To me,
              wins and losses are two sides of a coin and keep coming almost equally although with varying frequencies.
Point is, we can't guess which span will get which kind of frequency of wins or losses.  Therefore, a strategy is only sound enough keeping the absolute randomness and virtual limit in mind always.
     Even if you get 20 losses in a row or say 18 wins in a row, it is not end of a life. Think of long run where things are smoother and lesser unpredictable.

Do we have some way to pre-guess the next outcome? We will always expect a little below equilibrium number of wins(due to the house edge) and play further accordingly.
          For example,
                 if I can pre guess that 18 successive wins will come now, I will play a reverse martingale and win all the chips of casino in a go. In a random game, a positive attitude player will never assume too rosy future outcomes but realistic and worst ones only.
