Poll
Question:
Why Do You Come Here? I visit this forum because:
Option 1: I believe gambling is the potential answer to my money problems
Option 2: Someone will eventually post a method that always overcomes the house edge
Option 3: Gamblers' Grails exist and one of them is probably going to be here...[if only I could find it]
Option 4: I consistently lose more than I win and want to learn from anyone here who wins more than they lose [assuming they're telling the truth]
Option 5: I enjoy interacting with others who share my interests
Option 6: I have an urge to post disruptive and vexatious comments just to annoy others [but I really don't have a mental problem...really I don't...]
Option 7: I'm looking for something that probably doesn't exist [except in my head as a form of wishful thinking]
Option 8: this is just one of several forums I visit on a regular basis because reading the posts is a form of recreation for me
Option 9: I'm writing a thesis to do with human behaviour on forums
Option 10: I have other reasons not listed above
Option 11: It offers good selling opportunities
From time to time questions have been asked about reasons for being here.
So, rather than reading only guesses and speculation about reasons this simple poll is an attempt to get some real answers.
I've left it open-ended so future votes can be cast.
They told me I would find the real Santa here!
My reasons: I enjoy interacting with others who share my interests
AND
Other reasons not mentioned here, including:
1. To be in touch with good programmers who helped me become farsighted with their skills which were not possible manually. I
even learnt to simulate most of my ideas myself on excel.
2. To make people aware of fallacies and wrong assumptions and to promote positive and healthy gambling.
Some folks told me if I hang out here long enough I can achieve X-Ray vision.
My one vote has already had a 9% impact.
There are winning methods in roulette that enable the house edge to be overcome.
I have certainly pointed toward the direction of research that can enable such achievement. Even with the best of knowledge you may still lose from time to time. Essence is to restrict loss and also advantage winning. Better still find a suitable smart bet that is efficient and economical. Play only with money you afford to risk or potentially lose, ie free money. Playing with scared money, ie money that should be prioritised for use elsewhere, causes extreme stress anxiety and eventual catastrophic failure. Learn not to do this. Learn not to do a lot of things that others do. Be honest with yourself, and others so you are trustworthy.
As soon as a modest and suitable realistic profit is made per session, then leave, enabled to return another day and further build on your profit. Research the power of compounding and Einstein's work on this. It is taught at Wharton.
It is unlikely that a step by step method will be posted on this Forum that has all the answers, but by having the right attitude, asking the right questions, and being at the right place at the right time with sufficient resources will enable success. I have posted material and seen material here posted by others that can enable a full time professional income once fluent, resourced and experienced.
Know that is possible and the winning edge you achieve can be measured very accurately.
My colleague does it every day and has proven a method that meets all the criteria of testing sought by Charles and Simon. I say this to encourage others. It requires about 10,000 hours of work. That will deter most.
Intent of my post is to encourage and hopefully raise some questions and challenge/ shatter some negative attitudes.
Christmas Greetings

I will go into this with more practical help - no not hints - when writing on my Blog in early 2015.
The statements I have recently been able to make are able to be verified should anyone care to enquire and I believe my statement will arouse remarkable interest. By the way my work is not for sale or hire. It has been done to show others what can be achieved.
I can refer you to an independent website which can permit you to measure and determine your range of performance against the casino with your method. I say range because it swings between optimal and adverse parameters. Many readers here are not idle patrons with more money than sense. Instead many genuinely seek and search for genuine ways forward.
There have been many fraudsters over the years who have taken advantage of this sincere search. Charles and Simon were the last. My passion to beat the game was fired by their willful and pre-meditated fraud. It cost me three years of research.
However what treasures came out of this - and it is true, sometimes adversity is your best friend.
My colleague who is a research chemist by profession has actually prioritised his best methods and has established that his best methods meet the requirements that Charles established to definitively evaluate a winning method. This is based on over 22.5 million spins of tests thanks to digital efficiencies where the seemingly impossible has now been made possible at will.
Also fundamental credit must be given to my colleague Sqzbox who first defined an 'efficient bet'.
I will be writing with some live report detailing from early January 2015.
Happy New Year

I vote: I enjoy interacting with others who share my interests.
Cheers
I just enjoy interacting with people, especially when there is something common to share, sometimes it is hard to communicate in real life, so for this is a great solution
Because it`s there.
Thanks to you Victor.
Thanks Helen and Nathan for most recently contributing to this discussion in the spirit with which Vic originally posed the question.
Let me update my answer from 18 months ago.
Many reasons, and the first was to get out of my system the anger and frustration I felt after being shafted by the Swiss scammers. There was a rage and passion that needed to be channeled.
Over the years amazingly I learned to understand more through all the brilliant contributions on this Forum - and a few other locations as well - and in the big picture even the really bad moments dealing with scammers, trolls, unbalanced administrators ( not here), through the hostile times, I learned so much, also that your 'enemies' can teach you most. Those can be personalities, attitudes, conditions, and self beliefs, of others, and oneself, that are immature and need to change and grow. Also one needs to accept more, and not judge, although it is necessary to observe and consider.
What has really come clear is that by taking a risk, and putting forward ideas and observations, the return is magnificent and through this Forum I have had the great good fortune to meet individuals who have contributed in my life to be 'life-changing' in the highest sense. Now that is intended to be the highest praise. Thanks Vic.
I enjoy the entertainments, hey hey.
Because roulette is a great game (If you can avoid big losses)

Who am I?
How about, I don't want to post disruptive messages (but I will anyways) and I really do have mental issues??
I know Victor to be one of the classiest forum operators in the gambling industry and was completely excited about the prospects of a moderated forum on gambling ideas and thinking. It was at this forum that I decided to publish all my secrets regarding my discoveries on randomness. Having kept them secret for six years before that and being ridiculed openly on other forums for making claims without backing them up, I decided it was time. This forum is the no excuses place to disclose everything. Because of this and the staff here holding my feet to the fire with regards to my very short temper at forums like GG, I have cooled off and become capable of giving without being flustered too much. I hope this all leads to a book. For me the forum is a pragmatic means to an end.
Mostly to learn of new techniques, systems, and read analysis on the industry. There's always something to learn, even if most of it doesn't provide a quantifiable edge.

I agree with this statement and I'd like to add that even if a strategy is not a solution in its self, it could "move" your perception, inspire you, give you the motivation, which at the end would make you create your own successful solution.
The source of inspiration and motivation doesn't have to be necessarily another strategy/method/system, but even something as simple as a quote.
On the top of these, also I got in contact with programmers such as Victor, the global administrator, who except his programming skills, he is also a very nice person!
A win-win situation!! :cheer:
