Creativity Adventures / Re: Experimenting 3 states Bias
September 23, 2024, 04:26:17 PM
Having come into this discussion a bit late can you point to the explanation of the "3-States Bias" so I can bring myself up to speed on this?

Always interested in working with things that appear interesting.

I'd give it a try if not just for the novelty of it!

I'm sure I'm dating myself but the wife and I really did like playing Keno at our breakfast tables a long, long time ago.   I'm sure that's all gone now and Keno runners are probably all in the old folks home by now but it was kind of fun.

If these table top machines are anything like the current crop of table top (built in) machines at the bar now, it may just be a big hit.

Well let's try this one again.

We all do something other than gamble with our daily lives and one of my things is competitive shooting.

This particular video is a run where you needed to shoot each target with three shots.  Two to the body and one to the head.  Pretty easy with an optic and a semi-automatic pistol but a little more difficult with an iron sight revolver!  And that was the division I was shooting.

As it turned out I shot it "clean" meaning no points down for misses.

I still think YouTube is a better medium for videos but I was in a hurry today so we get Google Photos tonight.

Monday Night IDPA Stage 2 on Google Photos

When the Blackjack tables all migrated to the 6/5 payout I just drifted away.

Kind of like the triple zero roulette.

Really?   How greedy do they need to get to convince people to just say NO.

Hey guys,

This is a test video (20 seconds) to see if the Google Photos rig works a bit easier than my usual method of uploading to YouTube and posting that type of link.

This was coming back from the range after the Monday night match.

If you cannot view it or it looks bad on your screen, please let me know.

The "Google" link is just that.  A link to the video whereas the YouTube video displays as a video.  Try them both and they "should" look identical.

What is a "pre-launch" sale and how many can they have before the actual "launch" price comes into play?

Nine pre-launches sounds a bit odd, but then my understanding of the entire endeavor is miniscule.

So, if I read this correctly, if I purchase $1000 of something called "BlockDag" now, when it actually launches I'll have $5,000,000.

Swell.  Where do I sign up?

QuoteBreaking news reveals that China has granted a license to Pi Network to operate within the country.

Well that certainly makes me want to rush out to my local ATM machine to see if I can acquire some Pi pseudo-currency.

Seriously.  What are all of these newly created Pi Billionaires going to do with all that Pi money?  Sell it for BitCoin?  Purchase a new Buick?  (Shanghai has a GM Buick plant, I've been there).

Personally, I wish the best for anyone attempting to get in on the bottom floor of still another digital coin or currency.  It's fun to watch but still looks like a gambling adventure rather than an investment for the future.

BitCoin appears to be in a spiral of people who have a fear of missing out (FOMO) and this new Pi coin looks like the same mind set may take over.

I believe we've seen this picture before and we will most assuredly see it again in the future.

Good luck to all in this new venture.

General Discussion / Re: A Question about Crypto
March 08, 2024, 11:15:03 PM
Albalaha,

Well, I still "own" my 1/10 share of a BitCoin.  The cost basis was $1000 to me.

Initially purchased as a joke while drinking with good friends, I probably have no reason to sell it and doubt I will ever sell it as my buddies are always telling me how it's going to be worth a real lot of money "in the future".

Besides, it is fun to tell people I have BitCoin when they ask but it's not something I think about on a day to day basis.

So for now my portion of the 1 BitCoin (10%) that we own sits in one of their accounts while waiting for "the big one" to hit.

Not so surprising is the fact that not one of these guys has mentioned selling it to take the profit.

It's just not that important and I think they're seriously waiting for the 1 million dollar mark.

And the profit back to each of us, approximately $5000 or so at this time, is not something we desperately need.

My last ammunition order was $5200 to put things into perspective for us.

I do enjoy reading about other people's experiences with their BitCoin exploits here.

I was going to post up another few shooting videos but I figured that might get boring for a lot of viewers (and believe me, I've got a lot of them) so here's something you've probably never seen.

In my former life as an airline pilot, we get to be very in touch with our machines.  One night over the Pacific my 747 even told me what it though of my flying skills. 8)

General Discussion / A Question about Crypto
March 05, 2024, 08:47:14 PM
I have a serious question(s) for those of you who are involved with the Crypto game.

What is the actual PLAN for your crypto "investments"?

Is it merely to make money, as in any gambling endeavor?

Is it to build something for on down the road when retirement looms large?

With your holdings in crypto, can you use it to live on or plan with for future expenditures?

Do you consider it a real investment in the future or merely something to dabble in while stumbling forward in life?

If you have a substantial amount in crypto, do you sell some to hold back some kind of profit or do you plan on just keeping it until it hits the magical 1 million dollar mark?

Do you have a tax strategy for any of this?

Can you use your crypto holdings as collateral on something in an emergency should the need arise?

I see the alure of the BTC game to many people but somehow I just don't see or visualize the outcome of this.   There simply has to be something I'm missing here.

I just moved another $70,000 from an asset that got called into another product that will produce a similar profit moving forward.  I would not even think about moving that money into a BitCoin.

Am I truly a Luddite in the 21st Century of money management in real life or am I simply not seeing the big picture in the digital world?

Albalaha's Exclusive / Re: cryptocurrency and me
February 17, 2024, 01:34:31 AM
Quote from: Albalaha on February 14, 2024, 04:33:33 PMToday, on 14th Feb 2024, Bitcoin is worth $51,544. All who were predicting its downfall and about it being useless or gimmic or having no intrisic value should learn a lesson now. I predicted this well in advance and the reasons for its future rise too. Just wait 5-6 months to see an all time high price, easily going over $80k.

So, are you buying now?

Got the win with the Chiefs +2.

Lost the OVER by a 1/2 point.

That was my third OVER loss by a half point this year.

I hate it when that happens.
