today from my friendly boutique casino.

My goal was to play to the  numbers on the screen when I arrived and see out the sequence, and leverage any advantage.

40 units buy in peaked at 109 and ended with loss.

Answer :  take profit when offered and at 100 level this was more than sufficient.

Task : to explore the possibility of continual flat staking and building on step by step profit.

Result :  well by now it should be clear to any experienced player that a return of anything +30% gain on RB is very healthy

Tipping Point :  warning the 31 hit on a C street target where the dominant C wheel clustering came to an end, soon followed by a cool 34

The gains ended after 31, and started a decline after 34

This is where the Momentum of advantage came to an end. I could sense it in live play but continued the session as a simple empirical experiment. Where more than 4 WF targets qualify that really challenges flat staking limits ( loss will result), and the private bet short cycle registered a loss on A streets and we had to await recovery targets. Under- capitalised to continue the recovery process.

Acknowledge and respond to the Momentum Tipping Point.

Also refer to Chapter 5 in the book 'Tipping Point' , 'The Power of Context',  page 169.  Live play in a casino.

  • Within a game you are watching observe the flow and movement/ direction of momentum, as intensely as sports betting professional. It is beautiful to read within the pre-fixed time parameters.

Similarly within your own session ( where you set the time parameters) observe your progress and watch for any potential tipping point, up or down.
Exit ahead and in good time.

I use the principle of steps now and will open a new thread on this subject.
