$30.00? Really?
Can we all wait until it comes down to $5 where it should be before rushing out, en masse, to purchase it?

I laughed so hard reading the review of the novel. Really hilarious. But I don't know if we are on the same subject here.
Just checked "The USB Book" to see if anyone has written up a report on it.
Nope. Nothing yet.
However the Kindle price is now $39.99.
I don't understand that at all.

I took a look $49.99 and no review yet ...
Cheers
I would love to know just how Amazon/Kindle figures the selling price for an item and the reason that it fluctuates so much.

Certainly an inquire with their customer service/sellers section is very feasible, possible, quick response and in-line to seek the truth for inquiring minds.
Note: Done and sent to Amazon, I am very curious now that AD raised this question and the other 'innuendoes' I read on the board here about this. Maybe we just need to get technical??

The author determines the price and it can be changed at anytime. Amazon doesn't care if it fluctuates every second.

Direct quote from a board member/sponsor reference Amazon's handling of books on their site:
"with respect for the most part book prices are set by Amazon, the price changes depend on algorithms within Amazon. A price is set and Amazon offer discounts which change depending on a number of factors."
Maybe the answer is ironically similar to: Baccarat can be a great daily earning, quitting your job and playing every day making numerous units each and every shoe. For sometimes you win and other times you might lose. But if you stick to wagering the side it is supposed to cut to, which has to be after a double repeat of one side, and also don't forget that---must follow a single banker or a player, then you wager the cut side for the bet you are about to place, but only if the count is no greater than 9 wins of either banker or player. With one more variant, you won 3 units and did not lose and your goal is 3 to 5 units. If you won 6 or more units, then you have to stop and do not take advantage of anything with the shoe, even if you see a very strong banker forming, you cannot wager. But if you do, only wager on the cut no matter how matter times banker continues to happen. Also only flat bet, never fall into the rut of wagering progressions, even if you are winning.

Here is the answer directly from Amazon:

Hello,
Thank you for writing to us, I hope you're doing well!
I've reviewed your previous email correspondence and I am sorry to know your questions weren't answered properly.
I understand your concern about the price fluctuations on books published by authors on our website.
To help you with this, I've made some research and came up with few answers.
If the book is hard cover book , in kindle or paperback format and is being "sold by Amazon" we'd be having an agreement with the author or publisher to sell it at some estimated price.
The price for these formats will be varying only if it is being "sold by any seller" on our website, may it be shipped by Amazon or seller is shipping it independent of Amazon this applies to any of the retail items too.
Meaning that if the item/book is being sold by seller on our website seller will decide the price.
You can check whether the book you're interested in purchasing is being sold by Amazon or seller on item description page.
Also, if you're an author and want to publish the book we've a dedicated team who might be able to answer all your questions with detailed information on list pricing policies if you've author central account.
If you need assistance in creating an author central account or want to know more about how pricing is decided in detail they will be in best position to help you quickly.
You can write directly to them at below email address:"
And with an additional phone call from an Amazon supervisor, I was told, "The only fluctuation in pricing should be on those obvious 3rd party selling Amazon dealers", etc. The author and direct seller should not, against Amazons agreements and/or better advise to do just that, raise and lower the prices sporadically. Unless, is is a decline after an extended period of time on outdated or historical technical information related books, etc.
So believe what you all want. Directly from Amazon, they do not control, adjust and set fluctuating pricing during the week, several prices on their books being sold in regards to anything remotely caused with amount of hits/views, etc. Everything is pretty much up to the seller/author if he is selling the book directly on Amazon. I was also told point blank, the only thing they really look for is some kind of greatly over inflated gouging or out of the norm---pricing, etc. They cannot control or set prices for several reasons including anti-trust and other regulatory matters since they are not the owners of the proprietary rights, etc., etc.
Thanks for the information.
Very interesting.

Great information. Tells me all I need to know.
Now I understand the guy's sales plan.
You HAVE to purchase the version 2.1 (at $49.99) in order to be able to comprehend the CURRENT version at $39.99.
This way, when version 3.0 shows up next month, you'll at least be in the ball park on how to play that way!
Genius! Why didn't I come up with a plan like that?

I was driving home last night on a super rural 2 lane highway about 150 miles form home. Dark, humid, rained and nearly 100 early in the day and probably around 85 plus last night. Windows fogging up cause of he A/C in the car. Had a hard time to keep it on the road for a few miles because of your post!!! Laughed so hard and started thinking about possibilities. Like a porn equals with Back to the Future. Or adult parties with the Ghostbusters and a ballroom full of sexy and beautiful college girls, etc. The list is endless. Part 1, Part 2, Parts 3 to all the pretty good movies, the only real problem is the absolute deterioration in the stories, plots and jokes, except maybe for our friend, Clint Eastwood with Dirty Harry movies..................
