General Discussion / Re: Blackjack -- why is it not more popular here?
« on: November 07, 2017, 08:32:51 pm »
One of the worst things you have to deal with playing a table game BJ is that you have to bet every hand ( paying rent ) until the deck turns positive........and unfortunately the deck is positive only about 30% of the time.

And of course once you raise your bets they will eventually bar you............complete waste of time.

Even with a 1.5 % edge, you can still lose 50% of your bankroll.

Only way to bet the game is with a team like the Holy Rollers or MIT teams or the original Ken Uston / Al Fransesco teams ( who started the team concept in the early 1970's ) ....and even now I'm not sure they would win in today's casino environment.....................however with the new Stadium BJ which is dealt by a real dealer in the casino, you can sit out hands........and  I saw someone win $ 30,000 in a few hours playing BJ on the Stadium BJ.

Here are some suggestions:

There are 16 words in the "Weenie Meenie" etc etc....but its easier to count 18 pockets clockwise from the last number hit if the last number was odd and count 19 pockets if the last number  was even........
so if last number hit was 30 which is even, then count 19 pockets clockwise and you will get 29 as your first of 6 numbers to bet. = ( don't count the 30 number as one of the 19 numbers, start counting the 19 numbers clockwise after the 30 which is number 11 ( American 0 and 00 wheel )

Here are some real brick and mortar casino, real dealer - no RNG -  numbers you can play with to see how this does :

General Discussion / 3 biggest gambling inventions
« on: October 30, 2017, 09:10:04 am »
This is my opinion for the 3 biggest gambling "inventions"

The first is one that we are all familiar with....using chips ( actually called checks ) in place of actual money.

Losing 4 green chips is not the same as handing over a real $ 100 bill and losing it.............the chips replace the emotional effect of losing your hard earned actual money and substituting it with losing worthless pieces of round plastic.................a brilliant invention and no one knows who invented this concept.

In my next post, I will describe the second invention..............and then I will describe the third.......which is the most brilliant......... and one of the major reasons why  casinos rake in enormous profits.

General Discussion / baccarat trends

Here is something to look at during your next bac shoe, if you have a slow dealer and have time to write down some extra info on your scorecard.

This is not a "system" ....but just an observation which may or may not have any value.

Basically you track three different situations :

1. If you win or lose a bet by a natural ( you bet Player and Player loses to a natural Banker 8 or 9...or vice bet Player and win with a Player natural 8 or 9 )

2. You win or lose on a draw ( you bet Player and Player has a ten and a 7 on the first two cards for a total of 7 and Banker has 2 tens for a total of zero and Banker draws an 8 and you lose......or you bet on Player and Banker has a 10 and a 2 on first 2 cards for a total of 2 and Player has 2 and a 3 for a total of 5. Player draws a 6 for a total of 1 and Banker draws an 8 for a total of zero and you win.

3. The third situation is to see who was ahead after the first four cards are dealt.....for example, Player has a 2 and a 4 on the first two cards for a total of 6 and Banker has a 2 and an ace on the first two cards for a total of 3.  Player is ahead 4 to 3 .

Or on the first four cards Player has a two aces for a total of 2 and Banker has a 2 and a 3 for a total of 5 so Banker is ahead 5 to 2.

Now make 6 columns on your score card......the first set of 3 columns are for bets that you lose. The columns can be titled....Natural, Draw and First 4. So if you lose a bet to a natural, you put a mark in red the Natural column. If lose a bet to a draw, you put a red mark in the Draw column. If you lose a bet because you were behind on the first 4 cards, you put a red mark in red the First 4 column.

Now do the same for the next set of 3 columns and now instead make a black mark if you win the bet.

If you win a bet with a natural, make a mark in black in the Natural column. If you win a bet on a draw, make a black mark in the Draw column. If you win a bet and are ahead after the first 4 cards are dealt, make a black mark in the First 4  column.

I can almost guarantee you that if you are on one of those 6 or 7 losing bets in a row situations, or are caught in a "shoe from hell" where you can't seem to win a bet, the first set of three columns in red will have many red marks in them.

Like wise, if you are on a good shoe and winning, the second set of 3 columns will have a lot of black marks in them.

The reason you track the first 4 cards in the First 4 column is because whoever is ahead on the first 4 cards will win the hand 80 % or 95 % of the time, depending on the shoe.....for the simple reason the other side has to "catch up" to the side that is ahead.

As I said, this is not a betting system.......but if you start to see a lot of red marks, you will probably be in for a very bad shoe.

And this may be a good starting point if someone has the time to look into this further and develop some kind of betting strategy.

Baccarat Forum / Re: Is Baccarat Beatable or Not???
« on: October 01, 2017, 12:44:05 am »
My feeling is if you are going to play bac, play at the mini bac tables, even if you are a big better, ( most minibac tables have a $15000 max bet ) because if you play at  a midi or big bac table ( $ 100 minimum bet ), you will be more influenced by what other players are doing compared to a mini bac table.....and those players don't know their ***  from a hot rock.

If you are looking for camaraderie, or fun, or looking to make friends......join a country club......don't play baccarat.

When asked how someone did today in speculating in the stock market, Forex or commodities, or a casino game such as baccarat dice or roulette, the amateur ( which includes 99.9% of the people in a casino), will respond saying that he made $ 200 or lost $ 400.

The intelligent, professional, speculator or gambler will say he won 2% of bankroll or 4 % of bankroll or lost 2% of bankroll or lost 4 % of bankroll

In every form of speculation or business startup, the speculator or businessman must fight a negative expectation (  except card counting in blackjack......which is no longer practical since you will eventually get thrown out unless you can put together a team such as the MIT team or the Holy Rollers )

In gambling, poker has the casino rake, dealer tip, and  after each pot, the band beat jackpot contribution as a negative expectation.

Roulette, baccarat and dice have a 1.3 % to 5.6 % negative expectation because of below fair payouts on winning bets.

In sports betting you generally have to bet $11 to win $ 10

In starting a business, you have a negative expectation of paying for business licenses, paying employees, paying rent for a location, paying utilities, paying for insurance etc etc etc.

In trading stocks or forex or commodities, you have the negative expectation of paying commissions for each trade, and "slippage", where you get the worst side of the trade ( you buy on the offer and sell on the bid price )

Whether you play casino games or start your own business, you have to deal with the 3 main reasons which will cause you to fail:

1. Poor business management....... failure to respond to changing economic conditions ( which now happen very rapidly )

2. Inferior, obsolete or poorly priced product that you offer to sell

3. Not sufficiently capitalized to handle the inevitable down swings in your business

Betting on casino games is basically just like running a business, and you must be able to deal with all 3 of the above situations.

1. Poor business the game you are playing changing ? are the odds changing ?, are new odds or bets being offered ? is casino management changing as to how they monitor the game you are playing .  Is the game you are playing no longer beatable?

2.Inferior, obsolete or poorly priced product that you offer to your bet selection no longer valid, or does it have to be modified depending on the current spins of a roulette wheel or current texture of the baccarat shoe you are playing ?

3.Not sufficiently capitalized to handle the inevitable down swings in your business ...this is the most you have sufficient bankroll to handle the worst drawdown possible ? Are you betting too high a % of bankroll on each bet or session ?

If you are trying to make a "career" in business, gambling or speculation, you must deal with the above   3 situations.

The most important point to remember is that the main objective is not to "make money".....the main objective in bankroll do not want to put yourself into a position where you lose most, or all of your business capital or gambling bankroll by risking too much as a % or capital or bankroll on any given bet or session.......because if you lose your business capital or bankroll, you are out of the game.

The only way to avoid failure is to risk a small % of bankroll on each bet and session, and try to stay in the game so that when the tome comes when you have to bet, and hopefully win, on your winning bets, you are still in the game......because in a negative expectation game, you have to win more on your winning bets that you lose on your losing bets.

Generally, you need a "big" bankroll to succeed......and "big" is a relative term......$ 50,000 may seem big to the forum members......but $ 50,000 is tip money for the waitress for Bill Gates.

If you are undercapitalized in a business startup, speculating in stocks, forex or commodities or betting on casino will eventually fail.

1. What does the "D" mean next to the spin when it was up 73 units ?

2. Was the test against a single zero European wheel ?......I don't think this would work against a double zero wheel unless you split a bet between the 0 and 00 to protect yourself from the green monster

3. For all you baccarat is something to think about using   9 sets of 4 random Players and Bankers  and using the same method to determine wether to bet Player or Banker.....alternate the sets so that there are either 3 Bankers ands 1 Player or 1 Player and 3 Bankers, and bet the majority                    ( if 3 players  in the set, then bet player.........if 3 bankers in the set, then bet Banker

Lots of bad English in that letter.

Hope his method is better than his grammar.

If you live near a casino which has the live dealer dealing with the Fusion/Stadium setup with  roulette/blackjack/ get a spin every 25 this would be a lot better than playing  on a regular roulette table which takes about 5 minutes for each spin,,,,,,,,,,especially on weekends..
