Good question, hopefully Ralph will answer soon.
I have botted this method and tried a few different permutations, if your bank/pockets is deep enough it will take a long time to fail. I have tested the following.
Trigger: get 5 uniques in a row eg; 1,23,32,34,12 OR if a repeat is found while waiting for a trigger keep the initial numbers and ignore the repeat until there's 5 numbers, results were no different so now I just do the later, ignore a repeater while gathering the 5 numbers.
I tried the same play as Ralph but found the drawdowns very very steep at certain stages so, Ralph may or may not agree to this slight adjustment, starting with 5 numbers, LL you now have 7 numbers covered, at this point Ralph would start adding his 1 chip to the first number and so on, that means he's increasing his stake long before he is in defficit so I decided to try waiting until the bak was -30 or more before adding chips, he was raising after 2 losses, I was raising after 5, I saw terrible runs still so increased it to -50 before adding extra chips this gave 7 losses before any further risk.
The reason I did this was, with hindsight, the longer the 7 numbers sleep the less chance they will all sleep much longer, sometimes they do but if you keep the cost down in the early stages recovery is a tad easier. I also didn't add chips IF the result won and remained behind, I only added chips on a loss.
