General Discussion / Re: "Woulda,coulda,shoulda"

The information age is great for many reasons however it has its downsides.

Too much information swimming around and it can easily lead to running around in circles.

That's what I see a lot on gambling forums.

A more productive way may be to take an idea and just solely concentrate on that one idea alone. Even if that means (god forbid) spending less time reading everything else.

It's good to just let a concept sink in and wait for the ideas to flow.  That is not going to happen overnight and I am serious when I say it could take months.

I think it's a good way to go through the process of finding what you are looking for rather than allowing your brain to regurgitate the same information over and over without really getting anywhere. Quality over quantity springs to mind. The answers will definately come if you give them time and don't have a mind cluttered with 101 different ideas running around.

My three favourites:

Thirteen against the Bank (Norman Leigh)

How to Win at Roulette and Blackjack (Roy Ward Dickson)

Monte Carlo Anecdotes (Victor Bethell)

I like them for the way they are written as well as the information about roulette play.

This is a good thread.

It's not the system that gives you the advantage, rather the permanence. This is what you need to attack. It's one reason why online casinos restrict players from the live wheel but still allow them to play the more balanced RNG.

Pity this thread fizzed out.

100 or so crazy ideas might had really led somewhere.

I am still looking at it however I have not had that much time.

It did lead to the idea for the 'second cycle' thread. (although I am sure that idea is not a new one)

Great replies! Thanks.

Imspirit has a very interesting site with a lot of good reading.

A lot of experienced players don't agree with what he wrote however.

Ian Harmer (sethbets) was the original author of 'Turnaround' and then went on to develop his 'Target Betting' strategy.

He has a site and a blog where he explains his concept in detail.

sethbets.com

targetbetting.blogspot.com

My opinion is that a smart method needs to have a smart betting strategy as well to get around the edge consistently.

Gambling Philosophy / Re: Is this win target an illusion?

Ideas like this win 15% / lose 40% of bankroll never made any sense to me.

Let's say you have a 200 unit bankroll...

You lose 40% in session 1 = 80 unit loss. You have 120 units left.

You lose 40% in session 2 = 48 unit loss. You have 72 units left.

You win 15% in session 3 = 10 units win. Happy days. Back to 82 units.

It's not my idea of a winning strategy at all. In fact, it's a very negative approach.

You are not giving any positive variance a chance to rapidly increase the bankroll.

Roulette is not always a grind and you have to take advantage when the opportunity presents itself. Don't limit the wins. Limit the losses.

wannawin

With a bankroll of 40 units...

+15% = 6 units

-40% = 16 units

80 unit bankroll...

+15 = 12 units

-40% = 32 units

200 unit bankroll...

+15% = 30 units

-40% = 80 units

My advice would be ''don't try this at home''  :-X

Sometimes the wins can come nice and early.

I was just having a look at Table 3 results today from Spielbank Wiesbaden...

[attachimg=1]

The 2 sets of missing numbers are as follows.

1st set: 0,2,3,4,5,6,9,11,20,24,27,33,35.

2nd set: 0,1,5,6,7,13,16,19,22,24,26,27,32,36.

The 2nd set produced the first winner when number 16 appeared. That was a repeat for the 5 pocket.

Then the 9 repeated a few spins later to give a winner for the 1st set.

What works even better is one of these.

[attachimg=1]

It's a Helix L10 wheel.

They are about £2 from W.H. Smith.

Cut out the Gala Cards and they fit perfectly around this wheel.

Then you just slide the inner wheel around the outside wheel.

Hello Twister

Here is a thread with a programme that can help.

http://betselection.cc/norcosoft/wheel-displacement-calculator/msg10084/#msg10084

What I did is go into the Gala Casino and grab a bunch of the scorecards.

I cut out the wheel on two separate cards making one slightly smaller than the other.

Then I pin them together allowing the smaller wheel on top to rotate around the larger outside wheel.

I mark around the inside wheel 0-36.

Point the 0 on the inside wheel to whatever is the current number on the outside wheel and then you are ready to go.

So let's say the 0 is pointing at 21 and the next number is 27.

You can see instantly the distance travelled is 6 pockets.

Then you reset the 0 on the inner wheel to the new number (27) and you are ready for the next number.

After 37 spins of marking the numbers that appear on both the outer and inner wheels, you can see at an instant which are the missing numbers for both sets.

Then I mark them with a different colour when one of them appears so as not to get confused. It makes it easy and I can see the bets to place in seconds.

Great for home or at the casino.

Hello RouletteFan

No problem!

I will use the first picture as an example.

The first number out was 19.

It then went to number 21.

You need to look at the single zero wheel.

Now count the pockets from the 19 to the 21.

You should have counted two.

The next number out was 33.

So count from the previous number out which was 21 around to the present number out which is 33.

I always work in a CW (clockwise movement) There is no need to use CW and CCW if you are not attempting V.B. or something similar.

21-33 = 17.

The next number out was 31.

So once again, count from the previous number out which was 33 to the present number out which is 31.

33-31 = 4.

So you can now see how it works....

19
21  2
33  17
31  4  etc....

So you end up with two lists of numbers.

Both of them will have an average of 12 numbers missing.

I would only start betting those numbers after the first appearance.

Betting from the first list numbers is easy.

The second list requires a bit of work because you have to make some calculations.

Let's say I wanted to bet number 19 from the second list and number 29 has appeared.

I then have to count 19 pockets around from the number 29.

I arrive at number 13. So this is my bet.

Now the important thing to remember is that this changes on every spin.

Let's say the 29 went to number 27.

That was only 18 pockets and one short for me to have a winner.

I now have to count around 19 pockets again. However this time, I need to do it from the number 27. I arrive at number 29. So this is my bet.

Have a look at the picture again and see where the number 19 won for the first time in the second list.

You will notice the winning number was 23.

So the number before that had to be number 3 (which it was) for the ball to have travelled the 19 pockets.

This is how you calculate the bets for the numbers in your second list.

I hope that explains it.

cheers

Here is a game using the same numbers from Table 4 and playing streets.

My gut tells me it won't produce as good results playing a streets variant.

I would still need to play it with single numbers even using 'streets' because of how the second set uses pocket distances.

You could go up a unit on the next cycle if the previous one did not produce a profit.

That would allow the possibility to catch an early win on the next cycle and make a decent profit. Plenty of options and no need to use dangerous progressions.

A 'double' win which sometimes happens and it's happy days.  :cheer:

You are right Vic. I never thought about this for streets. I will take a look.

My MO is more betting single numbers nowadays.

Just did a quick game looking to stop at a winner from Table 3 today.

I like this idea. I think it's one of my better ones.

There seems a bit of consistency to the selection process which is a good sign.
