Title: Is it a new way to deal cards in baccarat?
Post by: Albalaha on October 24, 2013, 04:35:28 AM
In my last casino trip, I saw a robotic arm dealing cards in baccarat. It was as good as a real dealer and had all rules of baccarat dealing properly feed in it. I saw that after dealing one hand, it uses to burn an extra card from the shoe before dealing another.
Same thing I have witnessed in paddypower live casino too. If I am not mistaken, I saw same thing in celtic casino (VIG studio casinos) live dealers too but today I saw they are dealing in old classic way without burning extra cards.
I have heard of continuous shuffling machines too which do not burn cards away but rather shuffle the dealt cards inside shoes again and again.
Does it really ensure any benefit for the casino? How many of you witnessed such things?

Re; the post above.

Don't be fooled by many answers to your question.
Keep in mind that Baccarat as close to 50/50 as it gets is completely random. I find the more random the better when it comes to shuffling, but no matter how cards are shuffled or burn cards removed, same results occur from tables = 50/50 random hands.

Albalaha,

Once the casino starts making their own version of the game, it is no longer baccarat, it is "something else".

The rules of the game are simple and strict and burning a card after every hand is a local addition to the game.

I have seen this introduced to one of our casinos and within a week, the practice was stopped.  NONE of the regular players would play the game with the burned card modification.

Baccarat is a deceptively simply game.  The recent changes to it globally (Dragons, etc) are there for one reason only and that is to increase casino profits.   Yes, it gives the "gambler" some thrills, but kindly notice that it does not change the game or the way the cards come out of the shoe.

Only the burn card does that.

Captain (adulay).
I 100% agree with you and best of luck for your today's game.

This kind of dealing you can find on a few online casinos but not in a brick and mortar. I wouldn't be surprise if physical casinos would be using this way to deal in the future.
