1.In my humble opinion, anyone who bets online such as baccarat, roulette, or a slot machine is a moron and deserves to lose all his money for being an unintelligent. The only.exception is betting on sports on line where you bet on   real events and not a random numerator generator.

However there are have been numerous scandals of lower tier tennis and soccer ( football as it called in the rest of the world besides the USA ) which have been fixed ( players who have gambling debts and can't pay them so they throw the game and the gamblers bet on the other side.),,,,, so even betting on sports can be dangerous if you are not sure if the game is rigged.

2. Barstoolsports mentioned in the post above was owned by Dave Portnoy who sold it to Penn Gaming for a few hundred  million $ and is trying is hand at day trading as in the link below.

https://www.businessinsider.com/barstool-sports-founder-dave-portnoy-tries-day-trading-and-loses-2020-4

A few days after this link was posted he lost a million $ in one day and the next day won back the    million $,,,,,,,that's what I call high variance .

And if you think horse racing is honest , read this

Or this about one of the top trainers in the USA

The only point I was making was that many people treat the virus in a cavalier manner....and all countries are stuck between a rock and a hard  place  because you just can't shut down the global economy for 6 months or a year or the world economy will collapse... but you also can't just let 7 billion people start walking around next to each other coughing and sneezing.

There is another theory ( it's not my theory, so don't write any nasty posts to me ) but our planet is a living organism with millions of different land, sea and air  species.....and all  those species and the environmental balance is slowly but surely being destroyed by homo sapiens......so the entire planetary structure is reacting in a self  defensive, self preservation,  evolutionary  reaction, which is to destroy the cause of the destruction which are homo sapiens ( before the virus, the pollution in New Delhi India  and Bejing China was so bad you could not see your hand in front of your face.)

And the only real way a planetary living entity can defend itself is with a virus...a virus that will not kill millions but will kill 5 or 6 billion people and send civilization and technology  back 2,000 years to a simple isolated, non-polluting, agrarian , non-technology level of existence similar to  the Dark Ages of 600 to 800 AD.....where 1 of 4 babies will die at childbirth and few will live past 30 or 40 years of age.

And a vaccine will not prove effective because the virus will keep mutating to combat the vaccine just like most antibiotics  today are becoming more and more ineffective because the bacteria have evolved into  different forms and the antibiotics have no effect.

We will probably know within the next 6 to 9 months if this scenario will play out or if a vaccine will stop the spread of the disease. ..so stay tuned.

"I am completely amazed at the wrong perception so many people have that I run into on a daily basis concerning this virus."

So far, 87,000 dead in  the US and it is going to eventually hit between  150,000 and 250,000.....not sure how that's a "wrong perception"

But of course, it will never happen to me....it will always happen to someone else.

Personally, I think that anyone ( especially someone between the age of 45 and 80 years old ) goes into any casino or sporting event anywhere in any city or any country before a vaccine has been in use for at least 6 months ( most likely at least a year and a half from now ) is putting their life at risk.

Why? Because before a vaccine is available, you will have a multitude of people in close proximity in a  casino ( or basketball, soccer or football game )  and it is statistically guaranteed that a certain percentage of those people will be carrying the virus..and all it takes is  for one of those people to walk by you or sit near you and sneeze or cough on you and you just became infected.

And if you have a family with children, you are also putting your family at risk if you  contact the virus and go home and spread it to them.

Also, even if a vaccine is developed, there are 7 billion 300 million people in the world and there is no way they can produce that many vaccines ...so you have no way of knowing if the person sitting next to you in  a casino or sporting event has been vaccinated.....so you are still playing Russian  roulette with your life and your family's lives..

Pattern Analysis....thanks for posting the method in 2 posts above...however you should have used B for Banker and P for Player in baccarat instead of W and L  ...using W and L is confusing since W usually                           means a win and L usually means a loss.

I hate to repeat myself, and I do wish you success if you play poker full time.....but as I said before, don't quit your day job.

Actually I think you were just kidding and pulling our legs about thinking about becoming a professional player after winning your first $ 50......but in case you were serious, then you are going to have a very, very big disappointment  once you start playing.......in other words, don't quit your day job.

If your worst drawdown is 300 units, then your bankroll would have to be very large....if your unit bet size  is $ 10  then you would need a bankroll of $ 3,000.

In baccarat ( where people bet larger ) if your unit size is $ $ 50 then you would need a bankroll of $ 15,000.

A unit size of $ 100 would need a bankroll of $ 30,000

Here is another Vegas project that was probably doomed before it was  begun, even without COV19.

The Sphere will cost between $ 1.2 and $ 1.7 Billion....and it's basically a high tech movie  house.

They will have to charge between $ 50 and $ 100 a ticket, and how can they show a profit since  it will cost so much to build.......and when you go at least once, you will probably know what it is like and won't go back.

Construction is halted because of the virus......probably doesn't matter since it most likely would have failed anyway even without the virus....it just cost too much......not enough revenue to service the debt.

How can anyone play a bac tournament with real money?    What are you thinking?

You have no control over the game as to when to quit with a profit or a loss.....you have no plan......you are betting against other players, not the casino.......it's no surprise the guy in the lawsuit lost $ 22,500

Every Ponzi scam rip off always appeals to a major human weakness....greed...high % returns with no work involved.

Some people will fall for anything once that  greed factor kicks in.

Math & Statistics / Re: Statistical Strangeness

Here is an old axion....".There are liars, damned liars, and statistics"

P.S.  I think if we do not have a therapeutic in the next 2 - 3 months, which reduces the virus to a vey bad 2 week case of the flu, ( forget a vaccine, that's a year away unless a miracle occurs ) then we all may be toast...police, firemen, truck drivers delivering food, people stocking the shelves in grocery stores, drivers and workers  for Amazon and other online delivery companies, meat and chicken processing plants   etc etc etc will all eventually become infected...and that's when the survival/ mob mentality will take over and don't expect to see any food in your local grocery store....hope it doesn't happen.

Also be careful of any offers any casino will use to try to get you into a casino....they will do anything to get you in ...caveat emptor.

If you do play poker, I hope its only a few hours a week as a recreational player. Making a "living" playing poker now is basically very difficult if not impossible. There are too many poker courses, books, mentors etc etc available which has made most players play at the same skill level.

Also at higher stakes, you may get cheated by others at the table by other players  playing as colluding partners ......and playing online is the same problem......all kinds of cheating going on.

Same goes for blackjack......6-5 paid on a 21 instead of 3-2...?.   getting banned when you raise your bets etc etc ?.just a waste of time and money.

Here is one reason it may be too early to open the economy without extensive, accurate and rapid  testing:

Does anybody still feel  like going into a casino with thousands of people in close proximity and then  sitting shoulder to shoulder with 5 other people at a baccarat table and high fiving when everybody wins a hand ?

This guy gets a little emotional in the interview, but I think he is probably right ......unless a miracle happens and the virus dies out by itself or dies out when the weather gets warmer .........which does not seem likely.........
