Title: I sat down to write a book
Post by: Lung Yeh on October 25, 2014, 07:47:52 AM
Dear Sir,

I have been reading your posts which I find most interesting.

While I have only half your baccarat gaming experience (@15 years) I sat down to
write a book and it is now in a pretty advanced draft stage and I wonder if you would
like to review it and let me know your views. It's less than 40 pages.

My email address is shep_myyahoo.com.

Thank you kindly.

It's a holistic approach to baccarat gaming. There are betting amount rules but emphasises
the whole approach including the psychology aspects ie managing the Chimp,
scared to lose, dare to win etc etc.

It's free ... for now. Intend to donate all proceeds to charity if it ever goes to print!

that's nice to hear that your intend is to donate all proceeds to charity if it ever will be printed.
Ps, do you have the " Copyrights "?? and paid for??

Otherwise other people, scammers alike, can copy your book and claim it's theirs if the content is good.

Dr Mabuse and Rinzler, do keep an open mind on this one. I really think it's a different
approach after having done a few that are in the market.

I will post it here if I could but I think it's too long. So if you would give me your email
address, I will email it to you for your kind review and comments.

Or maybe we will just wait for Glen n another fellow forum member to review first.

Lung Yeh -- welcome  the forum!

Please don't be put off by the 'closed mind' brigade, whose skills include a form of precognition. They must have that skill, because they are able to pass judgement on your book before they've even read it.   ;)

Fortunately they are in the minority. Most members are far more open-minded.

I think this is a good forum with lots of members with real life gaming experience
to share. A lot of postings by the host hold true and relevant and also reflected in my book.

Cheers!

Winning or losing at the casino is about the here and now. There is no long term
if the short term is not taken care of. In life and in baccarat.

As the song goes 'You only know you have been high when you are feeling low'

Thank you one and all. I agree that the book does not have the system that some
of you may be looking for. The proverbial pot of gold. Nevertheless, in my mind the
book does provide strategies and rules; not to be confused with a betting system that
some would love to find. A system that tells you where to bet and gives you +500 units over
a few hours. Sorry to disappoint in that regards.

Since being on the forum, I have learnt quite a bit. Cheers!

One of the pointers in my book is that one must always be humble
in the casino. If the game reflects real life, then the same applies in life.

Every time I win in a few visits, and I get even slightly arrogant that
the casino will be beat, the casino will humble you. And I see it all the time
with the high rollers. Be humble or be humbleD.

Kudos to Glen for his humility reinforced by his subtle arrogance. Love your
style

Dear World Baccarat King (WBK),

I find your postings interesting, very interesting as a matter of fact.

I try to follow some of you throughout the different threads but finding
it difficult jumping here and there.

So WBK, at this point in your life, are you making a good or decent living
out of baccarat? Are you in agreement that winning at baccarat is possible
or impossible? What kind of absolute amount winnings are we talking about
when we say make a living out of baccarat? Ball park.

These are sincere questions to learn from the many Masters here. You may
choose to 'spade' it if you like. We baccarat players learn to live with the cards
we are dealt with!! Cheers!

Overall in baccarat, I am out money like 99.9% of the rest of the world....

Do I think it's possible? Depends, anyone can win any session but long term, what is long term, 5x a week, 5x a year?

Can you make a living out of baccarat, well maybe one in a million can, sure....

don't take offense to what I said, I simply said your book was full of holes. Basically, rambling. If you have a system, post it. We will analyze it and see if it's legit or not, it's really that simple. Beating around the bush proves nothing........

WBK,

I am here to learn and take your comments as valid comments. I am on
a no turning back mission to try and win into the foreseeable future and
write a book to help those who share the same beliefs knowing full well
that I may fail  and probably will!

I run a reasonably profitable business and at my age (>50) has passed over
the day to day operations to a core group of trusted lieutenants while I
embark on this new joy (stress) of mine.

The book, is a side attempt. It espouses a holistic approach which some, like you
can critique it as ramblings. There are rules and strategies but did not propose
the system approach that you want. However there are some bet rules that
I have used and find most useful. Maybe, just maybe, used in tandem with any
system one adopts can yield the right results consistently.

And no offense taken. Spades, hearts, diamonds or clubs.

Post what you believe in.  Strive to do better in your profession and family life.  If you believe in your book keep improving it.  Go over and over it again.  Add more experiences to it.  Don't relate too much to the outside casino world, let people draw their own analogies to the circumstances within it (IMHO).

Dr Mabuse, Rinzler, Jim & everybody else,

Seriously, in this forum of ours, nobody is net up from baccarat and/or making
a decent living out of winning at the tables?

I am totally discouraged. Can someone keep my spirits up by telling a real life
situation of someone they know who makes a living professionally from baccarat?

So brothers (are there sisters here?), I have just arranged to go to the local casino here, Genting
for a trip on Thursday and Friday. RM200,000 or @US60-65k buy in capital.

I will follow as much as I can the rules and strategies espoused in my 'book', will
keep all the score cards and see how it goes. If I lose this time, I am going to give
up baccarat forever. Hold it to me guys!

In the score cards, I always circle those outcomes that I betted and won. Those that
are not circled are betted and lost. Those with a small tick / by the side are
hands I skipped.

Hope my Chimp goes to sleep!!!

There were many windows on the second and third floor of buildings in and around Chinatown in NYC that were steel barred and it was not generally, to keep people from breaking in.  Whatever.  Ask someone that is Asian to explain it all to you what happened in NYC.

I am in the Midwest, no big casino around.  Only mini-baccarat table or two at the regional casinos.  No interest.  Once in a while I pop in there.  Going to Vegas end of year for a week trip.  Large event in Spring also in Vegas.  Might visit Atlantic City this winter also.  I started a new company 3 months ago so I am concentrating on that 6 and 7 days a week 15 to 20 hours a day.
