Without betting on the games, most professional sports would almost disappear....................especially the National Football League.

If you lived in San Diego, would you care about who would win a game between the Minnesota Vikings and Detroit Lions?

Rooting for a pro team is like rooting for US Steel or General Motors to have a profitable year so the CEO can get a
$ 5,000,000 bonus at the end of the year.   No Thanks!

As far as buying recommendations from a tout service, I would never do it.    As the old saying goes, if they were very profitable and successful at a specific business, they would do it instead of selling picks and betting selections.

Also may of these "touts" and selection services always advertise a winning percentage of 60 % or more... which is impossible in the long run...if you could achieve a 60% win rate in sports betting, you would own the casino in about 6 months.

Betting on sports  ( baseball, pro and college basketball, pro and college football, soccer ( called football in the rest of the world ) tennis, hockey etc etc  requires at least 12 to 16 hours a day of study and analysis 6 or 7 days a week....with no guarantee of success..........and you need a very, very  large bankroll to even have a chance of a profitable year.     Hitting   % 55 percent winning bets in the long run is very, very hard to achieve.

And now thanks to the internet and only 2 companies in Las Vegas owning most of the sports books,  the betting line is essentially the same for every game so you can't shop around for the best line as you could have done 20 years ago.

And you also have to have a passion for sports to follow and also watch all the games and read the latest information which affects every game (injuries, coaching changes etc etc )

Personally I lost complete interest in sports when players started signing $ 20,000,000 to $ 30,000,000 contracts........am I supposed to be a fan of these players and root for their team when next year they become a free agent and sign a new contract with another team for a    $ 5,000,000  increase in salary?

They  don't care about me......so why should I care about some multi millionaire arrogant, obnoxious,
prima  donna?

I haven't been keeping up with this thread ....but as far as finding statistical anomalies in a bac shoe.....   I think you have to also consider the practicality of the method.........if the anomalies only present themselves for 2   or 3 or 4 or 5 bets a shoe, you have to consider if it is worthwhile to sit at a table for an hour or an hour and a half waiting for those situations to appear for a bet while inhaling about three packs of second hand cigarette smoke (smoking will be reinstated after Covid......casinos do not care if the dealers and employees and customers get  sick from the smoke....all they care about is if they can make more profit with a smoking casino versus a non smoking casino )

Also,  in an 80 hand shoe of baccarat, do you think you can sit there for an hour and a half and only bet 3 or 4 hands without the pit boss or dealer saying something?

Best place to play the method is at a casino with Stadium baccarat, where it is all electronic betting with a live dealer and you can sit out as many hands as you feel like.

Even with all the cameras and surveillance, the cheating still goes on......this scam went on for at least a year and stole over $1,000,000 at the 5 Star Bellagio hotel in Vegas, which has thousands of cameras....... until they got greedy and then they got caught.

The Venetian in Vegas has Stadium,   Foxwoods and Mohegan Sun in Connecticut have Stadium....also the Wind Creek in Pennsylvania ( Used to be called Sands Casino before it was sold to Wind Creek ) has at least  4 Baccarat Stadium games and over 200 terminals......more casinos will have it in the future....it's a big money saver for the casinos

They also have a digital craps table at Harrahs in vegas.........also three card poker but could not find a picture of it.

It's the wave of the future just like Stadium roulette, baccarat and blackjack........eliminates a lot of  dealers so casinos save on salary and employee benefits,  games are dealt much, much faster since the computer does not make mistakes as far as payout calculations and the calculations are done in 1 or 2 seconds ...... and computers don't call in sick or go on vacation.  One dealer can deal baccarat, roulette blackjack  craps or three card poker to up to 700 customers playing on the stadium or digital craps or three card poker terminals.

Lots of jobs will be eliminated by automation in the next 5 years.  Lots of people will be automated out of the work force.

The gambling world is just like the world of the CIA/KGB/GRU/MI6/NSA  spy services  ...it's all smoke and mirrors.........you do not know who is lying, who is telling the truth, you do not know who is your friend  or who is your enemy........you do not know what to believe or not to believe.........you do not know what is the truth and what us a lie.

Interesting follow up to Archie Karas...........good example of the ups and downs in the gambling world.

You probably read it already.....but you might read it again...... a 4 star review of the book  on Amazon where a reader's father who had access to a large computer, programmed the method over 100,000 spins.

Might save you a lot of time and money.

This is an interview with a magician and the use of his skills in the world of gambling................after reading this, I would never play in a home poker game because you really do not know who is shuffling and dealing the cards, and if he is stacking the deck.

https://www.npr.org/2021/03/01/972501227/magician-derek-delgaudio-traces-his-journey-from-card-cheat-to-illusionist

Here is a brief story of what a good magician can do..............some time ago I was doing accounting for a famous doctor ( who will remain nameless ) and he decided to give an after work party for his 20 employees..........so he hired a magician to do some card tricks........so the magician put up a small portable table and did his card tricks in front  of about 5 or 6  people .......and then he folded up his table  and was about to leave and set up his table again for the other employees, and then he asked one of the women who was watching his tricks what time it was, and as she looked at her wrist...... her wrist watch was gone and the magician said are you looking for this?  and then he gave the watch back to her.

Of course everyone laughed and then the magician moved his small portable table to do some more card tricks for the other employees and I followed him to the other table, and as the other employees gathered around to see him do the card tricks,  I said to everyone gathered around the table " Be careful of this guy, he can steal the watch right off of your hand!"

And then he did his card tricks on the table and as he was folding up his table to leave, he asked me what time it was....and you guessed it.............. my watch was gone and he was waving it in front of my face and laughing and I can't even remember him touching my arm or even coming close to me.

And if you ever see Apollo Robbins walking towards you, run across the street to get out of his way because he can steal your underwear off of you .......and the video below shows just a little bit of Apollo's skills.

Here is an article some of you my find interesting.......it was written by Dr. Harlow who was my Professor in Finance when I was in college.................it is sort of long and deals mostly with stock trading but the
concepts also apply to other forms of gambling and speculation.

The prop bets in Vegas of KC not scoring a touchdown were 50 to 1    or   60 to 1 in other places.............

Typical vegas ripoff........should be at least 300 to  1 or 500 to 1........just like vegas charging $ 25 for a beer  or the $ 40 "Resort Fees"
