I just logged on to say the same as RouletteFan and he beat me to it. :)

Thank you Sputnik for the idea and P.A. for the explanation. It is an interesting concept which I never really thought about before and I think could be developed further.

cheers

Confidence plays a big part. But not false confidence or bravado. That will only get you your behind handed to you on a plate. Real confidence comes from knowing your game and that you can remain calm whatever the wheel or cards may throw at you. So let's throw in composure and consistency as well. They are all interlinked to be honest. One compliments the other. Without those three C's, you will have a hard job staying afloat for very long.

That's not much of a plan, IMO.  Any plan is better than none.  It's a good idea to stay alert of course.  But the casino environment has a way of dulling ones alertness without ones knowing.  The subdued colors and lighting, the air conditioning at 3 AM to keep people awake, the drinks if you do (I don't).  The friendly critters, etc.  One would do well to have a bit better plan than staying alert and "make the most of opportunities" (whatever that means I'm not sure).

Jimske, I play roulette and there are a lot more twists and turns to look out for in that game as opposed to baccarat IMO. Staying alert with my MO is probably the most important aspect so I can hopefully get out of a session as quickly as possible with a profit (any profit is ok)

I started this week off with 400 units.

session 1. 16 spins
session 2. 12 spins.
session 3. 12 spins.
session 4. 8 spins.
session 5. 12 spins.
session 6. 19 spins.
session 7. 38 spins.
session 8. 49 spins.
session 9. 52 spins.

No targets. Anyway, I broke even on one session and won the other 8. Doubled my bankroll. Now I can withdraw and start again. Some of them sessions are very short and I don't have time to warm up. I need to be 100% switched on from the word go. I always like to quit on a couple of wins followed by a loss even if it means just a small session profit. I suppose playing on line allows me to do this.

I'm not a big fan of "session win goals".  Simply too much pressure, all applied, frankly, needlessly.

Much better, IMHO, to simply seek profit on each winning "attack" as you deem it appropriate.  After you lock that profit up, proceed to your next attack, as prompted.

Now, in those "tougher than usual" shoes/sessions, where those "profit lockups" are rather scarce, "back off" as opposed to the much-more-usual style of "ramping up".

Try to visualize the game OVER THE LONG TERM.  That'll do wonders to alleviate any unnecessary shoe and/or session pressure.

Stay well.

An excellent reply Gr8player. I agree with you 100%. The best you can do IMO is to stay alert and make the most of the opportunities that present themselves. That may take you into profit for the session or just get you back to even at times. Slow and steady with no added pressure of targets gets the job done. Cheers.

This was from one of the testimonials....

''I have to be careful about ++/--/++/-- or WWLLWW''

I have seen these + and -  on a recent thread that got pulled where the guy was claiming a holy grail but he couldn't reveal the 'secret sauce'

It couldn't be, could it? Surely not!  lol.

Those cards all have chips in them so they can be read coming out

G711

That's one way the online casinos coud cheat at blackjack if they wanted.

All they need to do is control the last box with a 'dummy' player and that then gives them a better chance of making a strong hand.

Luckily my local casino hand shuffles the cards at Baccarat. It would be interesting to see some of the shoe results from these shuffling machines. We don't have them here in the UK. I was in the 'Crown' recently (Melbourne) and they had the video Baccarat but I never played it. Always better to play live in my opinion if you have the option.

BEAT-THE-WHEEL,

Many years ago (around 1990) I bought a book called 'How to win at roulette and blackjack' by Roy Ward Dickson. It's still one of my favourites because of the candid style it was written in.
Nobody to my mind has yet to trump what Dickson reiterated at just about the end of every chapter and the message was ''don't go against what the wheel is doing.''

25 years has passed since then and my objective has mostly stayed the same and that is to find different concepts running parallel with each other so that I can take advantage of Dickson's mantra should the opportunity arise.

Read part of my signature.....''What you don't know and don't do will be your undoing.''

Somebody new coming along and reading Dickson's book and taking to heart about not playing against the wheel will not have the same level of understanding of what that means that someone else does with 25 years of experience under their belt.

That's as good as I can explain it.

Good luck to you BTW and Merry Christmas.

if the wheel very balanced,
in a long spins...say, 100spins.

then all parts of the wheel will have,
almost EQUAL hits.

if the wheel imbalance BIASED,
then a certain part/parts,
will have MORE hit than the other part/parts.

this is some fact YOU need to ponder before you move on.

Hello BTW,

This was from yesterday.

[attach=1]

I don't look at this and think the wheel is biased. It's just the 'law' of disproportionate occurrence at work. This is the way it mostly goes or at least you can find one characteristic working like this more often than not if you look hard enough. The casinos would have went extinct a long time ago if the 'long run' were truly replicated in the 'short run'.

Just remember ''though the whole is still equal to the sum of its parts, the parts  themselves are not simply abbreviated versions of that whole''.

Cheers Gizmo.

Timing is such an important part of the game. Nobody can change the infinite probability model, but what you can do is carve it up or dissect it and then take out the pieces that you are interested in. Since we are in control of ourselves, we can harvest our desired crop when it becomes available.

I vote for Bet Selection, timing and MM in that order.

The timing of bets doesn't get that much mention on forums. Most people tend to stick to Bet Selection or MM. Fair play to Victor who did talk about dispersion surfing many years ago.

cheers.

With all respect ''Law''....I think a few of us cottoned on to things pretty quickly.

I am more worried about people who still think CEH and ''Simon'' COULD be real people 5 years later.

I am thinking of buying this and was wondering if anybody already had it and what's it like.

http://www.bjrnet.com/catalog/BacBuster.htm

It seems like it's the 'daddy' of them all and comes with a lot of bells and whistles. It supposedly recreates shoes from a live casino scenario to good effect.

Any advice welcome.

Have a read of this Matt.

It's called 'elongated star' and was posted up by 'johno' years ago.

http://www.gamblersglen.com/cgi-bin/teemz/teemz.cgi?board=_master&action=opentopic&topic=611&forum=Baccarat_Message_Board

This is probably as good a discussion as you are going to get on a public message board discussing the Star method and different variations.
