Title: Winning day but a loss?....Yep
Post by: Mr J on September 09, 2013, 03:01:18 PM
This is my opinion, not sure if you agree? I played on Friday, started with a 1K BR. Had a terrible day playing a certain method and was down to around $300.

I gave up with the method but decided to "play around" with the last $300. I still only played 2-3 numbers, did not base my bets on anything worth noting. Anyways, I finished with $1,100 and went home.

I keep track of everything at home, in detail, in notebooks. I jotted the day down as a LOSS. The method failed (at least that day) so why LIE and pat myself on the back? I felt like s**t leaving the casino even though I made $100.

Do you see how goofy I am regarding this game? (lol)

Ken....If I was...say...a boxer and trained for 6 month...then on the big night my opponant slipped after 3 seconds and twisted his ankle...so I won because he retired....I would feel pretty much like you did I guess.

I've run out of enough to place the correct bet for what I was playing an just thrown my last 3 u on 13. It won.
Made me wonder what all the hours tracking was all about.

Ken,
Can you feel like a winner if you play  your "method" very correctly and systematically and end up in a loss due to missing a bet somehow?
I won't. Even the best of methods get you losses at wrong time when variance attacks and vice versa.
You end up with a net gain, you are obviously a winner and it was time to cheer. Luck still have a say in gambling, howsoever logical and mechanical you are.

Mr. J that is a dangerous practice.  Yes you got lucky
:d but know that is a symptom of compulsive gambling.

Mr J in the past have done what did, but now I try very hard to stick to my loss goal.  It's not nice to have a losing session but I have learnt the hard way that it is just part of gambling any gambling.

My win goals for a session is fluid and it changes as the session progresses, easy session higher win goal tough session lower win goal, really tough session just happy to break even.

In the long run I win more sessions than I lose and the winning sessions make up for any losing sessions I have so I'm happy.

But even now I still have to remind myself about all the good winning sessions I have when everything go's against me.

For me the biggest enemy is not the Casino it's what's in your head!

Very nice and you find a true mindset ,,, i like what i read very much ... and your mentality ...
When you are on a good tram you hit more and when you are on a bad tram you keep loses short and quit ... very nice mindset ...

---Have done similar trilions times throughout my playing years.
Sometimes swapping 5/8 methods throughout the night, and couldn't hit the exit point...
and then its better walking away with a small loss or win....being in the battle is the main thing.
