General Discussion / Re: Not rare at all!

"Sometimes I sit out 5-8 spins
without betting. How is this done where the spins are
only advanced if you bet."

You run 'free spins'.

Place chips on all 3 lines shown:

3 units on LOW
1 unit on 19-24
2 units on Doz3

Then click SPIN

[NB:  There are other ways as well but that will do the trick.]

None left. I've got it all.

"People want so badly
to believe they can play safely from the security of their
homes, they'll kid themselves all day long that RNG wheels
are as safe as their local casino."

YES!!  A very good point.

Assuming just for a moment BV's randomness control is honest (Ralph is cleaning them out very successfully!!), it sure raises issues about the Playtechs et alia who offer no such controls -- apart from reassuring motherhood statements that few experienced players believe.

In fact, I clearly recall a former casino programmer (or so he said) who revealed the shonky nature of RNGs in a forum post.  Might have been at RF...  Was a while ago...

Online Casinos / Re: Is Bet365 Casino Honest?

Dearie, dearie me...

I've only ever used BF for sports betting and without any problems -- touch wood.

Given that fiasco over the 10x business at their casino,  I'm now wondering if I've simply been lucky thus far to have escaped their obvious potential for underhand treatment of their customers.

I guess it all comes back to the fact that there is really no proper supervision and oversight by a statutory body with teeth.  ::)

Hmmmm....   A salutary tale.

Thanks very much for that detailed analysis.

The only bit that surprised me was Betfair's behaviour. I would have expected better than that from them.

Still, that's another lesson learned!  :(

Thanks, mate.

I particularly like their quote: "...probability is a slippery subject, full of paradoxes and pitfalls."

And don't we know it!!

It's possible you're getting a false positive, as it's called.

Why?  Because many gambling products have to "ring home" as part of their function.

That, of course, immediately triggers a response from your A/V software!!

Why?  Because ringing home is typical trojan/malware behaviour and so your A/V warns you accordingly.   Most of them include heuristic and behavioural analysis to discern hostile activity.

So it's always best to seek 2nd or even 3rd opinions from other A/V products.

Suggestion:

Scan the file here:    https://www.virustotal.com/

They will check it against over 40 (yes, 40) anti-virus solutions.

Still worried and not sure?

Then scan it here too:  http://virusscan.jotti.org/en

They'll check it against several of the "big name" A/V products.

If several flag a problem then there's an issue to take up with Ophis.

What the min bet on EC's on the live wheels? What is it
at Paddy?

I strongly recommend

1  You use Google to find that out for live wheels.

2  You visit this:  http://betselection.cc/online-casinos/which-online-casino%28s%29-would-you-recommend/

Victor once posted details of a mob that flogged casino software.

Their sales blurb made it VERY clear that buyers would be able to control a players' wins.

Sadly I lost the thread, but I'll PM Victor to see if he can recall it.

Meanwhile, look at all these casino software providers!!!   http://www.allcasino.org/software.html

Are they all honest?   >:D

Or is it a matter of dodgy easter eggs to manipulate winnings, that they only tell you about once you've bought the software?

General Discussion / Re: IS THERE SUCH A THING AS THIS?
January 24, 2013, 12:00:40 AM
Sam, from your perspective does it come down to whether or not a person plays for excitement/adrenalin-rush/recreation  or for profit?

See, the catalyst for this thread was coming across several instances in the past where system sellers claimed their product was virtually stress-free.

That got me thinking if such a thing could really exist or was it simply sales hyperbole. (You know, the same sort of thing as politicians' promises.)

I decided to seek others' opinions -- one of the functions of this forum.

After all, everyone handles losing money differently. And my guess is that losing money is a source of stress for many. As is tiredness. Confusion. Losing focus. All are stressors to some degree.
