I will throw a spanner in the works and say that's correct as long as you are not involving some kind of trigger as well.

I know a lot of guys have moved away from triggers but it's not impossible that they may be a few decent ones lurking about under the surface. Don't discount anything. You never know what might turn up!

What do all these guys have in common?

They all played as part of a team and all claimed to win at their chosen game!

Do we underestimate the difficulty of winning by playing alone?

I am not talking about the recreational player here. More about someone who is playing with an idea to supplement his/her income. You may say that can't be done. The people above claimed to do it. Two of them are non-AP as well!

Has anybody here played as part of a team! How did it go?

What would be the advantages and disadvantages?

I wouldn't worry too much JL. There are plenty of casinos out there. The one thing that strikes me reading a lot of books is the real pros work in teams. A one man outfit could certainly outstay his welcome if he got TOO greedy!

This is a true story what happened to a good friend of mine back in the 90's.

He was a professional shuffle tracker at the game of blackjack.

He went to greece thinking it would be some easy money and the casinos would not catch on to what he was doing.

So he won a large sum of money equivalent to about 20,000 euros.

He went out and had a meal and did not return to his hotel room immediately.

He was in for a surprise when he did get back. The room had been completely trashed and some of his papers went missing.

coincidence or not?

Maybe it was a good job he was not in the room at the time!


On the other side of the coin.......

I know several people who work within the industry. They all say that they are not concerned about anyone who wins money at roulette unless they are cheating.
They know it's a game of luck and that is true.

I have cleaned up this thread a bit!

It's not about selling so-called holy grails.

Anybody with a holy grail could be out playing it or entrusting colleagues to play it for them and get slowly rich. They would not be on here talking about it.

I ordered the book last night and will put up some of his progression twists once it arrives.

His book was recommended to me by several people. My goal for 2013 is to learn as much about MM as I can.

p.s. The fibonacci sequence is 1 1 2 3 5 8 13 21 34 55 89.

I think your example is using the D'alembert.

I just hope a few of you get some enjoyment from reading the book and that it maybe helps some of you with your betting. Roulette is my main focus and most of my energy goes in that direction at the moment. I don't really have time for anything else.

It is basically the following......


Go up one step after each loss and down one step after a win and start over after back-to-back wins or 2-out-of-3 wins.

He wrote a book in 1995 titled 'Beat the casino'. This is one of the many ideas he shared.

I will get it next week and write it up on here.

What I liked about it was that there was nearly always a selection which was a clear pick over the rest of the traps. This in an individual race would normally mean a skinny price however the prices for the trap challenge normally start around the 7/2 mark. I have had a few nice 5/1 and 11/2 winners with it!

That's true. So consistent has to mean you can overcome the 2.70% or 5.40% disadvantage. Otherwise you are not really winning!
