Hello guys, after pondering a lot we're setting with:

- BetSoftware FREE
A freeware version.

- BetSoftware PRO
A paid version.

I'm currently re-building the framework code from scratch; reorganizing and implementing features I wanted to do since first version to get things done right in order to avoid going back too much to re-code.

Both versions share the same internals, the main difference being the dynamics regarding the inclusion of new modules for each one.

All modules go straight to PRO for immediate use, while FREE gets a new module on the 1st, 10th and 20th of every month, hence there is a period of time for modules to be paid-only, yet they are all ending up in the free version over time for the benefit of our community.

There are complaints about the framework being too cumbersome (but logical!) so the current goal is making it user-friendly.

Good news is I'm an Internet-first programmer now hence I'm staying more at home in July which is why it would be good to count with a few able fellows to check functionality in order to tell me if it's a mess or not + provide suggestions to address issues

We're implementing a model named "Post or Pay" for the sites:

TheMissingPiece, BetSoftware and the upcoming vBundle.

Under this model active members who have a 50+ words post within last week get all the content and software unlocked, while those that don't want to participate -but enjoy our existence- can sponsor the continuation of our operation directly, in a symbiotic relationship.

The tag line goes like: "Get everything by becoming an active member (by posting)... or sponsor our operation to get everything too while supporting the sites and software you love."

This model/modification doesn't affect neither BetSelection, BetForum nor the upcoming vWeb; but only the aforementioned "specialty" sites and software releases.

...The model is intended to pamper our active members with a reward that is valuable, while opening a venue to get direct support from the fellows who appreciate our existence around.

The BetSelection forum is in the process of being split:

- BetForum.cc => Personal blogs for members to host their own space, with their own rules.
- BetSelection.cc => Shared space for system analysis, testing and focused study.

I've been programming the shared database and web engine for some time now.

It is going online within the next following months (yet can't pin-point the exact moment in time).

Chances are we're going to have a test-run with the incomplete engine for a while before everything gets merged into a single login system followed by an official re-launch of the streamlined sites.

P.S. all contents remains, it is being re-organized per site to have one site focused on systems & strategies (here) and another one for the fellows to post away in their own personal space as they please

Hello guys, registration is being disabled (intermittently) for a couple days due to TheMissingPIece.site space.

TMP is the very first one implemented with our new multi-site vWeb engine. This is being done so member ID is consistent across sites in the database.

Migrating to a new web engine isn't trivial, so we're doing it with baby steps. A lot of internal work is being done on the back-end; the front-end is basic by design until proper styling gets in and the content added.

BetSelection, BetForum, BetSoftware and all of the sites in our network are going to be migrated to vWeb, with single-sign-on.

We're finally getting things done web-engine wise!

Hello dear Carlitos, as mentioned on this thread, development is on a hiatus; I'm focused on developing the NicBot and a couple projects close to completion for the time being.

You'll sure notice when layout and other projects are resumed. A chunk of the upcoming free & public domain bot is shared

Goal is to "upsell" the bot (i.e. give the core bot for free, then sell auto-updates and other special goodies) to sponsor more coding hours to make a virtuous cycle that benefits us all in the community.

The year is still young!

Hello guys; as you know our sites aren't active financially; right now "management" demands me to get a secondary job so online development is getting on a hiatus.

(My online and offline lives are intermingled)

Current bot coding is still in place.

Remember: we are a hobby site for our personal enjoyment as a side thing.

The good part is we remain "pure" in the sense that we aren't pushing any agenda, Our goal is simply to continue being a place for all the fellows to enjoy.
