Hi guys,

Just wondering if you get what we are trying to achieve with the new sponsor's den: We are not selling software, we are asking for sponsorship to give software away to the whole community.

Also, your sponsorship help us pay for host and directly helps in paying the needed coding hours.

Ideally as time go by, more conscious people will join forces and we can have a healthy release schedule. It is a true community spirited motion, a true synergy effect. Plenty of "littles" makes a compounding force. With this force, fellow supporting members call the shots to order for the community and ultimately everybody enjoy the final product, as it is released to the public.

Now you know what we're trying to achieve, you can do your part. If $10 isn't a budget-wrecking amount for you and you can afford to spare it, right now is a great time to join. To help the snowball effect to begin running.
It actually benefits everyone, in the short and long run :nod:

General Discussion / Sponsors join button enabled!
July 17, 2013, 11:25:06 AM
Fellow members who would like to support our community can now join as Sponsors using the button located at the forum's upper-right.

There is only one "level" ($10).

The resources are being used for covering coding hours devoted to the betterment of our community, to cover hosting expenses as well as sponsoring the release of free & open-source software for download.

As fellow members join, some extra sponsor-only services are being enabled (i.e. auto-updates for software and others).

This is the start of a positive cycle. By becoming a sponsor you give back to the community you love so the community can reciprocate you with more.

See you at the Sponsors' Den!!

Meta-selection / TIMELINE & "continuation"
July 12, 2013, 03:37:04 PM
"You have to bet what is showing, instead of what you think might show"

The name of the game for timeline-based play is: CONTINUATION.

You have a betting template (whatever it is: Kimo's matrix, A standard wheel disc or your custom-made betting template) and you only bet for the events you are witnessing to replicate.

Always keep in mind roulette is a game without theoretical limits. You should never bet against it... past a very defined "attack zone".

You must have your set of spotted events/patters/triggers and only enable them after the game realizes one, and you stick to it for the whole duration of the cycle.

Remember for simplicity a cycle is derived from the payout. i.e. 12 spins for streets, 6 spins for a double-street, 9 spins for a square, 3 spins for a dozen...

You need to use a "rolling window" comprising no more than the length of the cycle for your target location.

(You see me talking about 37-spin a lot lately because I'm betting straight-up numbers)

Don't worry about collisions. Even if you are betting 2 or 3 locations you should account for the cycle of each one for considerations regarding how much to hold its actual bet.

SO:

- You have an arsenal of recurrently spotted events in your template.
- You only pick them AFTER they realize for the current cycle (your "rolling window").
- You hold the bets no more than one cycle for the location. If there is no hit past this cycle, you disable it.

* as a special option you should be OK with holding a bet active for as many cycles as required shall you encounter a "random walk" in progress.

That's continuation at its best.

Gambling Philosophy / RE: BREAK EVEN
July 12, 2013, 02:20:18 PM
Breaking even is very important for the savvy player.

It is inherent in every player to make the goal to have as much WON sessions as possible, but if not attainable in a certain day then BREAKING EVEN is the best stopping point.

Think of the bigger picture.

You didn't lose, so there's no negative impact in your session-to-session scorecard nor in your pocket. Your units are safe with you for a new battle.

Remember: in the monthly balance there's no difference between a unit won and a unit saved.

Online Casinos / BitCoin casino with live roulette

http://www.casinobit.net/

Fully anonymous betting. No registration, no ID verification, no nothing.

Instant withdrawal.

The way to wager is to click the desired bet, send bitcoin to the generated address; then receive winnings to the sender of the bet.

..Given the One Bet At A Time way, it is ideal for flat betting mostly. You would have a hard time making progressions or complicated chip-placing schemes on it.

This opens up the door for a new breed of "BitCoin bots".

Only time will tell us about the acceptance rate for this anonymous, instant-withdrawal way to enjoy action on live roulette.

Double-street / 123 Line Grind
July 03, 2013, 12:57:53 AM
"Natural" lines. 1-6, 7-12, 13-18, 19-24, 25-30, 31-36

Full cycle consists of three (3) spins.

There are two (2) alternating modes.

Mode #1:

When a number is spun, bet the OTHER double-street/line on the spun dozen.

Since there are 3 dozens, you can bet at most 3 double-streets/lines.

If no hit within the 3 spins, change to mode #2.

Mode #2:

When a number is spun, bet the SAME double-street/line the number belongs to.

Since the cycle is at most 3 spins, you can bet at most 3 double-streets/lines.

If no hit within the 3 spins, change to mode #1.

This is a grind because should you chart this flat betting, you'll notice the methods are somewhat "opposite", i.e. when one rocks, the other usually sucks and vice-versa.

Plug progression in at your own taste.

Each website/community has its own personality.

That's because each community chooses its own path. There's the path of anger and there's the path of love [attachimg=1].
If there's anything we need to be recognized for is due to being a lovely, helpful community  :rose:

Helping a fellow community member is an act of love. Sharing knowledge among ourselves is also an act of love. Treating each other with respect too.

This is why nasty remarks regarding other fellow members need to be reported. There's a " Report to moderator" link below every post, you can be certain every report will be acted upon by our community's staff.

...Certainly we the staff can't possibly read every post in the forum 24/7, but all fellow members as a whole do. When you read something that's out of tune with our community's guidelines and spirit, please report.

By treating each other with respect and adorning our pages with camaraderie bearing sincere interested for the common good, we pave the road for attracting and fostering larger amount of positive interaction.

There are sites that condone attacking posts, we don't. Let's foster love.

Meta-selection / Repeater focus
June 28, 2013, 08:22:16 PM
It's interesting to execute regular disk-based selection dumping all "oners" and focusing only on 2+ shows.

Some selections such as "super zones" are consistently showing with them, plenty of times saving units for the cycle.

The repeater-only selections have the advantage of playing what's showing, always avoiding sleepers.

Like I said, an interesting one to try.

Cheers!

Due to the recent wave of "silent spamming", we have implemented an anti-spam measure affecting the ability to add websites to members' signatures and profiles.

Now each of the submissions must be posted publicly.

This is great since the requester can have initial traffic and -more importantly- the process is transparent and the community can have a say on the sites being proposed and approved.
#192
Off-topic / New anti-spam measures
June 27, 2013, 03:04:25 AM
It seems there is a new wave of spammers.

They are doing "passive spamming", which basically it means to paid humans to break "captcha codes" in order to infiltrate, then putting their websites on signatures and profile fields with the sole purpose of staying undetected for as long as possible hoping search engines will pick their links prior to their deletion.

Some measures such as having to ask for approval for having links in signature are going to be in place.

The problem with passive spammers is they aren't noticed as easily, hence we must hit them right where they are trying to (ab)use us to fool the search engines. Profile fields and signatures.

For fair users it will only mean to contact staff to approve the site(s) wanted in your signature and/or coping with enhanced captchas.

Also please report any unusual PM you might receive (trademark of silent spammers too).

Spammers need to be eradicated, with zero tolerance in order to keep our community clean.

Guys, I felt like clearing with some of you the fact there are different types of hosting.

It all boils down to control of resources.

Shared hosting: no control over the server's software. Others control it for you. The pooled financial resources pay for the shared IT staff, all sites banded together (i.e. server modifications and upgrades affect all sites at once). Shared hosting IS NOT BAD PER SE. If you don't know how to manage a web server, it is ideal. Others control the software, so you just point & click on the control panel.

The downside is you are fighting for resources with -at times even hundreds!- of other sites and you're served with what's left at the moment. Or not served at all. Shared sites are known to throw the blank page error even when the machine is still running because other sites are consuming too much.

Dedicated resources: you have control on the server's software and services. You have the power. There are several levels of hiring, which you can control. You can hire anything from a full server to guaranteed "resource slices", on which -once bought- nobody messes with your disk, bandwidth or RAM allocation. It's all dedicated to your website and it's nobody else's, even if they're all idle, they're entirely yours thus guaranteeing a greater level of service as long as the machine is running.

Now the point.

Yes, there are $1 dollar/month hosting available out there (i.e. http://www.brainhost.com/dollar/), hell, there are even $0.50/mo hostings (i.e. http://www.hostblast.net/). It's obviously shared. That's how they can offer such prices.

Ramming 300 clients onto a single server sure makes wonders for cutting prices. If the server's actual monthly bill is $100 and you divide it among 300 then you can do $100/300 = $0.33 per site, and still make a volume gain with $1 or even $0.50.

Which brings the focus to us.

Sadly, after receiving some messages today, I got the impression there's the thought our betselection.cc site must be thrown in a server with hundreds of sites along and hence it's a fairy tale we're enjoying dedicated resources or it being a tale that I have full control of all of our web server / database server / and related services' software.

Good thing is there's a public, transparent way to get a taste of the sites pointing to the same server address. It's called reverse dns lookup.

There are plenty of pages to make it. You can find a plethora easily:

http://www.google.com/search?q=reverse+dns+lookup+service

Please feel free to reverse-lookup us.

Furthermore, here's a live, direct, reverse-lookup link for our betselection site via the reputable and accurate domaintools site:

http://reverseip.domaintools.com/search/?q=betselection.cc

You'll only find our place and hobbycode (programming language project). Not hundreds of other sites.

[attachimg=1]

Also, please try the same lookup services you use on us with other sites to check for differences. For instance, an openly shared hosting site in the community such as RouletteForum.net shows a different view:

http://reverseip.domaintools.com/search/?q=rouletteforum.net

[attachimg=2]

And chances are sites such as -say- Ford.com aren't quite the resource sharing type:

http://reverseip.domaintools.com/search/?q=ford.com

[attachimg=3]

The utmost point is: if I weren't honest and the reality was we're being crammed in a shared host I wouldn't give you this information and instead the big skeleton of us being on a crowded server at .50 cents/mo would be an utmost secret with me praying for you to never find out there's a possible way to see the other hosted sites via the reverse name lookup service I give you above or any of the others from the google search.

On the contrary, I'm providing you the information for you to check for yourself in any one of the reverse lookup services.

By the way, there's one being more open than domaintools at yougetsignal.com's "web sites on web server" page:

http://www.yougetsignal.com/tools/web-sites-on-web-server/

(Manual input, but actually shows ALL the other sites' addresses. Interesting one to see for some webs).

As a final note, let me state this:

...When I dump us in a server with 1000+ other sites to save the bucks at expenses of giving a crappy service, I resign. (And do believe service on those El-Ultra-Cheapo "half-a-dollah" crowded spaces shows!!).

Cheers! & Enjoy our *fine* place; its resources are here to serve you.

There's a mathematical curiosity for having a 36-number layout coverage and yet win +1 unit on a hit:

How can it be?

Targetting #19 as the only number to leave open, the bet goes like this:

3 chips go to number 0
72 chips to low (Covers 1 to 18 )
48 chips to 3rd dozen (Covers 25 to 36)
16 chips to corner 20/24 (Covers 20-21-23-24)
4 chips to straight-up number 22

If any number other than 19 is spun, you win +1.

You need a table with "Le Partage" rule for this bet to work.

Testing the validity of this bet with Roulette Xtreme.

First you need to enable Le Partage:

[attachimg=1[size=78%]][/size]

Then proceed to test the winning bets:

At a straight-up win, we win 4 x 36 = 144 chips, minus 143 chips layed = +1

[attachimg=2]

At the corner, we win 16 x 9 = 144 chips, we lost 143 chips layed = +1

[attachimg=3]

At the dozen, we win 48 x 3 = 144 chips, taking in to account 143 chips layed = +1

[attachimg=5]

At the even chance, we win 72 x 2 = 144 chips, subtracting 143 chips layed = +1

[attachimg=4]

If Zero shows up, dealer returns us 108 chips as payout for it, then takes away losing chips: while from the 72 chips layed at low by "Le Partage" rule enabled at the even chances dealer takes 36 and we get 36 chips back. As we won 108 by zero + 36 chips back from low = 144 chips - 143 layed = +1 unit profit even when zero hits! Positively letting only 1 out of the 37 numbers as a loss, and winning +1 unit at 36 numbers.

[attachimg=6]

It is important to notice at regular Roulette without Le partage, you have a net loss of 35 chips when zero hits so we really need this Le Partage splitting rule:

[attachimg=7]

Of course, the downside is losing spin costs 143 chips. But for doing that bet your REALLY have to do next spin and want the very least numbers against, this "tricky bet" can do.

Also you can mathematically split all the bets in half to win +0.5 instead of +1... but the problem is the Zero. The dealer won't be too fond of you splitting a chip in two to bet 1 and a half on zero :D   C:-)

A liked trigger is to bet after 2 instances of the same number are spun. But we've all seen 3 in a row. Thanks to Namor for the tip.

Cheers!,
Vic

White swans = common events.

i.e. The law of the thirds, repeaters, wheel zones...

Black swan = uncommon event.

i.e. The same number 4+ times, long Zig-Zag of colors, great lengths of the same dozen/column/chance, multiple hits on a reduced wheel area during a fair share of consecutive spins, and in general that you see scarcely ever, happening by random fluctuation at intervals in the few and far apart vicinity, but which certainly do happen...

Which "swan" should you look for? = BOTH!

Your best bet is to get to the gaming table prepared to play a regular session targeting the common (and expected) white swans, but when you see that black swan developing, you should be sharp enough to spot and ride it till its fullest extreme.

Those are the "jackpot days". The very welcome time when goddess wealth rewards your prepared mind.

If want to talk chartesse, you regularly look to bet within the "belly" of the distribution curve but also ride the "long tail" of the chart:

[attachimg=1]

You then enjoy the best of both worlds.
