Title: The software you were not supposed to see............
Post by: TwoCatSam on February 17, 2013, 02:56:35 PM
Forum members........

I paid Victor $50 to write this software for me.  What I got was a very good clicker but one he would not let me share.  I have emails in which I asked him if I could make a video and distribute this to the forum.  He said no.  Why I don't know.

Anyway, this clicker "Clickmate" has been promised for months.  I feel crappy having it and not being allowed to share.  So share I will.  It is attached.  You will notice is says "for Sam only".  Wonder how many other pieces of software he has distributed to others, "for their eyes only"?

I hired Normy to do a complicated job.  Less than 24 hours, it was complete.  I hire Stef and Nick--same story.  I hire Victor and hell freezes over a couple of times......

I am an honest man.  I am not a good man to cheat.  I do not turn the other cheek; I sharpen the other sword.

I was told by two very reputable members that Victor would break it off in you if the need presented itself.

For my G.U.T clicker/tracker, I paid $50.00 down with the promise it would be done by Christmas.  My wife was paying and that was my Christmas present.  Instead she paid Stef and Nick.  They have an email to prove it.  I was then asked to send the other $50.00 because it was Christmas and Victor wanted to buy his family something.  Reasonable request, so I sent another $50.  Then came the boy's birthday and, even though I had paid in full for the software, I sent another $25.00.

Now Victor won't answer my e-mails. I guess he thinks he's got all the money he can from me.  What a chicken heel way to be.

As to the first clicker, the one I attached, it is very good with one bug.  I learned how to get around the bug and I'll help anyone who wants me to.  Does anyone remember I said a clicker was coming that would really help us all?  I wrote it in an email to Lady K and I still have it.  I am not exaggerating.

I do not expect this post to last so it will be on the other forum.

How to set up the clicker.

You will find a cross hairs, like a scope on a rifle Obama wants to ban.  Click and drag that to the screen you want to capture; BV, Dublin, any other casino.  A new casino screen will appear.  It will ask you how many chips there are (.01, .10, .50 and so on).  You can put in all or just one.  Then place the cursor over the numbers starting with 0 and right click each one down thru 36.  When you have clicked 36, go the the smallest chip and click it.  When you are finished, a box will appear asking you to name the casino.  Do so.

Here is the bug:  You must be very careful how you close the tracker.  Close it before the casino window or you will have to do the above set up procedure again.

It will work for splits.  Here is how:  Click zero and the split 1/4; 2/5/and 3/6.  Then click 4,5,6.  Do the same for all splits.  It will click horizontal also.  Just click the split you want and any number.  When time to bet, click the 1 and it will place the chip on the 1/4 split.

I'll make a video if anyone wants.

This is a very good clicker and my $50.00 was well spent.  But why is a man hell bent for leather to give away software not wanting this distributed?  Because he has probably sold it to many others with their name on it!

Now he wants a forum where people pay.  You figure it out...........

LOL, me neither Sam, I've had PM's in the past about Vics' hunger for money, hence my posts on his "PAID MEMBERSHIP" thread, the man has people to feed that's understood but forums are not the way to make a living in my opinion.

Sorry Vic

I wish a bunch of you guys would come forward, quote both my posts and post them.  Let's see how many he will delete!

Folks, I have the e-mails!!  If you want to see them, just ask.

Superman does not lie.  TwoCat does not either!!

Hi Sam, I haven't done emails in some time. Perhaps a week.

I'm usually beaten when I get home and only log into the forum.

I have no problem in you sharing the programs

I'm ending current data-entry job (inventory) on Tuesday. You can share any proggies I give you too.

(P.S. why not sending a PM first  :) as you saw me logged?)

Cheers!

Vic

I sent you a pm and an email.  You chose not to answer.

Do not tell me you told me I could share the clicker.  I have your e-mail asking me not to.  I keep everything!

Just finish my G.U.T. software.  All it needs is the clicker.  Then give it away!  I paid $125.00 for it, but give it away in your "free" section.

I'm truly sorry you brought this to the point I felt I had to do this.

Hey Sam I admit I asked you not to share it.I didn't want you to share it because I grabbed a chunk of that code from a former paid project  :stress:

Coders do reuse code, but users don't usually like to see this re-use.

I do admit I said you not to share. but now it IS shared... no problem on my side.

Now chances are the original user will contact me about the re-use... Another spot for the Leopard! Mind you.

P.S. Sam, last PM I got from you is:

Re: An ignore request « Sent to: VLS (http://betselection.cc/profile/VLS/) on: January 27, 2013, 08:02:50 PM »

Perhaps it's better if we continue this via PM? 1 to 1?

P.S. The topic isn't going to be removed, but please let's keep it clean!

Thanks.

In my experience most coders only allow their work to operate on 1 computer per payment, unless with prior agreement.

Nothing unusual about agreeing to not share software.

Well, loud one, let's take Normy and Stef for example.  Their software runs on specific computers and won't run on one it is not permitted to run on.

Had Victor wanted the software protected, he could have done that.

You might want to check your facts.  I know of NO programmers who create worthwhile stuff that do not protect it in some manner.  Copyminder comes to mind as one way.  Only a fool would program something great and then let it be the kind of program anyone can install.  An .exe, I think.

To VLS:

Could you explain this statement by Sam please:

I was then asked to send the other $50.00 because it was Christmas and Victor wanted to buy his family something.  Reasonable request, so I sent another $50.  Then came the boy's birthday and, even though I had paid in full for the software, I sent another $25.00.

To 2Cat:

All I can say is that things can get confused using email and pms. Misinterpretations, delayed responses etc. this can lead to situations where two friends get upset.

I hope this is the case. You and I would both agree that before this incident VLS was always seen in a great light.

I guess I am saying it is difficult to judge.

"I guess I am saying it is difficult to judge."

And perhaps we shouldn't judge, but keep our noses right out!

After all, the issue seems to be a private issue that should have been resolved privately -- not made public.

Both have offered explanations of their viewpoints and the matter appears to be resolved.

Hello Max, I'm glad you made a point about coming back to productive discussion by locking the thread, but I do want to unlock it for a min since the points above deserve to be addressed.

Yes, certainly dear AMK.

Though I must say to address it properly for you to understand I'm obliged to provide some background.

I've been living "contract to contract" since my last "stable" regular job several months ago, last year.

At the first time I've asked since it was either to continue programming or halting and going out job hunting to complete Christmas.

This year, my health since mid january has been quite shaky. I did have to forcefully stop working altogether neither online nor offline. I publicly talked about "flu", but I got worse.

I sincerely thought I wouldn't make it to have something left to give my son a birthday gift. I asked Sam if he would top it with *something* then it would be either for extra features or be forwarded as coding credit for any other project. $25 isn't a fortune, but I could complete the kiddo's gift.

It was right before I obtained my current data-entry and inventory contract, which finishes on Tuesday.

Both times were on special occasions (christmas, birthday) as a private call to a friend, and sadly I must say when I was in uncertainty. Should my kid's birthday had been only one more week later, such message shouldn't had been seen the light. The "wifey" was really on my back. I am very thankful to Sam for this.

After last year's Venezuelan casinos crackdown (http://yogonet.com/english/2012/04/25/casino-closure-in-venezuela-left-around-100-000-people-unemployed) finally reached my state, I couldn't even try my luck. Mind you.

Gladly as I receive this local contract's payment, i can make it up to her and my son with a proper present. Things go up and down in life and the game, no bad beat lasts forever!

Best regards.

Indeed, and that's the only way I do my programs.

I simply don't believe in vendor lock-in.

True; I will get the odd leak, but that's inevitably going to happen so I better spend my limited coding time in actually producing program code rather than restricting what the user can do with his program.

I am even keen to share the how-to's with fellow programmers. I'm not against creative copying.

Thanks for caring and participating.
